HiThis is in FS2002. When creating or loading flight plans how can I stop the simlulator reinitialising the session. ie. For ages when I started the simulator in the most recent saved flight, and loaded a flight plan, the plan would load and the aircraft would stay in the sames place/configuration. I must have changed something because now it forces me to pick where I want to start and resets things like the clock, heading select, altitude select etc. This is most annoying when flying multiple sectors.

Ive been spending a lot of time flying the F1 Cessna 172R, and I have a question for those of you who fly in real life. When making turns, as most of you know, you gradually feed in rudder as you bank, adjusting accordingly. However, when you return the yoke to neutral to maintain a turn rate/ bank angle, is it realistic that you hold some rudder to keep the plane from slipping in the turn? I thought you only used rudder to establish the turn... but as it goes in FS, you have to have rudder input all the way through the turn, until you roll out of the turn. How do the real things do it?

Hi all...A question for all you mathematicians, physicists and accomplished aviators! During a PPL ground brief today a discussion arose between my instructor, myself and four other students regarding the calculation of the speed of sound in air. I asked why the equation called for the local air temperature, but not the atmospheric pressure. I received an explanation that was extensive but left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied!I decided to research the matter online this evening and am now more confused than ever! The following quote appears to make sense:

Hi,I've not been around for a while because i've have to put FS to bed and concentrate on my studies, but finally i can mix the two!I'm a final year Transport and Product design student at Coventry University in the UK, and for my final major project will be designing the cockpit of a 4 seater GA aircraft for the year 2015. I need help from as many GA pilots as possible because i only have 1 hour's experience in Cessna 172 and quite a lot of time on MS FlightSim 2000/02/04. I need REAL experience from any REAL pilots out there! So if you would be kind enough to fill in this short survey, i'd be really greatful. It'll only take 5 mins. Fun facts:The total number of 737s in service is 4023, if you were to add the ones on order, the number jumps to 4683. Boeings share of the airline industry is at 48.8% with 10,544 in service and 946 on order. (These figures include the 7E7 orders).Airbus has a 15.4% share with 3320 aircraft in service and 1100 on order. (This includes the A-380)Rounding out the top 3 is Bomberdier with a 9.6% share, 2,069 aircraft in service and 288 on order. There are still 4 Douglas DC-3s in service, Rossair Kenya-1, Basler Airlines-1, Enterprise Air-1, Rhoades Aviation-1. Bear in mind that the DC-3 airframe is 60 years old.Source : Flight International (www.flightinternational.com).

Just a wee line to say thanx to British Airways for the flight home yesterday from Gatwick to Glasgow.Turned up at Gatwick for the 17.35 737-300 flight home to find that the previous flight to Glasgow had been cancelled due to the aircraft going "tech". Didn't think much about it as I reckoned they would have got another aircraft for them ok! My flight was called and we were told to board the bus as the aircraft was on a remote stand. Ok!Headed out to the aircraft. Thought the driver had got lost but then again this was the only plane around....a big brute of a 777 (well it was big in my eyes as the biggest plane I have been on previously was a 737-800). Got on board and …

I'm working on a website for a bizjet company, and I uploaded the following barebones website for the company employees to review and provide feedback. Only the front page is considered done... the links are active but the pages are pretty much blank for now.I emailed the photographer of the photo used on that front page, requesting permission to use that photo in that manner. He emailed me back saying that he required $450 for a license to use that photo.Truly disappointing, as I was highly pleased with my effort on that... I will be changing the photo, but for the next day or two, it will be up there while the company guys review the site, and I thought you guys would l…

In the past before Sept 11, in fact I haven't been on an airliner since I took videos taking off, during cruise, and landing. I was just wondering how many of you guys have tried this or still photos during flight since Sept 11th. The last flight I was on was a American 757 from KSNA-to KORD and back in the summer of 2000 and had no difficulty at all.

For the third time in six weeks we've taken the eye of a hurricane, and today was the worst yet. We were HAMMERED all day with cat II winds gusting to 117 mph. Trees down everywhere - more home damage and destruction, but this time the airport (Lakeland, Fl) was hit. We've been extremely fortunate with the last two but this time a couple of hangar rows sustained damage with some a/c damage as well. This time though, the wind pushed in my own hangar doors. Though still attached at the top, the bottom of the doors pushed back about three feet into the hangar, and appeared ready to finish the fall if another gust hit. As fortune would have it, I had flown one of our two …

Hello everyone!I am looking for someone who can tell me how a typical AWACS flight (don't care in what aircraft) looks like (Europe and US). Do they fly a certain circuit or is it just a straight flight? I know what the operating bases of the AWACS in the US and Europe are but where do they mainly fly (to)? Thanks in advance,Ralph

It is balloon time again here in ABQ.http://www.balloonfiesta.com/If you have never seen hundreds of hot air balloons flying in the air at the same time, you would be amazed at the sight. Standing next to an 80-120 foot inflated balloon ready to launch is also quite something.Terry

I am a private pilot in the USA. I may transfer to Shanghai for two years and want to exercise my private pilot privileges, and maybe even go for an instrument rating while over there.First, does anyone know if China is GA-friendly, and if so, what procedures I would have to go through to be able to fly in China? Second, are there any GA airfields nearby to Shanghai. I only know of two large airports that house many commercial craft. Not sure if GA exists there.Anyone with China flying experience or knowledge of General Aviation in and around Shanghai, your replies to this note are appreciated.-DK----David KohlFly! Hello All -Just out of curiosity, what are the odds that regular passengers can sit in the flight deck during a flight? Did they even allow that before security was tightened? I'm flying to Philly in a few weeks, and I wondered what the odds would be the sit in the jump seat (if applicable).Just a random thought :-)Thanks,Rob S.Captain Delta VA737-800/900
