hey,Has anyone ever had any problems with UPS losing a package? I had a digital camera that was due to be delivered today but it never showed up and when I called customer service they fed me this "The driver may just be running late, the package has not returned to the sorting facility so it should be on the delivery truck" :-roll . The tracking information shows it was last scanned in a city 60 miles away from where I live lastnight. It may be to early to be worrying about the package possibly being lost but I paid almost 600 dollars for the camera. Anyone had similar experiences with UPS? They have always been on time when Ive used them but not now and I'm hoping it wa…

I was just wondering how to read weather, can anyone help?

This is something that has always puzzled me. When we look at a plane fly into say a cumulus, intuitively, I'd expect the clouds to totally splatter, change shape, move up/down/sideways etc. into an unrecognisable shape. But they don't. They just stay still as if nothing happened. What's the explanation for this from a physics POV? :)

My dad's computer has an problem with IE. (BTW, I will abstain from anti-IE comments for the moment ;)) His problem occurs when he is surfing a page that has a form and he submits it, and presses back. He gets a 'page not found error'. However, by pressing refresh he is able to get that page again. Any ideas on how to fix that?

We all have them. So what is your pet peeve, the one thing you can't stand in the world?I will say that my pet peeve are these people who can't type right....using phonetic 'spellings' of words. U instead of You, r instead of are, 4 instead of for...not capitilaizing(sp I know) words...no punctuation. :-mad"r u going 4 a flight 2day" - a good example of a 'sentence' written in phonetics. Drives me nuts. That is such an ignorant way to express yourself. You end up looking childish, and lacking in the intelligence department. I am fairly certain that people who type that way aren't lacking in intelligence(ok, must of them aren't dummies ;)). It seems that most 'young pe…

Ok, this is going to be a thread with no negative comments, no bashing, nothing negative at all. I am just going to ask a question and give you my opinion, if anyone wants to discuss it they can do so in an intelligent informed manner. Why is it that at times people can post an opinon and immediately get attacked? Let's face it folks, different people have different tastes, this is a good thing. Why does someone need to be attacked because their ideas differ from the attackers? I just read a post on another forum that said absolutely nothing negative about anyone or anything but several people attacked him for it. Why? Because it did not fit their view of the world. Peop…

This may seem like an odd question but here goes. Is there a listing online of the towns and cities that are the greatest distance from each other. To perhaps rephrase. What I'm looking for is a listing that lists the towns and cities that are the farthest away from other towns and cities by distance (the most isolated to the closest or vice versa). This could be a world listing are continental listing. Could be road distance or flight or both.I've tried finding something like this for awhile now and decided to see if anyone has alread found one as I can't seem to?Hope you can help.Ronson2k

I saw in a magazine a while ago (it's actually from last year) that LOT had placed an order for 737NG's and that they were set to be delivered 1st quarter 2004. I checked all the sources I could find, nothing about an order for 737NG. I sent an e-mail to Boeing asking them, but have gotten no reply... are there any sites that might contain some info on aircraft orders and their status?

// copied from the Express-Aircraft Builders forumI have been having trouble with my Avidyne spontaneously rebooting during flight. This happened the first summer after I started flying the airplane, about 4 years ago. I contacted Avidyne and they had me send it in so they could put a second cooling fan on the chip. All went well until about 6 weeks ago, and then it did it again, only it wouldn't come up past the blue screen. I again contacted them, sent it in, and they put in another hard drive. On the first flight after getting it back, it rebooted again. I called them yesterday and they said that they could put in another hard drive. The problem is that the hard drive …

Lord, guard and guide the men who fly,Thro' the great spaces of the sky,Be with them, traversing the air,In darkening storms or sunshine fair.Thou, who doth keep with tender might,The balanced birds in all their flight,Thou, of the tempered winds, be near,That, having Thee, they know no fear.Control their minds with instinct fit,What time, adventuring, they quit,The firm security of land,Grant steadfast eye and skillful hand.Aloft, in solitudes of space,Uphold them with Thy saving grace,O God, protect the men that fly,Thro' lonely ways beneath the sky.(Mary C,D. Hamilton - 1915)Paddy.

Hi,Never been to this forum here before, so I am not sure whether this is old news. The following site has a nice video showing simulated air traffic across the US over a day. It's quite clear when it is day or night I guess:http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/improvingflight/index.htmlThen on the right hand side click below the"Day in the Life of Air Traffic over the United States. Animation of the air traffic over the US on a typical day."heading.Cheers,Siggy
