  1. Title says it all.I want to know how working as a pilot for a real airline works in terms of assingment to a plane and/routes.I assume that you have to work your way up to the heavies starting with turboprops or whatever your airline operates in the small range. And when you are assigned to a specific aircraft-type how does your day to day, week to week routine look like? Do you fly only one route between your hub and the destinations or do you take turns?Basically what factors decide what aircraft and what route you fly from day to day?

    United Airlines should add these routes to airports where they are the only major U.S. carrier that does not fly to:ORD-TOL, ORD-EYW, ORD-BGR, ORD-LIT, ORD-JAN, ORD-HSV, ORD-MGM, ORD-MOB, ORD-FNT, ORD-ERI, ORD-EVV, ORD-CHA, ORD-CUN, ORD-YQB, ORD-NAS, ORD-CUR, DEN-LIT, DEN-JAN, SFO-GUM, SFO-LGB, LAX-ACA, LAX-GDL, IAD-AVL, IAD-TRI, IAD-POS, IAD-SDQ, IAD-MAD, IAD-LIS, IAD-VIE, IAD-SCL, IAD-DUB, IAD-FCO, IAD-BGI, and IAD-ANU. I would not care if any of these routes would be serviced by United Express or United.

Reading the UK press there is a disturbing article on super volcanos. These make Vesuvious look like a damp squib. There are five potential sites for the supervolcanos, Taupo New Zealand, Toba Indonesia, Naples Italy and long valley California and Yellowstone. The most worrying and potentially biggest of the Lot is Yellowstone which is due to erupt anytime. An Eruption from Yellowstone would throw Magma 30 miles high in an eruption 1000 times stronger than normal volcanos. All life within 600 miles would be detroyed. Ash in the atmosphere would drop the earths temperature by 15 degrees. The last time yellowstone erupted was 2.1 million years ago the blast leaving a crater 50 m…

Seems that AVG did appalling badly in Feb's virus Bullitin Report.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106071.jpgOut of 28 products tested, only 4 passed with 100% detection rate, as you can see from the above table, AVG did badly, so please people, if you are using AVG consider changing to a more secure system. Not only will it protect yourself better, but will stop the spread of viruses and make everyone who you have in your address books lives easier.I post this here as I think that the majority of people only visit this "main" forum.Dan.

I'm not looking to swap meet and not sure where else to else to post this. I just need info on where I can purchase this radio for 118-136MHz frequency so I can tune in and monitor ATC, ground and pilot radio transmissions. I'm a student pilot and this would really help me. The cheap models costs about $20.

Ok I have finaly decided to start trying to fly the shuttle.I have downloaded and am trying to use the Shuttle Fleet v3.6.I read that it has an accesnt (launch) autopilot,So far I cant figure out how to enable it.So I did a search on it on the forum but didn't find anything. So perhaps someone can clue me in as to how I enable it.I have read the .pdf that came with the shuttle fleet 3.6 and it justgave some commands, didn't see anywhere that said auto pilot.Reason I want it is because I am a visual learner.I watched the DG2 and 3 auto pilot get into a good orbit 4 or 5 times and then tryed it myself. I attemted to use the same method on the shuttle... didn't work...Anyway …
