I was watching a documentary long time ago on the disc. channel about a pilot who worked for Netjets. She would be on call for two weeks then get one week off then rinse and repeat. Now before she got ready to go for her active weeks, she recieved a fax for her two week schedule in her home. What I want to know, is does anyone know what information specifically would be on that fax.for example:does it just say pick up x amount of passengers at airport x and take them to airport y ORwould there be more details, like would the pilot know for what reason? the names? etc?I would like to be able to give that to my pilots who join my VAthanksBrian S

In FSX, if side wind is blown in cruise, planes crab to go right direction. But humans feel bad if the heading is different from the track. So in reality how do they do? Just crabbing or wing-low by autopilot systems?

Hi, Ive just got back from Turkey, i flew from Doncaster EGCN to Dalaman LTBS on a Thomson Boeing 737-300 G-THOP . Im not complaining about the aircraft, just the entertainment. There were no T.V screenings and not even a radio thats nearly 5 hours without any entertainment. If i flew from manchester i would of got a 767. So the quiestion is why don't Thomson Airways operate there 757's or 767's from Doncaster no more. They only operate 738's and 733's? Tom,

Those of you who are interested in the "development-end" of major stand-alone flightsims might find this interview with one of the Devs of the upcoming Falkland's war Flight Sim interesting. He makes some interesting comments about the state of flight simulation, and what it's like to trying to develop a "study-sim" type flightsim.http://www.cleared-to-engage.com/2010/08/26/cleared-to-engage-interviews-dante-de-patta-on-jet-thunder/Cheers,

Saturday morning my best bud and flying partner James and I took his 85hp J-3 Cub up for what was intended to be a long day of fly in visiting and pilot mingling. A ten minute hop from his 900ft strip to Miller Airpark (2,500ft or so of grass) and we were wondering if the rain and ceiling were going to stay away. --no--After a few hours or so of shooting the bull with the hundreds of other folks that flew in, it was time to leave (mainly because the rain was getting heavier). It was my leg back, so I was excited and couldn't wait for the 'interesting' approach into his place.By the time we were over the lake on the approach end of his strip, visibility had dropped to 4 …

Yesterday my friends and I went on what turned out to be the most strenuous and somewhat dangerous hiking trip I've ever been on. We were on a trail near Grandfather mountain in the North Carolina Appalachians. After climbing a few ladders and ropes over extremely steep terrain, we came across what appeared to me to be aircraft wreckage. After my pilot friend James and I approached the wreckage we instantly recognized it to be a Cessna and after looking at part of the cowling, an older C182. Boy, was it spooky! The NTSB states that the non-IFR rated pilot continued into IMC conditions. Obviously the 6000' peak took his life. The crash has been there since March of '7…

with flight simulation software it is easy for us to fly into any field we want anytime of the day or night.I like to keep my flights realistic and I've been wondering, there would be no way a charter company would ever be allowed to fly into someone's private field would they? take for example WA56 and WA79 from FTX scenery - could this really happen in the real world?has anyone done charter flight work in to private fields? if so, what was the situation, did the owner get a "cut" of the trip? make prior arrangements with the owner, etc?

Just saw it a few minutes ago, the last DC-9-30 has landed I believe it was flight 9934 KGRB-KDTW. This is presumably the last DC-93 airline flight in the United States unless one gets thrown in as a substitute tomorrow. But for now after 43 years of airline service these great planes get to take a rest.

In a fly-by-wire system, the movements of flight controls are converted to electronic signals that are to the flight control computers which determine how the control surfaces will move. For the Airbus airliners, the flight controlcomputers retain ultimate control, and will not permit the pilots to fly outside specified performance limits. In practical terms this means that there is no direct link between, say, stick movement and elevator movement. flight Eenvelope Protection lcovers speed, AoA, pitch and bank angles, g, windshear. low energy etcI understand (perhaps wrongly) that there is such a direct link in Flight Simulator. If so, that implies that Airbus add-ons …

Now this is an interesting question since the part of the mind that determines your Success or Failure throughout life for the most part is the subconscious and it doesn't know the difference between real or imagined. One of the biggest controversies seems to be between Traditional Christians and New Agers (whatever a New Ager is). Now exactly what is the difference? I don't think anyone can really answer that. They seem to simply have different interpretations of Gods instructions as to how things are supposed to work in this world and can't agree on Gods Laws (or as some call it the Laws of the Universe), but neither do different denominations of Christianity and various…
