Hello, I have been looking around at different business jet VA's and I have seen almost everything but one thing, the real life operations. I know it's hard to simulate routes in VA's, but I know in real life, a rich person wants a business jet, the jet comes from and airport close by, that plane goes to wherever the person chooses, the plane stays at that airport for about a day, then goes somewhere else to pick someone else up. In business jet VA's in Flight Sim, you fly a flight, then automatically go to another random airport and fly another flight. I personally think it would be better to have someone fly a virtual flight, pick up a virtual person, and end at …

Bill Millin has died. He was piper to the 15th Lord Lovat, commander of the 1st special Services Brigade which landed on Sword Beach on D-Day.Bill Millen marched through the surf and up the beach playing Blue Bonnets over the Border. He's the figure nearest the camara holding his pipes. Lord Lovat is the figure striding through the water to the right of the column of men.The brigade's immediate task to to relieve the airborne troops who had captured Pegasus bridge earlier. Bill Millin piped them across the bridge where twelve of them were killed. A very gallant gentleman

I have noticed that many airports are blurred or not as sharp in detail as they are in most states outside of New York. There are a couple in the New York City area, Westchester County, KJFK and KLGA for sure, but others like Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo and others are not. Plattsburg also has sharp features. Does anyone have any idea why out of curiosity?

I wonder how far along development on FS 11 was before the team was cut. I remember when Aces was shut down, that several team members were retained to package up the existing code. From a financial point of view.. which Microsoft is all about, then it seems like they wouldn't just let the work and investment go to waste. On the other hand, they could farm out a few contractors to work on program and "dumb" it down a tad for the masses. From a marketing perspective dropping the "simulator" out of the name was good. I mean, Microsoft Flight sounds fresher than Microsoft Flight SImulator number 11.

This question is primarly for real life pilots, ramp workers or anyone that knows a true answer to this. Is the luggage compartment pressurized the same as passenger's? I just recently got a German Shepherd and I will be taking her with me numerous times via air and I've heard all bunch of stupid rumors claiming that the compartment that the dogs are being transported in is not properly pressurized and so on. Anyone care to elaborate on this? Thanks!

It was early when I walked out onto the Exeter (EGTE) ramp with my co-pilot to take charge of our brand new Embrear 195 supplied by a leading developer. The morning sun was glistening on the fuselage and the aircraft looked in great condition. After getting any info from the crew we were taking over from, I instructed my FO to do, the walk around while I programmed the FMC for our trip to Palma (LEPA). It was a holiday special for 'Flybe'.After the fuel was loaded we started to board the passengers and we had almost a full load. This would be a good test for the performance. The FO rejoined me on the flight deck and we asked for clearance. The load sheet was handed to me an…

First post on AVSIM in a while! Sorry it's so long. It's kinda like a blog for pilots, from simmers to long flying real world pilots.I went for my discovery flight today and it was really awesome. I did at an FBO at Leesburg Airport (JYO) and they were very professional and nice and made me feel safe and at home, offering me many cookies and puppy chow :(. Before I went to the airport I checked the weather channel (not a normal weather channel but the weather channel :() and the forecast said to expect thunderstorms around 2 PM but I checked the radar and it was completley clear for Virginia. So I called the FBO and one of the CFIs said she checked the radar and she didn'…

Looking at Google Earth today I stumbled across the Blue Angels (including Fat Albert) perfectly staged at CYYZ's GA terminal area. This is one of those things people get prizes for. The person who can find where in the world the Blue Angels were at when Google took it's aerial photos (hint: it's a major international airport). Think of how long people would be searching for this and most like me not even considering CYYZ as I wouldn't think they'd perform there. Anyway just thought I'd share as it looks cool seeing them sitting there at CYYZ. I wonder where in the world all the other great air teams are located at at the time of this blanketed aerial photo record b…

I'm assuming they didn't use dead reckoning, as they cruised at heights of about 30,000 feet and they flew in IMC. Tristan

Hey guys, I started my IFR training at the CAMS flight school at KPIE, it's a part 141 school, and they keep their planes in immaculate condition, also I did my taildragger endorsement there. They have a RedBird simulator and today was my first time in it, so I took some pics and made some observations from the simmer's perspective. For those who are unfamiliar, the Redbird is an FAA approved, full motion sim that uses FSX(or probably ESP).1) it uses Win XP2) It pushes alot of pixels, there are about 6 small widescreen monitors in a paroramic arrangement for exterior visuals and two larger monitors for gauges, much like VRinsight products(which are just additional moni…

Hey all,I finally decided to have a go and start my PPL training here in Belgium.I've contacted the local flying club, and I'll be doing an initiation flight on Thursday. They have a Cessna 152 and a Robin DR400 at their disposal for flight trainings, but obviously once I have decided which one I'll fly, I will have to stick with it during my entire training, so I must choose wisely. What would you guys suggest ? Any experience ? I'm in Belgium so obviously most if not all of my flying will be in Europe. The instructor on the phone said that he Robin costs a bit more on training (like 18 euros an hour more than the Cessna), but most people choose it because it has more powe…

I have the Pilatus in FSX which I enjoy and I would like to add another plane.Win95 to FS9 I have had addons including Cessnas, Meridian, Bonanza & Baron from Dreamfleet and the PMDG 737NG and 1900D.I prefer short VFR 1-3 hour trips. Never did like flying in white-outs.Looking at the PMDG BAe Jetstream 4100 or the Flight1 Citation Mustang. Not both.Any suggestions?
