May not be new to a lot of folks, but was to me - was very surprised to watch an RJ85 doing slurry bomber work at fire here in Prescott, AZ. Got to watch a DC-10 as well - believe it is coming out of Williams in the valley (Phx metro). Interesting because the DC-10 made at least three passes. I was quite a few miles away - his spotter looked like a fly spec compared to the DC. Google Neptune Aviation for info, or Prescott Daily Courier for some news photos. Thoughts with those affected, one of my co-workers had to rush home to check his horses - hopefully everyone is safe.

Saw this on my daily RSS feeds: http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/18/toughwriter-color-cockpit-printer Interesting prototype and glad to see the technology making it onto the flight deck. Can definitely see the advantages of a color hard copy on your long range routes and in your high-range corporate birds.

Amazing how this thing looks like something from around World War 1, with its frame and fabric coverings and underpowered engines, only difference is efficiency from the sun. Goes to show the basics work all over again: http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/story/2013/06/16/solar-plane-washington.html

I'm trying to add some aircraft information to FS Commander, currently the Carenado PA46T, and the Lancair Legacy, and am not finding some of the specs that FS Commander asks for, I was wondering where you go for specs?

So the G8 is coming to Northern Ireland, and I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing not only the world leaders but also their presidential/ prime ministerial aircraft. It's going to be the first time in ages that we've had any aircraft larger than the A320s and 738s coming into Aldergrove. Securities coming down hard though with 4400 of the PNSI being joined by 3600 officers of the United Kingdom. They're also bringing back the police checkpoints. Aldergrove is mean't to stay open and accessible but I doubt I'll get close enough to get a glimpse, never mind picture as cameras in this state of security would be a bad idea.

Hi on my very old Ubuntu 10.04 the latest Wine release candidate segfaults. Also I'm awaiting my new hardware, hence I cannot test Wine for ~2 weeks or so on the latest Linux. Anyone could test Wine and report bugs. Now, it would be the right time to get FSX running well on Wine 1.6: http://www.winehq.org/ Thanks

Hi, I am scheduling AI aircraft to different airports and have noted that in mountain areas some aircraft descend to airports in the valleys and land OK, BUT some AI aircraft are descending to slowly and overshoot the runway. Can someone advise which parameters do I need to tweek in the aircraft cfg or air files to make AI aircraft descend more rapidly? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Peter Read more: http://forum.flyawaysimulation.com/forum/topic/38468/rate-of-descent/#ixzz2WCoD23Oh

to the infinite flight dev team... i think the app on iphone is spot on and much easier to use on a small device than your competitors apps. however its probably time for a new PC version. whats the likelihood of porting your windows phone app to windows (plus greater terrain detail and joystick support)?
