Into 3 overtimes at 9:29 in the third left at this point and it looks like it will continue for a while. GO BOSTON! :Nail Biting: I feel sorry for the Europeans watching this.. Call in sick! EDIT: and of course, one minute after I post this Chicago scores and wins the first of seven. With a double redirect wouldn't you know. Sheech.

...is a movie on Netflix starring Walter Matthau. He is a stooge in an airshow, plays a pretend drunk in the audience waving a whiskey bottle around. Runs and hops into a biplane and taxis slowly then accelerates. Suddenly he does a ground loop and winds up hanging upside down inside the plane now resting on the ground, he is still strapped in, unhurt. The rescue team unstraps him and removes him. All part of the act. Any of you real pilots think this is a stunt that could be done on cue by a professional stunt flyer? Later in the movie he pulls the same stunt as part of a con game involving stolen money. The idea is that he can pull this stunt off regularly and nev…

  9. It's been a rough conference finals for Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby. He's been held scoreless by the Bruins in the first two games of the series, both losses, and now he's taking shots both on the ice and in the air. A few members of the Boston media shared this story today about a JetBlue pilot making fun of the Hart Trophy finalist on a flight back from Pittsburgh this morning. Baby crying in back of Jet Blue flight packed w/Boston media. Pilot just got on intercom and asked if "Sidney Crosby was in the back crying" — Joe Haggerty (@HackswithHaggs) June 4, 2013 From the Boston Globe. Have a Blue Chip, Sidney.

I paid for Infinite Scuba and downloaded it a couple of months ago, and when I tried to load the game, the computer screen went black (the cursor arrow shows up white, but otherwise the screen is entirely black), there are no menu bars or commands anywhere, I can't make it quit through keyboard commands, and my only alternative is to shut the computer down and restart it, preventing the game from loading. I've tried it off and on for the past couple of months, and every single time the same thing happens. I guess this was the worst expenditure of $10 I've ever made considering that I not only don't get use of the product, but also that it causes me tons of frustration and…

Looks like BA is doing some heavy modernization, which unfortunately means their 744's will be sent packing. I didn't see a timeframe listed for phasing out the 744's, but it sounds like in about 4-5 years or so. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-06-10/british-airways-to-get-boeing-787s-from-june-26-a380-week-after.html?cmpid=yhoo

WWDC has kicked off with the annual Keynote. Apple have come out with some really awesome new stuff ranging from MacBook Air with Haswell chips. To the all new Mac Pro with its really unique cylinder design (looks kinda like a trash can to me). Some really nice Apple hardware if you ask me! The thing I've been looking forward to the most...OS X and iOS 7. OS X Maverick is the new software for Macintosh computers, it features some really nice features, from Airplaying in full screen on your TV to reducing battery usage on your Mac. The most intriguing of them all though, is iOS 7. The really fresh new design, designed by Jony Ive. It has really changed since the previ…

Hello AVSIM Members, I noticed that a 737-800 operating TUIfly Flight 2114 (Dusseldorf to Las Palmas) has squawked 7700 (general emergency) and after a rapid descent appears to be diverting to Paris (I don't know if it will be Orly or CDG, although on Orly LiveATC I couldn't hear anything pertaining to the aircraft). Does anyone have anymore info? -abasa12 EDIT - Just touched down on runway 06 at ORY.

Delta Air Lines Inc. is dropping Memphis, Tenn., as a hub airport starting this fall. The airline says the Memphis hub is not making money. It's cutting daily flights there to 60 per day from the current 96. It's also cutting 230 jobs. The reductions begin on Sept. 3, right after Labor Day weekend and the end of the busy summer travel season. The cuts are laid out in a memo from Delta executives to workers on Tuesday. Most of the flying to be cut is on 50-seat regional jets, which Delta is phasing out. Memphis was a hub for Northwest Airlines before it was acquired by Delta in 2008. Delta said at the time that it planned to keep all Northwest hubs. This is a sad ite…

I've come across a nice article on a possible new twist to a favorite hobby among us flight simmers: a hybrid of plane spotting and a "neighborhood watch" of sorts, keeping an eye on airport grounds for suspicious activity. This is a very interesting read, and would be a nice break for spotters unfairly being seen as security risks. I miss the old days of parking right next the perimeter fence to watch traffic at my local airfield. http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/04/travel/plane-spotters-versus-terrorists/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

Recently, an extra B744 has been flying to Phoenix. Last month, on what I think I remember was the first Wednesday of the month, a British Airways 747-400 flew over at around 2:30PM. Here in Phoenix the scheduled landing is at around 5:15, so when I got home I looked at flightaware and saw an extra flight had been taken. This flight then left about 10 minutes before the "Scheduled" B744 landed. However, yesterday, the first Wednesday in June, this occurred once again. This aircraft flew in under the number BA/BAW9069, and left on BA/BAW9068. This flight again landed around 2:45PM and departed around 5:00PM. Does anybody know any reason this flight can be taken, I…

Hi, Does anyone know where the first 747-8I (N6067E) went? The last photo on A.NET of it was in August of last year, and it looked like it was in storage. Every other source only has videos and photos of it from around June-July 2011. Can anyone please shed some light on what happened to this aircraft?

  25. NASA can no longer afford to maintain the 1,100-foot-long Hangar One at Moffett Federal Field in California that was designed in the 1930s. It was used to house the reconnaissance dirigible USS Macon, with its associated Sparrowhawk aircraft that literally hooked onto the airship in flight, and the USS Akron. The Macon used its 4,500 horsepower to cruise at 85 mph. Both eventually crashed, leaving the building without a mission. The Navy transferred the naval air station to NASA in the 1990s to become part of Ames Research Center. Now you have a chance to save a piece of history. NASA is taking bids on a contract to replace the siding of the huge hangar and operate …
