Hi guys, do you know if is there a site that let you filter flights by aircraft type or routes? I try to explaine me better: Suppose I want to fly with B738 from LIRF to other destinations to choose from, is there something? Or if I want to view which aircrafts operates LIPZ-LIRF route fro example? I know flightaware and flightradar24 but if I well remember you can't do this type of search and the sites show online flights only, correct? Thanks for your help.

I got a discovery flight as a Christmas present this year and loved every second of it. It was like being on the most awesome roller coaster ride ever. How many of you have experienced real world flying from the cockpit?

http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0307/374557-dublin-airport/ Not very much info, looks like a Metroliner though. Wasn't it a Metroliner that had that terrible crash in Cork in February 2011. Ireland has a not so great relationship with the type I guess -_-

I like to play around with Flightradar and Flightaware and and today I came across a Qantas Boeing 747 flight from Sydney to Avalon near Melbourne. There are no 747 passenger services between these two airports, this flight was likely for scheduled maintenence of the aircraft or a cargo run, and being a short distance would've been light on fuel. Flightaware is excellent in that it archives up to the minute data on all airline flights including speed, altitude, coordinates, VS, etc. This particular flight managed some pretty impressive climb/descent rates.... The flight Climb Descent - FL400 to 10,000ft in 8 minutes!

While not as large of an aircraft, this one had a more tragic outcome as all 10 on board are no longer alive. Hopefully the saying about these things coming in threes is wrong in this case. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/07/alaska-plane-crash_n_3559269.html

I would like to update everyone regarding the system issues that appeared to crop up over this last weekend and the steps we have taken to remedy those issues to the extent that we have been able. First, let me put this rubric to bed; the system issues WERE NOT caused by the addition or modification to the forums software. Some people like to harp about us adding functions and having things "break" when we do. That is not the case and in fact, we have not added new functionality in quite some time. If anything, we are guilty of removing TOO many functions. We noticed issues started to crop up on the morning of June 27th; that's last Thursday, and it started just b…

Hi, Basically I am in the market for a new computer when the PMDG 777 is released.. I am using a Q6600 @3.6Ghz with 4GB Ram and a Nvidia 9800 GFX card at the moment. It runs Windows 8 at the moment and to be honest does most things I need it to, but for games and FSX it does really struggle. I don't just play FSX, I'm often playing things like Civilization V which my machine struggles with later on in the game and other strategy games that are similar. Other than that it's word processing, e-mail, web browsing. My plan is to retire the Q6600 and turn it into a NAS.. I'll probably under clock it to about 1.5GHz and literally have it sit on my LAN as NAS provi…

Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone listened to or knew of any Flight Sim podcasts out there? I listen to podcasts during my commute to work and I sometimes really enjoy listening to podcasts about my favorite hobby. However, I haven't found any in the iTunes store that are kept up to date. The last series I listened to was FS Break, but I haven't seen a new episode from them since February. Would anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

I thought everyone would find this interesting. These stats are taken from our Geolocation system. Needless to say, I was very surprised to see the Philippines as the fifth most populous source of our membership. Really? More so than Canada?

This story takes piracy to new highs, read it in the link below. Here's a summary:An user browses a torrent sight looking for new FS software, not to download but to see what is new.He sees the L39 and goes to the developers web site.Likes what he sees and goes to a local store and buys a professional packaged boxed copy.Problem is the software just came one and no boxed copies exist.Someone has produced a printed box / installer for the warez and is selling the software before the developer or publisher has!You can see it unfold at LotusSimhttp://www.lotussim.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=70

We have added a new feature that everyone should find useful. It is the "I Am Away" notice. Once enabled it will put a message where everyone can see that you are away and with a small explanation, if you chose to enter one. You can access it via your User Control Panel / Settings:

Thinking back, what FS breakthroughs do you remember or left an impression on you? First aircraft night lighting ( window lights showing on the wings, logo lights, wing lights illuminating the fuselage etc) I remember seeing was a 757 from Bob Klemm's Meridian Airlines virtual. He had a good team over there. First Southwest "Shamu" livery- Project Freeware Group- I miss them. First Animated thrust reversers- A JAS 777 where the cowling actually moved. First fairly realistic looking piston twin- Abacus Piper Navajo- for its day, it was pretty good. First commercial dev squabble- Carenado vs FSD over some supposedly "pinched' seat cover textures. Sec…

I was about to get the TrackIR 5 to use with FSX and X-Plane 10, but with the news about the upcoming occulus rift VR glasses, I'm not so sure anymore. What are your opinions on this? The VR glasses sound like it would totally make the flight simming experience very immersive and thats what is sparking my interest the most. Not sure how well it will work with flight sims but it certainly sounds like cool technology to get yourself "inside" the game and actually feel as though you're there.
