Well, it is that time of the year again. Time for a lone wanderer in the wilderness to wonder if there is any chance of seeing a UK Flightsim Show in 2025. It has been over five years since I graced the holy chapel that is Hangar 1 at RAF Cosford, and I am not getting any younger. I keep praying that the gods will look down kindly on us, and move all of the required pieces into place on the great flight simulation chess board in the sky. I want to feel that excitement again that I experienced driving down to my selected Premier Inn hotel the day before the show. I want to see Raul, Monika, Kevin, Erich, and Steve again. Special friends who made my visits even more enjoyab…

My aging father is back in the hospital, but he has been before he's like the come back kid. My oldest brother that lives in Detroit after a gig, tripped over his guiltar and in his attempt to try to save that guitar crashed down and gave himself a concussion… He went home and went to bed, and two days later family checks in, yep brain bleed, two weeks after that night still brain bleed, not looking good… This is a situation where father and first born son are in hospital and no one is sharing to each other the situation between to not compromise each recovery… Anyhow I’ve been on here for a very long time but never shared like this before, all things considered…

Well. I thought the new Oblivion Remastered would be my go-to game for a while, but then I was hit with this! The only downside of this amazing experience so far is exactly what I feared it might be: My age. The days when I had a whole summer vacation fueled by soda and raw meat my mom slipped under the door, while wondering why adults needed something as inconvenient as sleep are over, as is my once unslakable patience for writing page after handwritten page of scribbled spell combos, level maps, obscure tips, ability lists and God knows what else, in my single minded determination to reach the end of a given game. I’m going on memory alone on this one, an…

I never heard of dark sky sanctuaries until I ran across this. https://getpocket.com/explore/item/oregon-is-now-home-to-the-world-s-largest-dark-sky-sanctuary I discovered New Mexico has 5 dark sky sanctuaries. My wife was in an astronomy club here before she died and once a month the club would go out and look through telescopes. My wife had reflector and sometimes I would go out with her. Drive ten miles in any direction outside the lights or Roswell and the number of stars you can see is incredible. The night sky the way it's supposed to look. We have no industrial air pollution and sit at an altitude of about 3600 feet. On most days I can see t…

Does anyone else agree with me? If I want to look up anything, why does everything these days have to be in Video format? All I want is a list of clear instructions, I do not need to sit through a video lasting 10 minutes of more, let alone in an accent that may be difficult to understand. What is wrong with: 1) open this. 2) Do that 3) etc. Can people really not read and understand these days? 10) End of moan.😁

This is probably gonna seem like a weird thread, but today I'm musing on the internet, and the availability to instantaneous, seemingly infinite amounts of data, often in real-time, and what that means and how it affects us as people. Because... Somewhere, somewhen, my former habit of visiting libraries, finding dark corners in abandoned isles and curling up with a pile of books in my youthful data-searches seems to have disappeared, and without me even noticing, been replaced first by embedded online text links, then Googling, and now just verbally querying the nearest AI wannabe. Loooooong gone are the sets of Grolier, Britannica and other encyclopedias (…

I wanted to try installing some models, because I enjoy flying with VATSIM. However after turning on AI-Manager and setting up the OCI, it still says "No package detected". Is there a fix for this?
