Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. You can figure why when you watch the video below. Legal cars in the UK are designed to reduce injury to pedestrians with softer bumpers, crumple zones and no sharp corners. The guy in the video had no serious injuries.

Another one of my favorites and I just saw it again this afternoon on TCM. Filmed in my home town of San Francisco I enjoy the famous car chase scenes which includes a lot of locations I remember as a boy growing up in that city. But another chase scene in that movie that is seldom mentioned is the foot chase across the taxiways and tarmac of San Francisco International Airport around and under taxiing B707s and B737s. I'll bet I have seen Bullit almost a dozen times. But the next time it is one the schedule I'll watch it yet again. Noel

Hoping to hear/see others as the two day event kicks off today at 3pm local time. (KLAL) Open to all MSFS, XP, P3D and FSX users. Check out the PilotEdge webpage for more info. If not a member of PE you can use a free 2 week trial to be part of the event. I flew in from PDX over the past week on both PE and SI using the Piston Duke and currently parked at Slow-cala airport KOCF.

So, when I'm doing career mode (or just a long haul), I'd like to play some music in the background. Any recommendations for some nice classical/instrumental stuff? Maybe for different sceneries - desert, mountain, city, forest? I asked ChatGPT and it actually did a decent job, so I thought I'd share, and maybe get to know some of your recommendations as well Desert (Expansive, Mysterious, Timeless) Philip Glass – Koyaanisqatsi Soundtrack (Minimalist, meditative) Ludovico Einaudi – Nightbook (Dreamy piano with a sense of vastness) Hans Zimmer – Dune Soundtrack (Epic, ethereal, and fitting for desert landscapes) Ravi Shankar – Ragas (Sita…

Only one man was ever arrested for the Jack the Ripper murders. Earlier in life, he had also been arrested for the assassination of President Lincoln. Dr. Francis Tumblety. John Wilkes Booth was a famous and wealthy stage actor with a wide circle of high class associates and friends. Among them a medical medicine inventor Dr. Tumblety. Most of the those arrested were soon released and not charged as there was nothing linking them to the crime. Dr. Tumblety moved all around America, some say whenever the police became suspicious of the medical "cures" he was selling. He was single and often in the company of ladies of questionable repute. One day after the …

Endeavor Flight 4819: Information about Endeavor Air 4819 flight crew Thursday, Feb. 20, 6:30 p.m. EST Endeavor Air and Delta are correcting disinformation in social media containing false and misleading assertions about the flight crew of Endeavor Air 4819. - Captain: Mesaba Airlines, a progenitor company of Endeavor Air, hired the captain in October 2007. He has served both as an active duty Captain and in pilot training and flight safety capacities. Assertions that he failed training events are false. Assertions that he failed to flow into a pilot position at Delta Air Lines due to training failures are also false. - First Officer: Hi…

Hi all just starting my YT premiere. Hoping to be different than all the 1000s of others already producing content for the FS hobby.... and so many are fabulous. I won't try to make money on this only to have fun with other simmers that might want some tips / hints in a fast, no fluff way... I hate searching for hours of video to get to the meat of the topic I am searching for , so I would rather label and list in short blasts of pertinent material hoping only a real pilot with 11,000 hours and 30 years plus of jets and turboprops can do. Lots of flightsimmers are experienced. Lots of real pilots are experienced. Some are both... that's my category plus 3x the hours on si…

I'm no Egyptologist, or even a competent amateur, but this is what I glean from books and online: It's the 18th dynasty. If Israel was in Egypt and the book of Exodus is based on facts, there's the best chance it all went down in the 18th dynasty. Just before we have Canaanites ruling in Egypt, (the Hyksos Pharaohs). We see the first record of a belief in one all powerful God, instead of many fighting weak Gods (Ahmoses I, first Pharaoh of 18th dynasty) . We see a daughter of Pharaoh (Hatsheput) raise a non royal to greatness granting him over 60 titles (too many duties for one man to actually perform) who falls out of the Egyptian records completely 40 years later a…
