We just had a major storm the airlines are just getting back into service, here are some pretty strong headwind langings into Wellington this morning, Dash 8 and ATRs

 

Nice one - I could hear the clinching of the sphincter muscles and deep sighs of relief - even here in Australia

I have landed there a few times- and I always think that it looks just like an aircraft carrier - and needs wires

They don't call it "Windy Wellington" for nothing, that's for sure 🙂

One of Air New Zealand’s captains used to be a former Royal Navy pilot and when asked about Wellington landings he’d say “piece of cake, because the runways is not moving too” 🤣 

As my former wife's grandmother used to say.... you know if somebody is from Wellington because their hand will be firmly holding their hat on.
