How cool is this! For the very first time ever, a 747 is landing at KGYY. I wish it weren't dark so I could watch Air Force 1 land there! I say "landing" because it's currently 4 nm from touchdown. :Applause:

Well, my trip is fast approaching. Leaving for Vietnam on Korean Air....Airbus 380....Prestige Class, on Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon from JFK. Seems like it goes over the Polar Cap down through Siberia and China onto Seoul, South Korea. Stay there for 2 hours and on to Hanoi on a 777 for about 4 hours. Long flight, but there are 2 bars with couches and this class has seats that go to 180 degrees into a bed. Cost of upgrade is around $10.000 (round trip) but for an 18 hour flight, it seems worth it for my Wife and me. I look forward to reading the forum here, but won't be flying (simming) obviously. Should be a good trip, and quite exciting I'm told. St…

Hi guys is there a tool payware or freeware for FSX/P3D that allow to take automatic screenshot of external view while you are in VC? This feature would be very useful during landing and takeoff. Infact I think all of us make a replay of takeoff or landing in external view and make a specific and repeated screenshots. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Hi, My FSX is not working, and I just had forgotten this on Airbus: If we disconnect A/P but not the A/THR, the plane will manage speed in speed mode. But will it still manage the FMS speeds or will it only manage our last speed? Thanks

Anyone knows where to get this freeware addon? It is mentioned in the Aerosoft Airbus manual as a good tool to calculate takeoff performance data but I can't find it anywhere. (Pity TOPCAT doesn't support the Airbus 318!) Or maybe somebody knows another tool or site I could use to calculate this kind of data?

Hi fellas, This morning I was searching the net for info on real world procedures in the USA. I came across this extensive document with info needed to fly in Washington state. So for those of you owning Orbx PNW it may come in handy http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/nr/rdonlyres/8ac7d85b-f2ee-4751-9621-5979708f553b/0/airportreferenceguide.pdf

Tongue in cheek... A sim crash is annoying...a RW crash is somewhat worse. If your GNS crashes in the sim, EVERYTHING crashes. In the RW you fly old-school. Flying into a storm in FSX is fun. RW it's not. Your right foot is way tired-er in the RW...small planes...p-factor. RW, your dog doesn't need to go out, your kids don't want to show you their latest magic trick, your wife doesn't ask you to go to the grocery store but EVERYBODY has to go pee at different times. Gas prices...and in the sim, you don't have to wait as long for a fuel truck. Sim=less drafty (I hope). RW=less alcohol (I hope). RW=no config file, better frames, explainable blurries. RW, Pause doesn…

Chicago flights stopped after fire at FAA facility - CNN.com I understand grounding flights at ORD and MDW. However, what about flights at cruising altitude flying through the Great Lakes Region? Would they still be able to pick up Indy, Minneapolis, or KC?

Hi For example, if we say that it won't trim above 14 degree angle, what does it mean? Is the trim angle the pitch angle, but with a THS? What is trim angle? And between which line is it? (horizon, velocity, where the aircraft is pointing...) Thanks

Hi, this is not related to sim but just for general knowledge! I am learning and I have some doubts about the FBW system, Airbus, thanks to help! Wikipedia: " *Fly-by-wire* (FBW) is a system that replaces the conventional manual flight controls of an aircraft with an electronic interface. The movements of flight controls are converted to electronic signals transmitted by wires (hence the fly-by-wire term), and flight control computers determine how to move theactuators at each control surface to provide the ordered response. The fly-by-wire system also allows automatic signals sent by the aircraft's computers to perform functions without the pilot's input, as …

I never get sick at all in 3D movies, and shakey-Cam doesn't bother me in the slightest. So I was pretty surprised to find that only the very highest resolution and absolute lowest persistence in the Oculus didn't make me want to tear my eyes out. Go figure..... What do you think? Try this Oculus simulator and see. http://vr.mkeblx.net/oculus-sim/
