Hangar Chat
This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here. Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc. Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view. folks...be warned, I just got an attachment-loaded email supposedly from Amazon.com with my June 14/2014 order confirmation as an attachment. My viral program parsed the attachment and removed it as a certified viral load out. I don't shop at Amazon.com Be careful...do NOT open any file...no matter what the bait, if you know you have not ordered at the place of business...DELETE the email with attachment RIGHT AWAY. Contact the target business to find out about any order.....but NOT via the attachment. Also, never open any attachment, if unexpected EVER FROM SOMEONE YOU DO KNOW...for their contact list could have been bot-raided...and the unexpected attachmen…

This doesn't amount to much in my opinion, as far as I can see this is just another revenue stream for Flight 1. Nothing new is being done that I can see from the following; Flight 1 just released a press release announcing they are partnering with DoveTail on the new FSX.... July 2014 Following the recent announcement that Dovetail Games has acquired the rights to distribute the multi-award winning Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Gold Edition via Valve’s popular digital retail channel Steam, the company is pleased to announce that it will be working in partnership with Flight1 for the launch. A developer and publisher of flight simulation content, Flight1 is best known for…

http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/13/world/americas/brazil-plane-crash/index.html?c=homepage-t Near Santos. I can tell you that a lot of people respected this man. There's some conspiracy theories that the plane might have been sabotaged or manipulated. Hopefully it's not true.

So last week, I was requested by my boss to take a trip to Michigan to do some field work for my job. I was rather excited since it had been a while since I've flown and any chance to fly and I'll jump on it. Unfortunately he boss wanted to go on the cheap and got me tickets from KIAD to KGRR via KATL. I'm not a fan of layovers but it was a small sacrifice to get out of town for a couple of days and get paid for it. Anywho, I flew out of KIAD via Delta and my first leg was on a B717-200, which wasn't a bad flight considering that the flight was full up due to a previous flight being grounded due to an aircraft issue (coincidentally it was a MD-88 that got grounded…

Did anyone see any major vendors there? I saw Redbird, but none of the others. Curious is this just me? Why isn't flight sim more represented? I think people would be surprised at the current level of quality/ modern hardware.

I haven't seen anyone posting that they are going to Lancaster, TX. the last weekend of this month. I had a great time at the Wichita, KS. meet up last year so I was wondering if I'd see the same faces again?

long awaited P3D support is officially restored for Night Environment with P3D v2.3 i haven’t tested in person; but from what I’ve gathered so far talking with LM engineers they made it work even better under P3D than FSX; and will continue to enhance Night Environment under P3Dw with future releases http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/82743-night-environment-soon-compatible-with-predar3d/

I'm not an Elvis fan but I am a fan of classic aircraft. EPE the people who own Graceland want the jets removed for some unknown reason(greed is my guess) I fear that this would mean that both jets would have to be scrapped. The 880 is one last survivors of its kind(the others are both derelicts) and was one of the fastest production airliners in history. Please take a few seconds and like visit this page and show your support with a facebook like. http://www.elvisplanesmuststayatgraceland.com/.

Hey people, I am a student in US, CT. Currently I am Junior and will graduate in 2016. Right now I am trying to find the colleges that I want to apply in future years. For now Embry-Riddle Miami, is my first choice. (Please don't hate and disagree, just help.) I wanted to know if you know any good Aviation colleges, those provide Licenses up to Commercial and Bachelors degree at the same time as Embry-Riddle. I don't care where it is, I don't care how expensive it is. I am still considering all of the options and I will need any help possible Thanks.

Shouting or posting a Topic Title or post in ALL CAPS is considered in forums around the Internet as being very rude (it really hurts the eyes too). We won't tolerate it here either and AVSIM moderators will be looking out for topics or posts that are in all CAPS or excessively using capital letters. It's not a problem if you use all caps for emphasis (i.e., AVSIM is the BEST website on the Internet) but excessive use of caps will result in the topic or post being removed by our moderators. We would also appreciate our membership to be on the lookout for these types of violations and use the AVSIM Report System at the bottom of each post to bring the violation to our atte…
