  2. Hi there. Wall of text to explain why Im asking this question, skip to bottom for question. I'm currently going through the process of getting my medical to start flying lessons after I finish uni. I have a hearing loss meaning that I have to wear two baha's. Despite this I have been told that I could still obtain a class 1 medical from the FAA with the notice *hearing amplification required*. In order to use the communications systems in aircraft I will have to use a 3.5mm to audio input for my hearing aid. In general aviation aircraft it is not hard to get an adaptor in order to plug into the aircrafts communication system. My question is what standard of a…

  3. Anyone have any leads on what deals will be available this year? I remember last year Orbx had a lot of regions dirt cheap (regions like PNW for $12) and Caronado/Alabeo had a lot of planes 50%. Should we expect more of the same this year? I wish PMDG and FlyTampa would have sales but they never do :( Anyone have any leads?

HiMy son, now 13 and starting to anticipate a drivers permit approached me about the availability of a flight sim like tractor-trailer sim. I saw one where you go racing through the streets of Chicago with a tractor but that's not what he wants. He's innterested in being able to hitch-up (if that's what truckers call it); hit the open road and drive point A to Point B, look at the scenery, pass an occasional car, observe speed limits, deal with orange barrel zones and rush hour, maneuver through city streets that aren't made for trucks and then back-up to a dock type of sim. Be able to go across town or across the country LA - NY just like we do with FS. He'd also like …

Since getting the T7 I have become interested in long range procedures. would anyone know if when a crew man takes his break on say a 16 hour flight if he is being paid during that rest time or does he have to clock out seeing these guys are being paid well over 200$ an hour? Also is the same captain in charge if he is on break or is he relieved of all duties until his return? In other words would he be called back up in the event of an abnormality? Does the same crew that flies the departure also fly it to the gate or is there a complete crew rotation?

Having reached its second year, War thunder celebrates and continues to move ahead! Beyond the original planes, simultaneous ground combat has been implemented, and sea combat, including the possibility of submarine warfare is in the works, making for a complex, integrated, multi-theatre environment. Its hard not to be a bit jealous of all the money and manpower going into this. Servers are packed with tens of thousands of people at any given time which is very impressive, and kind of belies any narrative that there is no longer an interest in aviation. Good stuff!! General changes: New air and ground vehicles Possibility to view detailed a…

Heres a wild vision. A windowless plane so that the entire fuselage is a lookout window. Freaky? Claimed to be the future. Personally I see the costs being astronomical for something like that the way they describe unless they have some secret. http://youtu.be/Ga3PMsrHpjU

  14. Premature Decommissioning... Both Jets are/were outstanding with no real competition in their arena yet phased out for lesser products. It's sad when in comparison aircraft like the C130 and B-52 are still in service today in the role and organizations they started with. F-14 - Let's face it the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is no F-14. These jets aren't as fast as the F-14 and on many fronts when it comes to weapons options and range it's not even a competition. Just like the B-52 the F-14 could have been upgraded in many areas including newer avionics and more fuel efficient engines hence taking the Iranian component off the table (Iran has F-14's given before t…

A site at http://nwaha.org/ has attempted to post comments on my blog. It looks like a Windows support site, but it's very suspicious, encouraging the user to download "fixes" to Windows problems, which are actually executables. Whois reports the owner as a proxy, so whoever runs it is hiding. There is no contact info on the site. Recommend not using this site.

Hi, Does anyone know if there is any museum in the world dedicated to Microsoft Flight Simulator? I have a lot of software (some in diskettes) since the beginning of the saga (Apollo, etc) boxes and wanted to give this software for reasons of space. Any idea? I'm willing to give everything to a place where he could be useful for lovers of Flight Simulator. Awaiting news Ricardo Nuno Cotrim

  19. KC-10 refuels another and then an F-16 and A-10 Warthogs; pretty neat Unlike the KC-135 tanker where the boom operator (boomer) lies on his stomach to view out a window to refuel other aircraft, the KC-10 boomer sits in a comfortable chair and looks out a picture window during refueling. Think what it would look like if a large aircraft like the C-5M, C-17, B-52, B1, or B-2 came into view. Adjust your speakers to catch the cockpit conversations. http://www.liveleak.com/ll_embed?f=61e402f990ac

We all have those off days when nothing is going right. Let's hear the stories of your worst landings and why it happened. Maybe others can learn from our mistakes or at the very least we get amusing stories of hot dogging that Triple 7 in at the last second! This landing of shame here at KAUS was on VatSIM and was partly my fault and partly the controller on duty. He cut me in way to short on my final and I didn't feel like going around again. I was tired…
