Before I re-installed FSX about a month ago, I used to enjoy flying the Flight1 Premier Eclipse business jet. For whatever reason, I cannot download and re-open or re-install the jet. Do any of you have it, and is there still the availability of the jet? I upgraded to Windows 10 and am using Winzip. I love this jet, and I miss it. Stan

I'm not going to relate the entire background story, but in a blog I read I found one of the wittiest puns I can ever recall reading or hearing... Okay, it's only vaguely "aviation related," but it's darn sure funny!

Wondering if a night environment addon with this kind of surreal lights could sell well. Imagine VFR/N would be spectacular. https://www.storehouse.co/stories/r1qx6

A couple of weeks ago, a new airport, Strigino Nizhy Novgorod Intl, Russia was released by JustSim. I understand that they are Russian developers and this is their first payware airport (it got ten (out of ten) five-star customer reviews ("verified customer user") on Simmarket in the first 4 days of its release). As usual after installation, I did a bit of exploring using a combination of the FSX Default Airtrike and Orbx's BOB. I noticed this on the side of one of the terminal buildings: I have never before seen a developer's name/logo embedded in flight sim scenery. In the absence of it being there in real life (I assume), a touch of artistic licence? …

A portion of this video appeared yesterday on CBS Morning. No one bothered to explain who Austin Meyer was; pretty sure the general population has no idea. It was actually a stunt done on a private road with a "safety" pilot in the right seat. http://youtu.be/ifpBWxTKhLU

I notice that JustFlight are offering a few RAZBAM aircraft for sale at half price until September 16, and one of these packages is the Harrier GR7/GR9. I am curious to know about the quality of this aircraft, particularly the VTOL/STOL flight characteristics. Would any existing users of this aircraft recommend it? I am looking for something that can basically get in and out of anywhere, but is not a helicopter. My current joystick does not have a twist feature for accurate flying of helicopters, so I would be interested to know how VTOL flight is controlled with this product. Any comments about the flight characteristics, and the quality of the 3D model/VC/textures e…

Truth being said, the two, actually 3 if we count PSX that can run as either 32 or 64 bit depending on the Java version one has installed, flight simulators that better fulfil my needs and wants as a simmer are indeed, still, 32 bit, and one is dx9, the other dx10... I'm talking about FSX:SE, with the Fixer and dx10 mode active, and my pmdg 777, a2as and the realair legacy, plus asn, rex soft clouds, orbx ftx global and a single airport scenery by aerosoft ( madeira ), and the latest release of il2 battle of Stalingrad ( IL-2 BoS) released this week, and of course Aerowinx PSX... In all aspects, ranging from the use I give to them, to the quality of flight dynamic…

Hi, everybody. The EZCA v2 project approaches to completing blueprint stage after a big pause. Before release I want to show new effect (the camera is attached to a flexible wing). It will be possible to feel all dynamics of behavior of the airplane during flight. (only on those models airplanes on which wing bending is provided). The effect will be switched on in the new version as a part of a new physical engine. Look this: I ask to evaluate working of this effect and speak any impressions. I will listen to any criticism. The effect is strengthened for demonstration. Not all. Besides other, in the new version the algorithm of shaking is completely rem…

Hello. I have had some questions about ground operations for aircraft, about APU usage, A/C carts and beginning taxiing. My first question is, when is usually the APU started and shut down? The way I've been doing it is I start the APU 5 minutes before pushback during departure, and shut it down during de-boarding on arrival. How is it done in the real world? My second question is related to the first one. Do you use Air Conditioning carts on the ground to control cabin temperature when the APU isn't running? I have been attaching it to the aircraft along with the ground power unit. And finally, do you have to wait for the "Cabin Ready" signal before start…

Getting a little hung up on ISA DEV when you have a minus C So lets say at FL100 and the OAT is 2c My calculation is FL100 x 2 = 20 then take 15 minus 20 = -5c thats ISA TEMP at 10000ft I would then take OAT 2 minus -5 = -3 ISA DEV but the correct answer is ISA DEV 6c Why is that? If you have a minus you are going down the temp?

I wanted to write a little bit this morning, about the event, and my thoughts as a "lifetime" flight simmer, because that is what I intend to be. Yesterday I took the PMDG 777 from KMIA to EDDT as part of the titled event. just shy of 10 hours, and my computer handled it like a champ. But, more on that in a bit. First, for the event itself: · FSS stations, for the most part, were outstanding. I had ONE problem "controller" that unfortunately I had to report for his attitude on the air. All, myself included, if you cannot handle the stress of an enormous event, don't work it. If you are not prepared, don't fly it. Literally thousands of people plan for this eve…
