So, who managed to get to the Cosford 2015 Flightsim Show? I was at the front door a full 50 minutes before opening time. In fact, I think I scared off one or two other early arrivals because they thought that I was an official doorman with the UK2000 ID card around my neck! The show was even better (and busier) than last year. The queue shortly before the doors opened was very long, and they just kept coming for quite some time! A really impressive sight. I met three guys the night before at a local restaurant, and plenty more during the show itself. I also made "second contact" with others that I had met at last year's show. It was a real pleasure to talk to you all…

I departed Atlanta last Friday at a time when I've never seen it so busy. Lines were 200-300Y long from the initial screening point. As a result of the influx of pax, (maybe they do this during peak times and this was just the first time I've seen it happen), they shut down the north terminal checkpoint to anyone who was not pre-check and moved everyone to the main checkpoint area. Once you exited the holding line, they put everyone through about 8 rows of serpentine ropes. In the middle of this area they had a corral where two DHS agents with K9s were orbiting, sniffing each pax and their luggage at least twice. From there, TSA agents checked tickets and moved people …

I just don't know........ These things look like an absolutely enormous investment in time, passion and money. I might be afraid to fly it, because if it crashed I might just burst into tears! But is it really the biggest?

Hello everyone. Before you all say to go to Fight 1 forums and post something there, I already did. Just trying to get help from all directions. The only way I can look around is to to apply the hat button of my joystick... I have tried nearly everything, reinstalls, disabling antivirus, updating and downdating, several different config setting, I have googled it, looked at other forum posts, and watched millions of youtube videos. If anyone has an answer... PLEASE HELP!!! Avery Hammerman

The new UK Consumer Rights Bill comes into force today, 1 October 2015. One interesting aspect of the bill is that it covers digital content, including downloads. The bill says: (Quote) The Consumer Rights Bill sets out what rights and remedies you would have when you pay for digital content. It clarifies that digital content would have to be: Of satisfactory quality, Fit for purpose, and Meet any description. If the digital content didn’t meet these quality rights, you would be entitled to a repair or a replacement of the digital content where practical, or failing that (that is, if the repair or replacement would take an unreasonable amount of time …

So much talent and skill out there. So much passion, that occasionally, somebody who doesn't see what they want on the market simply throws their hands up and decides to make it themselves. How many projects like that? Flightgear, of course, but how many others? Here are two you may (or may not) have heard of. Are there more? http://www.ysflight.com/ http://seveng-f18.com/about.php

This software is great for a break from flying. It is a freeware (beta) software that models the entire known universe with a mixture of real and procedurally generated stars, planets, and galaxies that you can traverse at up to 300 million light years per second. I've been playing with it a few hours and it gives you an amazing sense of the size of the universe. What's most incredible is that it's all the work of one man. http://en.spaceengine.org/

Hi guys - First of all - i am aware that its a long path and many years of studies to be an airline pilot, so it has got nothing to do with that. Lets say you master a plane like for example the pmdg 737, or the 747-400 - well, anything from PMDG - would you be able to land a plane for real if the captain fainted or something?

Dear Simmers; Its hard for me to say this, but since FS2002 I have been only flying Heavies. Now I fly the PMDG 737/777 Aerosoft Airbus. My passion to heavy A/C started as a kid being in the cockpit jump seat (My father and his father all made it to captains and then senior instructors within the same airline), so it was very natural for me to be 'attracted' to lets say a T7 vs a small GA airplane since it was already very much familiar to me. Last week I decided to give the Orbx Global freeware airports a chance. I was very much pleased with the results, in addition, all those airports are freeware, so why not? I loaded up my flightsim and selected the default Duke. …

I fly a lot of my time online, and I went over to the Pilot Edge site to check out my 50 most recent logged flights. If you haven't heard of Pilot Edge I seriously suggest you check it out - they have a decent trial period: http://www.pilotedge.net/ P3D 2.5 - 48% of my last 50 flights on PE were flown in P3D2. Fifty flights logged since May 2015. I do fly some offline but I think I split all three of my sims for that time. Oddly enough, FSX boxed and XP10 shared 26% each of my flights on PE as well. I don't fly any other sims at the moment. Anyway those numbers bring some conclusions for me. I like to fly the latest n greatest. I like shiny new tech (P3D…
