Based on several posts around the web in the last few days it looks like the new DTG sim to be released later this year will, indeed, be a 64-bit application. That's the good news. The bad news is that we'll have to buy all our add-ons again when, if ever, the 64-bit versions are ready for market. Sigh....I think I'm getting too old for this stuff..... Doug

Good morning-evening fellow simmers; With recent developments of the new Title of Dovtail Flight Simulator a very concerning thought comes to my mind- what will happen to all of my add-ons, all of my hundreds of dollars invested in addons like the PMDG, Orbx, REX, Fly Tampa, Aerosoft, Real Air, Alabeo...etc, after all, should I continue spending more more money in the upcoming new releases of those developers? There are so many new products coming out that I have been looking forward to, like the v2 747 by PMDG, Orbx Open LC N/A, the newly released Orbx SoCal, upcoming A330 by Aerosoft and many more airports like Frankfurt and Amsterdam. So...., I have personally decid…

I have British Isles 1.71 newly downloaded from Aerosoft. The PDF talks about Fine Tuning Feature, Global Light Size, StarLights,Cars Traffic Section. etc but the Config Manager has none of this, or if it has I can't find it. All I can see is General Settings, Fine Tuning (All Below, Orange, Yellow, White, Light Yellow) and Night Map (Night Texture Splash Map). The Manager is v1.2. Have I got an old Config Manager, or has old age set in...? Rob.

Been active on this forum for quite awhile, and was noticing on the right side, that they are posting that they need some income from donors to fund this forum. I guess I am a bit surprised with folks dropping lots of money to buy airports, scenery, add on aircraft, etc, some of which cost over $100, and yet there are so few donors, even among the very active members with thousands of posts. One would think that if even some of these members wouldn't donate a few dollars, they would reach their goal in a very short time. Not sure if this is the forum to post this, but since P3D and the add ons are not the cheapest thing in hobbies, a forum like this one would be well wort…

If anyone is interested in landing fees and airport charges for major airports, I have created a website that I am putting everything together in one place. The website is: sharperaviation.com Right now it is mostly US airports, but I do have a couple other airports. Everyday that I have time I try to add more. The information is as current and accurate as possible, but this information does change frequently in a lot of places. I decided to create the website because I like to add as much realism to my flights as possible. I personally like to try to add a financial/economical aspect to my flights. I have found that finding the information is easy for some ai…

I bet we will be seeing and reading a lot about these new little Personal Jets in the next few years. I sure would like to see one of our high end Developers take an interest for FSX/P3D. Maybe Milviz or Flight1. Anyone think RealAir should jump into the Jet market? I guess Flight1 has a leg up with their new GTN series. The HondaJet has the Garmin 3000 panel that uses two redirected GTN750 for the touch screens. Regards, Ray

I have a question down below at the bottom... Like many of you my laptop for traveling is not a game laptop, has no dedicated memory. It happens to be a Pentium but not even an i3 level Pentium. 64 bit Windows 8.1 (the original OS of this laptop). No versions of FS from the earliest thru FS2000 would even install. FS9 (FS2004) needed more horsepower to run (like a dedicated video card). FSX also needed MUCH better hardware. FS2002 was perfect! Despite not being a gaming laptop it ran in dense default scenery (San Francisco) at 20-23 FPS full screen, and 25-32 windowed mode. This early version boots up quicker and is more stable than FSX (very good f…

747-8 production at a new low with 20 on order and 7 of those are freighters. At a rate of 6 planes a year maybe not enough, but with the fleet aging of 20+ years by 2019, those aircraft will need to be replace. Read more on what Boeing reveals... http://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/morning_call/2016/01/boeing-reveals-plan-to-keep-the-747-alive.html

hello, This a TV show about a 15 year old boy being addicted to Flight Simulator. Here he refuses to say welcome to his sister (who he didn't see since 3 weeks) because he is landing: https://youtu.be/i6wmtPbvQNw?t=7m45s then his grandpa comes and his also angry about it. and here you can see his flight teacher forbidding him to play flight simulator, because he thinks he is to much concentrated in the instruments and not outside: https://youtu.be/i6wmtPbvQNw?t=12m14s
