Pretty interesting documentary. It aired last month in the U.S. at odd times on the Discovery channel. You can watch the complete series here if you missed it: http://theageofaerospace.com/

I'm sure there is a strong user base in here that is already retired so feedback should be diverse. My main question to all is... what do you truly plan to do when you retire? I mean, do you have a specific, for sure idea of how it will 'go down' for you? For those already retired, did you have a plan or definite ideas of what you wanted to do or how you planned to be before you actually retired? I'm trying to figure out what I might want to do or where to live but I come up empty. I have nothing in my mind that says "Yes, this is absolute what I want to do!" in retirement. Do most of you have a clear plan?

Hey Everyone, I know many of us are looking forward to DTG Flight Simulator which will be offered on the Windows Store and Steam (which is where some of us currently enjoy FSX Steam, X-Plane, and DCS). The Windows Store was Microsofts push to show that it has a commitment to the PC market, but also to try and create some cross compatibility across its various platforms, such as X-Box/Hololens/Mobile, etc. At first glance this seems like a good thing. One (in theory) could play a FIFA sports game on the PC with a friend who is using an X-Box and so on. But below the surface, this has turned into a disaster for high end games on the PC. Let me explain... A new game kno…

A poem entitled: Stutterfest I recorded my flights, I got stutters, I run out of disk space, I got stutters, I added an SSD, I maybe got less stutter, I installed 857Gb of photo scenery on my old drive, I got stutters, I increased the overclock, I got stutters, I vacuumed my fans, I got stutters, I increased priority, I got stutters, I edited the registry, I got stutters, I set AffinityMask=4097, I got stutters, I removed my Affinity Mask, I got stutters, I turned off Hyper Threading, I got stutters, I removed unnecessary Simconnect files, it crashed to desktop, I deleted uiautomationcore, it still CTD’s, I installed exception monitoring, I got stutters, I was on a twen…

I have a 9 year old grandson who is affected by Asperger's syndrome and ever since he was about three years old has been fascinated with airplanes. He has become a walking encyclopedia on airplane facts, especially war planes both vintage and modern. For the past three years I have been working with him with FSX, working on behavior control, maintaining focus, and lengthening attention span. It has been a rough flight at times, but lately we have begun to turn the corner. At Valentine's Day he and my daughter, his mother, presented me with a very nice knit pilot's shirt, complete with striped epaulets. Nice enough that I thought some of you might like one of these. …

I have to tell you about a new iPad app called Air Manager by Siminnovations, I am not affiliated in any way, but I’ve been wanting something like this since I started simming three years ago. I currently have a homebuilt sim pit, and my instruments are provided by Remote Cockpit, which gives me the six pack on my iPad. I have a second iPad (bought second hand) that I use for Remote Flight Map. Both are brilliant. Air Manager goes further, it provides 180 individual instruments, warning lights and controls that can be configured in any way you like. Now I have the six pack on one iPad and on my other, mounted into my cockpit, I have engine and additional instrum…

Well I've been following the VR world since the early 90's and today I pulled the the trigger on the Htc Vive. I couldn't decide between the HTC or the Oculus. I finally went with the Vive, I think you get more for your money. Plus a lot more....I think today's children have the best tools....look into it.. you can design in 3d... electronic's. And of course it's Steam Compatible and so the sky is the limit. The only thing which is a concern........ You better have a beast of a PC. I think Oculus missed the boat. What do you think? Just received my confirmation from Htc their shipping in May. can't wait.

I have checked out quite a few forums to see if I can resolve the EZDock External Camera View with the A2A C182. All other EZDock views are good including World Camera view, and I am aware that the A2A Walk Around Views are conflicting with the external EZDock view. I am running FSX (SP2) with Windows 7 and all other aircraft I have, run fine with EZDock, including RealAir Legacies (1 & 2), Duke and Turbine Duke although I had to delete some Camera views in the respective aircraft.cfg files to get the EZDock World views to work. All aircraft from all FSX developers are running A-OK except the A2A. I recently purchased both the A2A C182 Skylane and the A2A …

It is VERY expensive, but progressing and offering features that are making this CBT for Airbus a true temptation for your's truly... We have NEVER had a credible Airbus simulation in FSX or X-plane...Yes there are a few offers, from the original ( great ) Phoenix series to nowaday's Aerosoft's offer, and that long announced FSLabs A32X, QPAC for X-Plane, but truth is, we never had a really complex / fully detailed modern Airbus add-on. Airlinetools FlightDeck A3XX is growing towards a very promising Airbus CBT. It's the PSX of Airbus, with the huge advantage over PSX of having nice / plausible World and Weather visuals! BTW: Any of you using it ? http://w…

http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.co...t-97-1-4035347 1919 - 2016 - 97 yo I confess that, just as many other subjects pertaining to Combat Aviation, Eric's name was completely unknown to me until I started playing combat flight simulation games, like DCS and il2 BoS and even Rise of Flight. I have gained some knowledge about ww2 and ww1 combat aircraft, and air combat simulation occupies presently more than 95% of my simming time per year!

Really quick question to staff: Okay, I know neither of the DTG Flight sims have been released, but would it be appropriate to sort of prematurely start a DTG Flight Simulator forum? I'm not sure whether you usually choose to start the forum when/after products are released, but I just figured that since there are multiple DTG sim threads on Hanger chat, maybe a new DTG forum would reduce clutter on Hanger Chat. Really just a suggestion. Let me know what you think.
