Hello Guys, Im opening this thread here although is not flight sim directly related, but the problem i have also affects both P3D and X-Plane. I don't know if this is is the right place to put this, i ask moderators to move, if it's not. I recently upgraded my Card from a GTX 970 to a 980Ti and i started to have problems with some games, i got microstutters like small freezes from time to time that causes a little FPS drop of 4/5 FPS's, enough to ruin the game immersion. From my intensive testing, this is only happening in open world games, example: Euro Truck Simulator 2, Arma 3, Robocraft, Spintires, etc. Other games like Insurgency, Chivalry, CS, etc run well, …

Hello from Ron Kolesar. AKA The Blind Pilot. Is there such a thing as aonline calculator or rule of thumb or set formula for figuring out what the best leveled cruising alt should be with any aircraft from departure ICAO to Destination ICAO? Pretty much for private GA flights I'll be flying the Dassault Falcon 7x or DF7X for short. Until we get acopy of the df8x. SMILES. But all flight would be starting from my home of Erie Intl ICAO code of KERI. Now, for the third party program that blind people need to use so that we may take full control of our aircraft It's Your Plane or IYP for short, there's a career mode. I fly the b738 and b744. But when in the career mod…

I just discovered this while browsing PCFlight and thought I'd share it with you all: https://pcflight.net/aerosoft-navdatapro-charts/ http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/110856-navdatapro-charts-preview/ It'll be the same as what Navigraph offers, though. As Mathijs mentioned, "We have exactly the same data source as Navigraph and have the same condition of use." I couldn't find info on a desktop version though; perhaps it might be another project for the future? Currently only iOS as far as I know.

And this will sound surprising of course, given that some 8000 737s have been built, but hear me out: Of its category, it's the only "modern" aircraft that comes with conventional Flight Controls (no FBW). The A320, Comac C919, Sukhoi SJ 100, Embraer E190 and Bombardier CSeries are all FBW. Systems-wise, it has largely remained unchanged since the 1960's when the first 737 was introduced. Yes there's been lots of improvements in engines, avionics, aerodynamics and so on. But what's concerning systems, very little change: Just have a look at the overhead panels of every 737 generation. It's basically a 1960's aircraft with a glass-retrofit. CWS, or Control Wheel Steer…

Thought the following statistics from 1 January to the present were interesting. The P3D Forum takes the honors! I suspect the release of the latest version had something to do with the high traffic - The PMDG General Forum was a surprise. Guess everyone is checking in to see if the latest 747 has been released or any updates on the release date.

I guess the market needs a decent embraer 170/190 for p3d/fsx please. the one available in the market is outdated and lacks a lot, an upgrade would be good, but having a brand new detailed one would be great. Just a wish, to have in my hangar.

After a complete crash I have reinstalled Win7 Ultimate and am getting overclock testing complete. I have FSX Gold and tons of scenery and aircraft (ORBX Global, Vector, All regions, etc., Milviz, PMDG, RealAir, etc). Before installing/reinstalling FSX this is a good time to ask for advice: Is a move to P3D better than sticking with FSX? Any REAL advantage or disadvantage? I realize that there are strong views from both sides and do not intend to start a great debate...just asking for some down-to-earth advice. Thanks to all Regards Neal Howard

Just stumbled on this, and I think it's pretty amazing! It's sort of complex spaceship simulator, with full clickable cockpit and complex systems. Watch: Powering up from cold and dark: https://youtu.be/TGFlrRfVeN Maneuvering Tutorial: Pretty neat huh?

Hello everyone, I realize the title may anger a lot of you, but that was not the point. After reading some comments on a comparison video, I just felt the need to post this. Take a look at the comments on this comparison of PMDGs old 747, and iflys new 747. I was shocked to find people stubbornly defending PMDGs 10 year old product! Actually saying that it is superior to a 2014 product of quite high quality! Many of them insisted that the PMDG 747 had higher quality systems, and some even tried to say that the exterior modeling and VC was better! When they likely had never bought the product or even seen a good video of it! Why? Simply because it is PMDG. Now, P…

An interesting thread at one of the Aerowinx PSX sub-forums. Details PSX simulates, and are important in real life operations... http://aerowinx.com/board/index.php?topic=3544.0 Particularly informative are the details shared by a couple of 744 pilots and the link to the Singapore 773 accident at EDDM in 2011 http://avherald.com/h?article=445873f3

I'm planning a language trip to France, and have never really planned my own trip before. I don't want to go with a tour group and would much rather do things on my own, my first thing is to look for a decently cheap flight from here or near here to there, does anyone have any advice? I want to plan my trip to France when the French are actually in the country I've read they and many Europeans take holiday when the tourist season comes around, which would defeat the whole purpose of me going for the purpose of learning the language. So does anyone have advice?

I know this is probably a long shot, but I want to ask anyway. I have a Mobo steering wheel and pedals that I use when driving racing sims. I'm wondering if the pedals would be compatible for use as rudder pedals with prepar3d and/or XPlane? I dont want to buy pedals if I dont have to. If they wont work, my first option is just using the twist function of the Saitek X55 Rhino stick. Any info would be appreciated. Thanx.

I need to bump up my frequent flyer miles balance so I can have enough for two tickets later this fall. Thinking of taking a short, inexpensive round-trip flight to an airport in the SE or South Central USA where there's an onsite hotel affording excellent aircraft spotting access. I will need to take this short trip in April so the few extra miles I need can be credited to my account in time to secure frequent flyer tickets for my wife and I to the west coast in the mid-fall time frame. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.

Hello all, I wish to share this interesting website I found out when watching the following video at minute 22 Here's the website: http://www.aopa.org/Education/Online-Courses I did register and do the VOR Approach Challenge to rwy 34 at Westminster KDMW. I think it was pretty easy, I completed it with a score of 100%, though since I don't have a pilot's licence I couldn't get a certificate

Hello I'm having trouble setting up NE Spain v 1.71 with my current P3D v3.2 setup. I got ORBX Global + Vector + LC Europe .+ LC Canada. (REX ESS, + REX 4 TD & Soft Clouds + ASN) Just recently installed NE Spain and found 2 manuals, one in my install folder. Manual.PDF seems older (for FSX) and states that besides NE-Spain Base I can Choose from Level 0 to Level 3 (or a combination to accommodate ORBX sceneries) but I only have one folder an no option to choose from. Somewhere I read that you have moved to a one folder setup, The other manual from the Night Environment Lightning System - Configuration Manager App. v1.2 According to the download …

Hi Everyone: The following is an intro that hopefully will lead to the topic title. I apologize if this is not the proper forum for this topic. I'm new here (again), recently returned to flight simulation (FS) after several years of dealing with health issues. At my age (closer to 90 than 80) medical issues and appointments take up the largest portion of my calendar. As a retired professional pilot with an ATP certificate, flight always catches my fancy and FS is the closest I can get to reliving some of those days gone by. The most difficult thing I am dealing with in getting reestablished in FS is the setup. I am focused on P3D at the moment and running on …

Thanks to your repeated posting about how wonderful it is, I've downloaded my first set of NE scenery (PA). And while the installer crashed my machine all the way to re-boot, I added the scenery manually and took a quick spin. All I can say is WOW and THANK YOU (to Chris, too). It did, however, eat more than a gig of my available VAS. That's probably something I can fix in config and tuning (or at least, I hope). Because I definitely want this on at night, all the time, everywhere. So thanks.
