I have posted this in the form of a reply to a question down on the unofficial Carenado support page, but since I have seen this question many times before, I thought it might be ok to also put it here. The question is "Where can I find manuals for the Carenado Beech B-1900D"? I have the latest download for FSX/P3D. The file I downloaded is called CAR-550.zip and I tthink it is the latest one. I am running P3Dv4.1 and the plane loads and runs well in this program. There is a file created in the main root file of P3D called Carenado. Open it and you will se the file called B1900D. Open it and you will see 10, in my case, Adobe Acrobat files: Recommended…

When I select a runway for arrival using the cdu, a list of STARS appear on the cdu. I have to look at all of them on plates to see which is the proper STAR based on the runway and direction I'm coming from. Is there an easier way to select a STAR? Often, I select a star and have to delete and edit thru the cdu because I selected an inappropriate star. Gnacino

Hello all, as the title suggests, how is landing rate v/s calculated? Especially important it seems for virtual airlines, is it calculated from the time you begin your descent to touchdown or is there another formula?

Ah, our favorite time of year is almost here! The sales are coming! What addons are you thinking about picking up? Orbx products with their 48% off, FlyTampa with their incredible sceneries, maybe Flightbeam or FSDT? So many great addons, so little money

I flew from KEWR to KLAS last week on United. We were on a 737-800/900. It was a 5 hour painful flight in Premium economy. There was no inflight entertainment system. It was an empty hole with magazine, menu, barf bag and safety info. On top of that physical comfort was out the window. The seats have no cushion, and have somewhat of a hole (kind a bucket like support) with a bar of sorts sticking you in the rear. The back curvature was awful too. I flew on a 737 recently as well and had similar awful seat. Is this what is becoming of flying? A couple years ago it was a 757 with IFE and reasonable seats. Living in northern NJ we only have one descent option for…

Consider this a love letter to the AVSIM community. Dear AVSIM, Thank you for existing. Thank you for being well-moderated and encouraging professionalism and decorum among your users. Thank you for being kind to newcomers. Thank you for being a wealth of knowledge, both in libraries and knowledgeable people. Thank you for NOT being the Facebook groups. Even some of the bigger and better ones can turn into barren wastelands. Basically if you're not a teenager who owns the FSLabs A320 and thinks VATSIM is the greatest thing in the world you're not welcome on such pages Also the phrase "just Google it" is quickly becoming one of the most immature, go-to snob…

  14. As you may know, the 777X features wingtip folding to allow it to fit into standard 777 gates, as the new generation of Triple7's has increased wingspan. Boeing recently revealed cockpit renders and i find the location of the folding controls quite special, so close to the Seatbelt switch, and without any flip cover. I'm sure there are a myriad of checks to prevent accidental midflight folding but i'm still amazed they deem this to be the best location for the switch. "Ladies and Gentlemen, as we prepare for decent, the captain has now folded the wings. Please fasten your seatbelts and enter the brace position. We will arrive at our destination soon, VERY SOO…

My eighteen-year-old daughter recently told me she discovered my Flightsim videos on Youtube. Seemed like she was encouraging me to share my videos with a wider audience than those of us who frequent our forums here. So today I linked one of my Xplane videos on my Facebook page. I've always gotten good responses to my nature and city photography there so I decided to curb my shyness about the sims outside our circles and gauge how many are interested. So far several pp have seen my setup, which works especially well with my Logitech 3D Pro controller. Xplane11 specifically needs a well weighted, firm controller or yoke since it does not use null zones like FSX/P3D do…

Although RealAir has been out of business for nearly a year now, their re-install process still locks one out if the reinstall key code limit has been exceeded. Hence, it is not possible for me to reinstall one of their products. I have sent several requests to RealAir Support, asking that my key code be reset. None has been returned undelivered, yet I get no response from Rob. Does anyone know how to solve the problem of key code resets, or will I forever be unable to reinstall their excellent P3D Turbine Duke? It seems to me that if support is no longer available then the re-install limits should be removed from their products so that the ones of us who paid for th…

Hi guys, 'My Traffic 2013' seems to be out of action, for some reason. The more I try to fix it the worst it gets. I was thinking about getting something else as my Ai traffic. I don't really know what's good out there. Any advise on what to get would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. J Goncalves.

I am preparing for a flight from EGKK London Gatwick to EGPF Glasgow in the PMDG 737-600 NGX. I have been looking at the SIDs for a runway 26L departure, and it seems that the best departure north is to use the TIGER 1X SID. However, this involves turning south and east after take off, and then turning north to the Lambourne VOR. Is this the best option? I had assumed that there would be a departure that involved turning directly north after take off, but maybe this would conflict with Heathrow airspace? Is that correct?
