Eaglesoft has emerged from relative hibernation with what appears to be an updated (FSX, SE P3Dv3) version of their Cirrus SR22. I had quite a few of their aircraft back in FS9 and their quality was certainly above the average of what was available in those days. It looks good on the screenshots, seems to have good specs and comes with the option of F1 GTN integration. Surprisingly, Eaglesoft don’t seem to be developing their aircraft for P3Dv4 but perhaps a version for this platform will appear in due course, particularly as the competing Carenado version has installers for both. Although I still run FSX, with a view to future-proofing I now only tend to buy addons that …

I thinking about updating my cell phone to an Android type thing and logging into SkyVector for seeing a sectional route of where I'll be flying and seeing the weather ahead in real time as I'm planning and flying and was wondering if others do anything along those lines. I'm using Carenado's Diamond Star DA40 which has a couple of Garmin 430's but no terrain mapping...the version I have is the analog cockpit and not the NG or whatever with the two big Garmins. I think I'd be able to log into one of those websights like Sky Vector and make a plan and put it in the Garmin then follow it with the Garmin 430 in the DA40. Use the Android for the sectional terrain map and the…

Has anyone had problems with Warbirdsim? I bought the Mustang Tales package from their site Saturday, and to date have not received ANY acknowledgement from them at all. No download link, no receipt, nothing. All I have is a receipt from PayPal. I have sent e-mails to their support 3 times, with no response. Are they out of business and didn't shut down the site? Anyone else buy from them recently? I am out $40 US.

  8. Wow, I never knew about this at all. Sounds like the company really stepped in it, and that had to sting. That being said, the guy who named his baggage after himself is my hero.

The guy who invented the USB Bus died. At the graveside ceremonies they delivered the standard speeches and eulogy and then started lowering the coffin into the grave. When it hit the bottom they raised it back up again, turned it around, and lowered it back down again. Noel

Vic closed the real world pilot thread after seven days so I did not get a chance to add to it. I was traveling and never got around to making the post before it was closed. Hopefully this will stay up. I made my solo flight May 5, 1990 at PAJN, where I lived for almost 33 years. My brother was an AP there for quite some time. Our first AC was a Stinson 108 Voyager. It was in pretty rough shape and not airworthy at the time of purchase. The owner was leaving town and wanted $6500 for it. We ended up giving him $1500 literally two hours before he got on the ferry to leave town and not knowing what to do with it at the airport. We spent almost a year getting it airwort…

When I was taking my very first flying lesson the FBO at Commodore Center in Sausalito California had a Piaggio 136. It was a twin engine amphibian and they used it to fly charters to Lake Tahoe and Clear Lake. It's a beautiful airplane. But to my knowledge it has never been modeled for any flight simulator. The land version, the Piaggio 166, is available for FSX. But I would dearly like to find the 136. I had an opportunity to fly in once when they took it out of the hangar for a test flight after some maintenance. Noel

I was just reading my news bullitin on my tablet and there was an article on FSL and Malware. Seems a few months ago FSL put some Malware makarky in their Airbus, aimed at pirates! Whilst I understand the positive aim was to defeat piracy, I was rather alarmed at the addition of Malware in a top simulation product. It was triggered if anyone tried to install a pirate copy, the Malware apparently sent passwords back to some place? Anyway, I assume it's all sorted out. If anyone missed this (like myself) here is another little article. https://www.fidusinfosec.com/fslabs-flight-simulation-labs-dropping-malware-to-combat-piracy/ Funny little world th…

  21. Started by Richard McDonald Woods,

The FS Aviation Academy will provide a wide base of aviation learning to the flight simulation community. Starting with the provision of a flying ground school for private pilots, there are already plans to extend this to other aspects of aviation training. Initially, we are looking for a system administrator who will take responsibility for software setup, site design and functions, student administration, file backup and recovery, and integration into a multi-national development community. No programming expertise will be required. An interest in flight simulation and in developing a deeper interest in aviation knowledge in others is key, although prior…

Seeing that you closed the topic I raised elsewhere, maybe correcting a few facts time. As advertised, the last Aerosoft Sale was 20% only. Yes, I am fully aware that irrespective of sale or no sale that VAT/GST gets charged whatever the rates are, but surely a 20% sale followed by a 20% claw-back due to VAT/GST, is far less a so-called bargain compared to a sale at say, 30%.

TrueEarth Netherlands downloaded, unpacked, and installed. Yesterday afternoon at exactly 1:00Pm I started downloading installing the program from FTXGlobal and then proceeded to prepare a roast beef for dinner. Late this afternoon at 2:47PM it was done and ready to check out. I decided on a 20 minute flight from Schiphol to Antwerp in my Quest Kodiak. It seems by default everything in the configuration is checked. My FrameRate is locked at 30FPS. I took off from Schiphol and noticed some skipping but nothing that took away from the enjoyment of the flight. The frame rate would drop to the 15-18 range but go right back up 30. The further away I got fro…
