Hello everyone! I recently was going to purchase the PMDG 777 since I had it in fsx but then I came across the CS 757 and wondered should I get that instead? I can afford either, but am wondering whether to go back to the 777 or over to the 757. I currently have the PMDG 747 QW 787 PMDG 737 and AS Airbus PRO bundle. Another thing to think about is preformanxe it is a key detail as well thanks in advance!! Simon S.

TK800 from Panama to Istanbul took a rather unusual route over greenland recently, adding 800 miles to its total distance, in order to ride a strong jetstream. And it still arrived 10 minutes ahead of schedule. Max GS was 610 kts....what a ride! https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/a24118359/turkish-airlines-flight-800-jet-stream/ Flightradar replay: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/tk800/#1e4aee11 Standard route: Jetstream detour:

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else is fed up with CAPTAIN SIM . I am because of their new 757. The way they sell it to you where you have to buy the pw 757 base pack for 75 dollars!!!!! THAT IS EXPENSIVE FOR JUST A BASE PACK WITH PW ENGINES THAT NOBODY REALLY CARES FOR. I know many people wanted the base pack to have the rr engines. THE RR UPGRADE ALONE IS 29 DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!! I know many people are going to have a hard time affording that. That is absolutely ridiculous! And the fact that there is still the 757f and -300 means that for all the variants it will cost you a pretty penny!!! They say they are going to mak…

Yesterday I've tried reinstalling Wilco Airbus Vol.2 into FSX, but I've got an error message saying "The maximum allowed installations is reached". I filled the form at the Wilco homepage, as indicated by the installer. That was over 24 hours ago, and I haven't yet received any feedback from Wilco. Last time (back in August/2016) it only took 70 minutes. In comparison, Leonardo SH took 17 hours and Flight 1 is almost immediate. Has anyone had any recent experience reactivating any Wilco product?

I posted this in the Prepar3D forum but I don't seem to be getting any responses there, so will post it here because I believe more people read this forum: Does anyone know if it is possible to copy FSR recording files from a sim on one computer (I.E. Prepar3D v4) to the same version of the sim (I.E. Also Prepar3D v4) on another computer and have it be able to playback on the second computer? I don't have multiple computers with P3D v4 on it so I can't test it myself. Thanks

Hey guys, Have anyone here built something like this? I'm trying to figure what is the cheapest and still usable hardware you would need for this purpose. Anyways, I would love to read your experiences, thanks in advance!

My va is USA based and am UK A 1340 fight would be totally dark for me as the night of night time My question is what the hell is causing that is it because being in the UK and the game is taking the 7 to 11 hours in time difference. is there a workaround this (Id really like to see the scenery) and it's annoying.

I have flown on many airlines that no longer exist, more of them than current airlines. TWA, USAirways, Continental, Northwest Airlines, PSA, Aircal, ATA, British Caledonian, TransInternational, Avensa, Mexicana, Taesa, and some more. What about other simmers? In 2014 I worked on a contract for American Airlines doing IT testing for their merger with US Airways, specifically their crew scheduling software, which is my contribution to the aviation industry, something I long sought working in customer service from college onward. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/former-airlines/index.html John

I have purchased Imaginsim KATL for FSX and also for P3DV4.3. If I look at the charts for runways 28/10 they are listed as 275 for RW28 and 95 for RW10. When I check the info for those runways in either sim using Imaginsim it lists them as 273 and 93. Which is correct? Thanks in advance.

Hello Gang, First my apologies if this is old news. Is there a way for members of the same geographic area to, using AVSIM, to organize local meetings to actually talk face to face, socialize and talk shop? My interest is not just social, but mainly to exchange information, trainings and hands-on, how-to sessions that are hard to do online. And while I do a fair amount of work online in my profession, I'm also concerned that over reliance on online conversations/training will lead to the deterioration of interpersonal and communications skills (already see that in many of the brilliant but entirely electronic comm. folks). I know car clubs do this all the time…

Anybody know what happened to Art Poole? He gifted us with a stream of really nice add-on airports, but seemed to stop at the end of 2014. Anyone know if he's ok?

He practiced for months, so should have known about how far out on the wing was ok to go. "However, as Jon got further out onto the wing of the plane, it caused the small Cessna to go into a downward spiral..." https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-rapper-dies-after-falling-off-airplane-wing-in-failed-stunt

I wrote to TWA in 1970 while in high school, asking about the requirements to become a pilot for them. This is what I received. I thought some might find it historically interesting.

The aircraft in this sim is so small I can barely see it. Anyone come up with a idea on how to improve the graphics?

Hi All, I find that flying on Vatsim is great, except for the lonely airports. Unless there is an event, or weekend traffic, it is tough to find an airport or terminal that has consistent aircraft at the gates. This, for me, is one of the biggest immersion killers. So, are there solutions for static aircraft to be properly placed at airports to give it a busier feel? I want them to remain at the gates, as to not interfere with online traffic. let me know your feedback

Sim or real life, there are approaches that are breathtaking. A few for me, all real life: SFO 28L or 28R..... You are over the water on approach until the last possible second, then the threshold slides underneath you.... London Heathrow, landing to the west...... In 1984 I came in from over central London, seeing all the sights along the Thames as we flew in from the west, then turned around over approx London City airport to land back to the west. It was exciting and my first taste of the United Kingdom ever. Caracas Venezuela..... Coming in from the Atlantic, you see a wall of mountains ahead and realize you have just traveled to another continent.…

How do you realistically fly in/out of major airports without driving an airliner? I guess charter jets do but not that often. The only way would be small cargo planes, yes? I'm trying to come up with realistic ways to fly in/out of major airports (I've bought a ton of them over the years for FS/P3d) without flying airliners. Ideas?

We all fly so much here, at least I do, one to two hours a day, ten hours or more a week. I always try to fly self contained flights from destination to destination--if I do not land somewhere, I feel my sim session is incomplete. I am curious of members, what are your most memorable sim flights? And in what sim(s)? Mine is a very recent one, a dawn flight I flew and saved in Xplane11 in the Aerobask Eclipse from SFO Intl to Reno Intl. It is memorable for me because of the lighting, which I feel Xplane does so well. And the route, which I fly often in P3DV4 too, because it goes from the sea (SF Bay), over farmland, into subalpine then alpine country, and finally int…

I have now tried twice to buy ARMI PROJECT - TEHRAN IMAM KHOMEINI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OIIE P3D for P3Dv4 via Simmarket but the payment has been withheld by PayPal twice. It seems that PayPal are blocking payment simply because of the purchase title. On both occasions it was being bought with other sceneries and after cancelling the Simmarket Orders and creating new orders for the other sceneries PayPal paid immediately. I'm posting this here to warn any other simmers thinking of buying the scenery via PayPal, because they will take your money, put your order in pending then cancel it several days later without any explanation and return your money some days later. So …

Just curious what others like. I have had two aviation movies as my favorites, one is the Battle of Britain, which I first saw upon first release in the theaters way back when I lived in Napa, at the lovingly restored Uptown Theater which was turned into a major concert and comedy venue for northern California. I saw it as very realistic, done way before CGI, and also it was the first movie I had seen which portrayed the horror of war from both sides, where the soldiers and airmen are always pawns and unlikely heroes for the countries they serve, although in the case of Britain, so many were volunteers and not regarded as pawns, just defenders of their homeland from agr…

For some time, I have had a problem with using my mouse wheel function to rotate, for instance, the Altitude Knob in the PMDG B777. If I hover over the knob, I get the little hand symbols but the knob doesn't rotate. At a zoom of 3.0, I have to place the mouse pointer just below the Cancel/Recall button on the Display Select Panel in order to use the mouse wheel. At higher zooms, the offset location varies somewhat and, at lower zooms, it disappears. It's not a PMDG problem because it happens with other aircraft as well. With PMDG aircraft, I use the alternative method of holding down the left or right button but some aircraft don't have that option. Does anyone…

This is meant for those of us that have been simming from the start, back in the 80's. When did you realize that sims would be what they are like today? Did you think FS2 would be the extent of sim detail? Or Flight Assignment ATP, or Jet? I saw the future while I had FS2, when I saw Evan's and Sutherland's efforts in 3D graphics and sims on mainframes, knowing that the Commodore 64 I had was as powerful as mainframes of the 60's. I just knew, that sooner or later, we would have what we have today, especially photoreal scenery and 3D airports, trees, etc.... Oh how I remember how stunning 4fps was in FS2, then 12 fps in Flight Assignment ATP which was my favorite DO…

A quick shout out to my keyboard that finally died today after what my logs would suggest is a little over 5000 flying hours together - and probably a lot more. It's been my FSX companion for nearly ten years. Looking after switching views, Inputting FMC Data, Resetting Barometric, deploying Reversers in tight situations, etc, etc, etc.I've even used it to fly a few times when the Saitek yoke and rudders have been playing up and all else has failed. It's done its part perfectly but, today it just plain rolled over in the water and died.Thank you my faithful old keyboard. We flew everything from ultralights to the mighty PMDG T7. It was great to fly with you. We saw some sig…
