Do you get withdrawal symptoms? I do, especially since I have three air sims (Xplane11, P3DV4, Wings of Prey). I get myself stuck deciding which to fly, which can be tough, because I love all three for what each does well. Sleep is the worst time because I crave waking up. Only problem I have is computing in general tires my eyes, which is what caused me to get reading glasses, when I was working for my old company Cyntergy and taking training classed for my Unix and Holiday Inn property management system certifications back in '93. I went into the class seeing well then had to buy emergency reading classes to take the final cert exams, which were both written and ve…

Little bit of tongue in cheek with the title but I remember a year or two ago when Google told everyone to get the "Green" padlock to show others your site is secure. It is mandatory or it will be mandatory and, if you don't have this lock, people who go to your site will be warned your site is insecure. As I recall we had to pay the big bucks to get the green lock. Now I read half of the sites on the Internet with the green lock are unsafe - https://www.techspot.com/news/77585-half-all-phishing-sites-display-padlock-making-people.html (be careful, it might not be a safe article and site). Just thought I would pass this bit of information on. Just because there is a …

  5. Your rig should be near a door or open window. I found an electric leaf blower does a good job. Your targets are all of the case entrances which will most likely be fans. A few blasts and any dust will be quickly blown out. At some point you may want to do a tear-down and actually clean your fans but when I get there I'm ready for another build. Cheers bs

I ordered some curtains (shades, blinds w.h.y.) from a website. Delivery was supposed to be 5 days. 7 days later I got an email: Dear R.W.Attwood , We have been unusually busy this last week coming up to the Christmas Period. Night before last as I was headed to bed, I stumbled as I was passing through the dining/music/miscellaneous storage room and rapped my left foot's little toe hard against my organ's solid wood bench. My foot went one way but my little toe decided to do a split. I didn't notice immediately that it literally split, and the tear in between my little toe and its neighbor was bleeding like a stuck pig. Bright red was pooling up around my foot as my little toe stood out at a 90º angle. I limped over to grab a hand full of paper towels and managed to make it to the bathroom, where I was able to prop my left foot on the toilet seat allowing the blood to drip into the bowl i…

  9. As per the title, the AH C-119 Flying Boxcar is on sale now (got mine from Just Flight but it's at other places too, nice price as well. £19.99 at JF). Looks and flies great and has a lot of cool detail and detailed systems, including working droppable paratroops. Also has one of my pet peeves of FSX/P3D addressed too, i.e. the nav lights are actually bright for a change!. Some pics. :

The only caveat I have is Dovetails apparently new policy of offering these things for sale essentially sight unseen, with no videos of the thing in action, only a few glossy stills. Feels a bit shady, to me. They did this with the Ruhr Sieg Nord release as well, which was just short of a stealth launch, I felt. https://store.steampowered.com/app/577354/Train_Sim_World_Long_Island_Rail_Road_New_York__Hicksville_Route_AddOn/ https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/long-islands-electric-workhorse

What’s up with Flight1? Not a discount in sight. I want the Level-D but I’m not paying $54.99 for a 15 year old add-on. I won’t pay full price for everything unless it’s PMDG to be honest. Just venting. Lol

Hello all, Been trying to get some info on this but all I found feel short of expectation. Trying my luck here now 😉 After a long time of vowing not to buy a long haul aircraft for P3Dv4, I finally got the PMDG 747-400 v3. While I like doing long haul, I just don't have the patience for it, and when it all comes down to it, I always end up doing short 1-1.5 hour hops. hence I'd been investing in aircraft that are typically used for those purposes, not 747 or whatever long haul aircraft. Importantly, I enjoy flying real world routes with the actual equipment, so flying a 747 from EDDF to EDDM just for the hell of it doesn't attract me. But then the other day I di…

  17. The Canadian Boeing 737 was taking off from Belfast International Airport when a mistake by cabin crew meant its top speed was not hit - and take-off was prevented. Failing to fly at the required height the plane smashed into the light, but thanks to a lack of runway obstacles, was able to avoid hitting anything else. The incident occurred when a crew member entered the outside temperature as-52C instead of the actual temperature of 16C. The error on the Flight Management Computer meant the assumed temperate thrust only delivered 60% of the thrust required for take-off, in July last year.

I have an Atari ST emulator, Hatari and FS2 for the ST (which really was FS3). I have enjoyed flying it and remembering what I used to accept as state of the art back then. Hatari lets you up the cpu speed of the 68000 processor all the way up to 32 MHZ, which makes FS2 much more fluid than it was on my original ST, the 1040. The 68000 was an amazing processor which allowed for programs with a very small footprint, due to the way it addressed memory vs. Intel chips. I used to play around in Assembler for the 68000, I wrote code that slowed FS2 somewhat since I found a bug in it--aircraft flew faster than the indicated airspeed which I could measure simply by using my …

Hello I am new here and not sure where to write this and this Seems like just a good a place as any. If wrong please feel free to correct me. I have the PMDG 737 6789. Because I am somewhat new to Windows 10 and P3D of any version I have installed and uninstalled and reformatted my computer to try to get things tweaked which leads to it getting somewhat messed up. Thats why there is several installs and uninstalls. Now I am getting a message that I am out of activations. What do I do? Thanks Jason

I'm half a year into my transition to X-plane 11 after FSW tanked, and while I'm learning to enjoy XP (especially now that ORBX has begun upgrading the scenery), I find myself still occasionally reflecting on the promise FSW showed. For all its shortcomings, the sim did sport a pretty smooth UI, a small hanger of pretty high quality default ac, and an entire planet skinned by ORBX. It seems unlikely that all that coding simply disappeared, and more likely some kind of money changed hands, and that somewhere someone is figuring out how to capitalize on FSW's potential. So I was wondering whether there's any scuttlebutt in the community about what might have ha…

Hi fellow flight simmers: I am a Pennsylvania Yankee currently using X-Plane 11 and purchased the ORBX Great Britain South scenery. I have been trying to locate printed flight charts (either VHR or IFR or both) for England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. I have not been able to locate a source for these charts here in the USA. Does anyone know where I can buy these online? I have already tried Amazon and Sporty's without success. Advice and/or links are most welcome. They don't have to be current since I just want them for computer flying. Thanks Denny Knepper Newville, PA USA
