I asked the freeware Canva.com to make me an AI image from Beowulf. But in the style as if Beowulf was instead written by Shakespeare instead of in old Norse. And the dragon and his famous mother were the tragic heroes of the play. Instead of the noble Swedes and Danes. It's seems amazing what free AI can do these days. It only took about 4 minutes. I could never draw like that or make the Dragon mother look so theatrical.

Sherlock Holmes fictional master criminal was based on this real life "Napoleon of Crime", Adam Worth. He was more charismatic than the sour reptilian character Sir Arthur created. But even more daring and ambitious. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0374218994#averageCustomerReviewsAnchor ------- Francis Tumblety was arrested twice in his life. Once on suspicion of helping James Wilkes Booth murder Abraham Lincoln, and then later on suspicion of being Jack the Ripper. Like Worth, he was a real charmer and confidence man. https://www.amazon.com/Prince-Quacks-Notorious-Tumblety-Charlatan/dp/0786444339 ------ As my poor Victorian joke about Newgate P…

  4. If you couldn't have a dog or a cat, what kind of a pet would you chose. I really like Snow Leopards, but might be hard to handle. So I'm thinking perhaps a Honey Badger. Amazing creatures, can be mauled by all manner of big cats and walk away unharmed, bitten by snakes etc. And they have the temerity, after a bunch of leopards have attempted a mauling, to chase after them for another round. 😁 What would you chose, Avsim animal lovers. Exotic pets accepted. Don't worry, people, Mr. HB in the video below is fine. Hard as rock. 👍

  7. Hello all, hopefully this is appropriate place to post this. I am new, please LMK if this needs moving elsewhere... I’m trying get the Garmin Trainer Perspective+ package on Windows 11 (MSI MAG series motherboard, current NVIDIA GPU) to work. The install and launcher run correctly, and both PFD and MFD windows initialize, but it appears the current Garmin Trainer build no longer installs the “Core” module / supporting DLLs that older versions included. Without those, the Perspective+ modules (CDUSimV2, TrainerHost, etc.) do not complete startup. Garmin support was unable to provide legacy installer versions or documentation. I’m looking for confirmati…

Now finally I get to see how its made, and realize that I could have happily lived the entire rest of my life without knowing. Wife: Have you got anything without spam? Waitress: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it. Wife: I don't want ANY spam! Man: Why can't she have egg bacon spam and sausage? Wife: THAT'S got spam in it! Coming January. 3 part series. Lawhead's book trilogy (Taliesin, Merlin, Arthur) were based on the Welsh ballads which gave rise to the King Arthur tales, combined with Plato's description of Atlantis being "beyond the Gates of Hercules (Gibraltar)". Lawhead chose Crete as his Atlantis. Wikipedia: " The Bull-Leaping Fresco is the most completely restored of several stucco panels originally sited on the upper-story portion of the east wall of the Minoan palace at Knossos in Crete. It shows the bull leaping scene. " The filming described in video below is all early Lawhead, i.e. the first book (Taliesin). Wikipedia: Taliesin was a renowned Brit…

  17. Many of you will have noticed I run a private weather station with info in my signature. It’s viewed by many people around the world but one of the most memorable was when a 747 pilot checked my weather shortly before pushing back from JFK back on this date in 2018 for his flight to Manchester. I live 3 miles from EGCC. We’d met at the Cosford Flight Sim Show a few weeks earlier. Nice touch from @jon b 👏
