Hangar Chat

This forum is for the discussion of things you might discuss when going into an airport hangar.  Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting here.  Please refrain from controversial topics...politics, religion, conspiracy theories, climate change, COVID etc.  Topics that elicit or are deemed by staff likely to elicit heated argument, contention, or otherwise objectionable banter will be removed from view.  We allow some latitude, but please remember that, first and foremost, this is a flight-simulator oriented site frequented by people from all walks of life.

That was it.... "We don't need no education. We don't need no thought control. No dark sarcasm in the classroom. Teacher, leave those kids alone. Hey, Teacher, leave those kids alone!" Or in this case. LEAVE THOSE CLOCKS ALONE! Messes my sleep up every year!

Probably no one cares outside the islands, but our last local airline Hawaiian was bought out by Alaska months ago. This week, the last HAL flight was conducted as Hawaiian was placed under Alaska's operating certificate. All flights now are under Alaska's callsign as ASA/AS. Alaska grabbed the 787s Hawaiian had to expand their service at Seattle. No word on what might replace Hawaiian's 717 fleet used for the inter-island routes as those are long in the tooth.

  9. At a time when it sometimes feel humans cant do anything good, this was a nice little story. As kids, my friends and I often played near the city waters on the Hudson, but no matter how young we were, it was clearly understood that the water was as dangerous as pure poison, and none of us would ever dream of letting even a drop of it get into our mouths. The thought of it ever getting cleaned up, even a little, was pure science fiction. Adults/grownups were simply too nasty/destructive to mother nature. Nice to see even a small ray of sunshine.

How big are your quads boys and girls. Research seems to say that 60cm is desired, any less and greater risk for health. Thigh circumference and risk of heart disease and premature death: prospective cohort study - PMC https://share.google/vCzD7Q2NOMKym5s4g "Results A small thigh circumference was associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular and coronary heart diseases and total mortality in both men and women. A threshold effect for thigh circumference was evident, with greatly increased risk of premature death below around 60 cm. Above the threshold there seemed to be no additional benefit of having larger thighs in either sex.…

Hello.....yesterday I tried to open my Community Folder and was greeted by a message which stated that I had some corrupted files in that Folder so I was unable to open the Folder. I did add 2 addons to this folder the previous day. I then ran a program for a Disk Check to eliminate the affected files. After completing this I found that my Community Folder was no longer there. I am now puzzeled as to where this folder could have gone and how can I get it back. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.....Herman

This Cat 5 hurricane is currently just off the south coast of Jamaica and will cross the island in the next 6 hours. Central pressure is 977hPa which isn’t particularly low compared to North Atlantic depressions but the winds and rainfall will of course be catastrophic. Around 3ft (36”) of rain is expected to fall which is around the annual rainfall for England. I can’t begin to imagine what it must be like there. Good luck and stay safe.

Hello, I share this not looking for sympathy, but as a warning in hopes it will prevent others from having to deal with a situation like I’m dealing with right now. I’m a very occasional seller on eBay, mostly computer parts that I don’t need anymore because I’ve upgraded to something new. I’ve never had an issue until my most recent transaction. The buyer alleged that the GPU he bought from me was defective. The screen shots he sent clearly did not indicate a hardware issue, it was a software issue. He wanted a return through the eBay money back guarantee as I always mark my sales no returns to avoid such nonsense. I responded that there was no evidence…
