The VA Registry link here at AVSim.com has been "Coming Soon" for quite a few years now. My I suggest changing your VA Registry link to go to http://www.vaconnection.tk ? It's the largest and most popular VA registry online and I'm sure a lot of VA users here would love to see your VA Registry link finally working.

Hello staff, all,I was a bit at odds about the wording of the front-page news about the new Intel processors. Given that it was just an Intel release statement I found the "break out your wallets" rather pre-emptive.Enthousiasm is great, but given that this is an expensive hobby already I'd hate to see people spend their money unwisely. First performance reviews I read about these processors were disappointing, sometimes even slower than the older-core processors at the same clockspeed; it may turn out that the true value of this Prescott core is in enabling higher speeds not yet available.I myself could do very much with a comparison review in flightsim performance betw…

Having just signed up to AVSIM, was disappointed that some computer users still don't have adequate virus protection in what is fundamentally a computer based flight forum!!!Just downloaded a Seabee aircraft and a Cessna 172M from an "aussie" site ( I am an aussie and Jan 26th is Australia day)and 1. had my home page hijacked and 2. a virus. I do a live update weekly and was able to block the virus however not the home page hijack!!!It may be timely to place a reminder in all forums, e-mails etc etc that especially with a simulation site we are all responsible for what is on our systems and should take all necessary precautions. A bit like doing a safety check on your air…

Dears,I tried several times to get in touch with anybody of your board as regards my documentary film project about the flight sim history and the simpit builders. I always get back an, excuse me, but I cant say it otherwise:" Your mail has not been read, has been deleted, thank you"It's just not civil and not honorable. An opinion in that forum would help me to understand what the goals and the means of AVSIM rulers.RegardsRoger WielgusFilm Director-producer / Simpit builder /

AVSim,As some may know, there appears to be several problems with scenery rendering in FS2004.There seems to be a problem with the actual autogen system in FS2004, something which, at this point, can only be fixed by Microsoft. This results in low framerate on longer flights or when panning or making 180 degree turns:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...4&mesg_id=16054http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...4&mesg_id=14944http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...0&mesg_id=14900http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&mesg_id=150254There appears to be a second (unrelated) issue, wihch causes unexpected crashes of the simulator in certa…

Don't want to start anything, but curiousity has killed the cat. Are people that upload payware/shareware files to AVSIMs library getting a free ride or do they pay some type of fee????Don't care one way or another, as said above the cat's dead...Though if it is a free ride, maybe a couple buck upload fee per file might, put a smile on the faces of the guys paying for all the great services here. Don't really make any sence for someone to make money off AVSIMs back.(I also realize that these developers are not going to become the next Bill Gates off these uploads either). :-outta http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/User_files/3e72a43942b48d2b.jpg There is a …

Hello, I would be astonished if I were the only one that noticed how much simming costs. While there are a lot of outstanding quality "freebies" available, the lion's share of premium enhancements to the realism of our silicon skies takes cold, hard cash and lots of it. It might be a curious aside to see poll results of how much mercature virtual pilots have involved themselves in total on original software, hardware, upgrades, enhancements, etc. (I am not requesting one be taken). It would also be telling if the poll was broken down by years involved, but I digress. The reason for my post is a request of the Avsim reviewers (mainly the real pilots), real pilots of the si…

On today's home page, there's an item about Reality-xp introducing a new weather radar utility, with further details on their website. Well, looks like someone was in a rush (xmas shopping?)- there's no mention of the weather radar on xp's site.So what's the scoop on this one?Eytan OrnsteinLLHAon a very stormy night.

Dear Avsim. As everyone in the flightsim world knows PMDG has released their SU2 update over the weekend and there are many who are having difficultys logging on to the server, have not recieved their e-mails with the links to the download site,or have lost their original e-mails. This has caused frustration for many. This morning it seems as though PMDG has started to delete messages that dont show them in a good light. There was a post titled....Raising the White Flag that was removed in which a user basiclly was giving up on trying to download the update until things slow down. Mr Ken Salter your forum manger decided to pipe in and state in essence....that is amazing tha…

Having downloaded and installed this aircraft, it is still suffering from the same problems as before (FS 2002) - problems related to the engine start. I tried to find a way to communicate that to the AFG guys, but there is no way to e-mail or passing feedback in any other way to them, did I miss something ? It would be very useful to ensure those putting stuff on your site include also some contact details in case of questions, most of do, but not in this case.

It has seems to me that the other site is getting the jump on the AVSIM crew when it comes to reveiws and other non-announcement editorial. I think this is a bit of a shame - reviews and articles used to be one of AVSIM's real strengths. AVSIM still has the best forums by far - but I would love to see editorial that goes beyond product announcements.

Whenever I try to read the news on the front page, I notice that all the new files are listed, thus having to scroll and scroll and scroll to get to the next news article, especially on today's update of over 80 new files.Since these files can be found and listed under the What's New area of the file library, can this feature be reduced on AVSIM's front page just to reflect the number of new files? This will save time for readers.Brent Hebert

I recommend that the limitations of the attachments is being changed from 5 x 125 KB to 3 x 200 KB.Or you could simply set the maximum total size of the attachments to 600 KB, 625 KB, 500 KB, 512 KB or whatever suits you best. Why should each attachment be less than 125 KB? It is too little. For example, it is impossible to get proper screenshots of the cockpit at a resolution of 1024x768x32 under the present limitations.Nico
