If this is in the wrong forum, I am sorry, I wasn't sure where to put it. When I come to avsim now a pop up (or whatever you call it) comes up asking me if I want to opt out of things. The title of the pop up is "AVSIM - Do Not Process My Personal Information". First, why am I getting this? and second, I cannot change any of the options in the opt out survey. And I get this survey thing EVERY TIME I COME TO AVSIM NOW! Can I only do it once?

I am logged in. Is the "AVSIM Front Page" ever going to have anything else on it besides how the new login works. Miss that. Thanks Jim CYWG

The current OS Forums under Hardware & Operating Systems Discussions contents win7/8/10/11 which have very limited utilization IMO As X-Plane natively runs in MAC and Linux, and MSFS can run under Linux using Proton, the OS for sim flyer is not limited to windows anymore. For example, I'd like to migrate to Linux, however I don't know if P3D could run under it, where I could find such information? A dedicated Linux forum might be really helpful. While I don't use MAC, a MAC forum might also include Apple silicon hardware related issue. And while I use win7 until last year, which is very long after EOS, I don't think it's really needed to keep that forum…

One of the AVSIM Moderators has suggested that we post the logical reasons that the creation of two additional subforums, one for each of MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, within the Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024) would help the user community. While acknowledging that we are in an unusual period - with the recent introduction of MSFS2024 and the understandably disproportionate level of users seeking solutions to the difficulties they are encountering while climbing up a very steep learning curve - nevertheless, I would suggest that the logic for having two subforums remains the same beyond that peak. 1. Microsoft, flight sim developers and users rely on communit…

I am not sure if this is right category for this subject, but I will white it here anyway. IMO we really need separate forums for FS 2020 and FS2024. Now their shared forum here is full of posts about 24 and there are alot of us flying with 2020. Would you please consider to arrange them separately.

I really should have addressed this letter to PC Pilot, having been randomly reading that magazine for many years since the days of Windows 3.1, but have yet to invest any hard cash in flight simulation due to 'trying to hit a moving target':, The only flight simulator I ever had on my first 386 SX computer with Windows 3.1 was a Dos-based sim on a floppy disk. I can't remember the name but I think it was based in Bristol and you could fly under a red suspension bridge if I remember correctly. Then MSFS.came along and I soon discovered that I would need an unaffordably expensive PC to go with it. I also realised that you needed a fair amount of c…

Starting this morning evertime I change a page here at Avsim, Malwarebytes is blocking 5 different instances of Google Analytics stuff. This is even though I am running Adblock Pro. Has something changed here or at Malwarebytes? The 5 popups on every page is starting to get annoying.

Unsure if this is Avsim or an issue with my phone, but the level of advertisements has become so OTT, I can no longer login to the forums. The sign-in is hidden behind the ad and I can't scroll to it to press it. Any advice? Thanks

The flight simulation hobby has been split into two very different communities in a way we haven't seen before. This is not news or a criticism, just a recognition of fact. As we all know, before MSFS 2020, Flight Simulator X dominated. There were those who preferred to continue in FS9, and X-Plane was around then, too, At some point, there were even early adopters of P3D. But most of the traffic here was relevant to FSX. AVSIM remained focused on a single major platform: the latest iteration of the Microsoft Flight Simulator, and I mean not just in name, but (for better or worse) in the code and third-party products. I really don't know if "nearly everybody" has switched…

Hope this is the right forum for this. I know this is a mundane thing but thought I would try anyway 😀 Was wondering if it was possible to have more reacts? On Avsim theres only two available for a comment: From another flight sim forum: Its handy to see the range of reacts to a comment which helps convey the vibe of it like on social media platforms (funny / confused / sad / upvote / excellent comment! / love) Again, I know - not the end of the world if they arent present but I was just wondering. Thank you!

Hi everybody, I'd be interested in knowing if anybody would like to have the option to download RAF Brüggen from the AVSIM download site. RAF Brüggen is close to release but as yet I have no answer of the AVSIM team to do so. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I be so bold as to invite you to consider one thing when we come here to share our common interests? I think it is in poor taste for a child to make fun of another child's favorite toys. It's one thing to discuss one's own toys, but why criticize something that's not to your taste, but that is bringing someone else enjoyment? None of this is really so serious to risk controversy and hurt feelings, is it? If we have not learned that much perspective this year, I don't know what we can learn. Again, if you have a product and use it, talk about it however you wish. I have P3Dv5.1 HF1, and I use it, so I enjoy reading about what's good and what …

Hi, I hope this is the right place to mention this, but since MSFS2020 has been showing up in the daily new file list email, fs2004 new files seem to be dropped from the email. I went and looked and there are still files being uploaded to the section but I'm not seeing them in the daily email. Thanks, Sean Roe

I wonder if we can have some sort of "campaign" to encourage members NOT to quote an entire post, only the relevant part they wish to comment on or draw attention to? We are talking the lengthy posts here of course.. I am seeing more and more of this occurrence recently. I am viewing AVSIM on my PC and not a mobile device so I can rapidly scroll down pas the post, but still, it would be nice not to have to do that on a frequent basis. It would save the mods a bit of time I think not having to edit lengthy requotes... Thanks.

I am not sure what changes were made, but please undo blocking Grammarly. My eyes aren't what they use to be and my fat fingers will sometimes hit the wrong key. Not only does Grammarly help me catch typos but is also provides feedback on tone. The tone checking helps me in writing to make sure that my intended positive comments actually sound positive. Why you would want to block an application that helps people sound more pleasant? Grammarly states it has access, but for some reason all of its features are disabled in your WYSIWYG interface. Thank you,

Dear Team, I refer to the Avsim T's & C's.. » BETA Testers: If you agree to be a BETA Tester for a commercial entity, your status and use of AVSIM changes. You are not permitted to post images of the product you are BETA testing. You are not permitted to reveal or communicate details of the product you are testing. You are not permitted to be a "proxy" for the commercial vendor. Only after it has been publicly announced that BETA testing is over AND an imminent release date for the product has been announced, can you post images, discuss the product and answer questions from other users. BETA Testers who post material for a product that is not to be released…

Hi, I can not find a list of my uploads. The only way I know is to search the library. Like other forums on the web, it would be nice to have in the account all the info about my loads, IDs included. I uploaded a pack with error. I had to write to lib mngr, he asked for info I do not know how to get, I had to write him back asking for help how to answer him, etc... There must be a better way. Thank you, Florin.

I just noticed the last news article was from March 23rd. A week ago. Why is it other flight sim websites have much more and frequent news about software, upcoming releases, new releases, etc... If news isn't important why not just make this a place for forums? Reviews could be inside forum posts. I seriously doubt that anyone relies on this site for news as there really is not much of it.

Hi, I read a view recent reviews, like the one of the Xtreme Prototype GLJ 25, but none of the pictures are showing. If you change the following path in the page source, they will show up: https://www.avsim.com/uploads/pages_media to https://www.avsim.com/files/forum/pages_media
