To The Moderators or Upload People.I uploaded 14 repaints here at AVSIM early Friday morning (2:00 am),and I got e-mails on conferming the uploads and a thank you.The problem is ... I have been checking back every now an again censeuploading (now Sat night) an DO NOT see my repainys up for download yet ? Is there a problem with my uploaded repaint files (zips) orand what happened to them ? I have NOT received anything from AVSIM concerning my uploads if there was a problem or not or if I did something wrong or left anything out. I know that AVSIM get a bunch of up loads, this is obvisious, and I also know that it takes a while to get them up on the site. But I would…

Greetings Avsim Staff,Being that it's so soon after this years conference you may not have the info, but I'm trying to coordinate some of my vacation time around the 2004 conference. So, if you at least know the dates for next year (location isn't that important, I'll get there!) I would appreciate a reply in order to attend in 2004.Thanks in advance! Help. I tried to read:>AVSIM 2003 Conference Report >Posted: Sunday, October 12, 2003 - 23:58>by AVSIM's Chief Managing Editor Miro Majcen.. . . and found it impossible. It is just too wide! I reduced the font size on my browser but it was still too much work. Can it be reformatted? Thank you. R-

Hello AVSIM Editors,First I must say that I really appreciate the service you provide to the flight simulation community. I really enjoy what you have to offer whether that is a file to download or a review of the latest and greatest. I always suggest this website over the others to all of my peers. What I do find a little troublesome is that the homepage doesn't seem to be updated very often. I am not speaking about the latest news, reviews, and file uploads. I am speaking of the content on the side of the page, one such area is the article, contrails. How long has this been there? Isn't it time for something new perhaps? Thanks also for giving us this forum wher…

Full information is presently posted on our World Rally webpages.I submited a news item for this on Friday morning, 26 Sept, eight days ago. I got the autoresponder Email. I purchased FS2004 yesterday and started to explore the sim. I live in Michigan, so I started to look for specific major landmarks. Two of the biggest are missing! I have all the scenery/display settings maxed out so as not miss the detail. The first major omission is the Mackinac Bridge across the Straits of Mackinac which links the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. It's world famous. The fifth longest bridge in the world. The second major omission is the Ambassador Bridge. This international bridge links Windsor,Ontario, Canada across the Detroit River to Detroit, Michigan. Please, how could the sim designers miss such landmarks? It would be about the same if they…

Greetings Editors and Readers,I wanted to share some thoughts I have had regarding the state of affairs in the AVSIM forums, in an effort to see if there is a possible resolution to a sticky problem. Let me say off the bat that I am fully aware that "ownership" of these forums rests with AVSIM, and the management is, as always, entitled to run them as they see fit.As most of you know, the AVSIM systems host a multitude of forums, from general chat, flightsim related things, and vendor specific support groups. Among the groups are a "Microsoft Flight Sim" forum, advertised as a place do discuss ALL MSFS related items, and the "PSS Support" forum, advertised as a place to a…

Avsim has an opportunity to become the spokesperson for the thousands of people who regularly go to their site to get the latest information on Flight Simulation. As such Avsim has the opportunity to focus the community of interested simulator users who may be "concerned" about specific aspects of a flight simulation product. There has arisen a discussion about the flight modeling characteristics of FS2004 versus previous versions. The discussion may, or may not, be valid. That is not the issue I care to explore. The basic broader issue is the concern that FS2004 may be a poorer simulator of flight than its predecessors and future versions may not correct the trend. The v…

I consider myself an avid Flight Simmer not unlike many throughout the world who have enjoyed the progress and development of this hobby. Over the years I have enoyed using Microsoft's Flight Simulator, watching new developments in visual effects, and seeing the variety of add-ons; many of which, from freeware to payware, I have enjoyed and to this day remain in my collection -- PMDG's 737 being the latest and struggling to get it's product firmly in the air. I once thought Microsoft ought to be paying these guys to develop the aircraft while they build the core sim. It has been a good experience from the beginning and I feel has allowed me to go onto earning Private Win…

I just did my first flight in an Cessna 172 for real, My wife got me a certifacate for a free flight with an flight instructor. I've been in airplanes befor but not at the controls. I have about 600 hours in MSFS 98' 2000 2002. I told the instructor about it and he wanted to see what I knew. I've talked to other pilots about the FS series but didn't get much respect it's seems that they think it just was a computer game. I've read the ground school and have taken some lessons on FS series. So back to the story, he put me in the left seat and we taxied out and said OK it's yours and off we went and I was so nervous. We reached rotate speed and I pulled back the yo…

Hello All.I'm trying to find out ANY news on the release date for the DELL XPS system in the UK.I've sent several e-mails to their UK customer support and they haven't replied to any! They advertise on nearly all the on-line Flight Sim sites and I really like the spec of the XPS box, but why is it only available in America?Does anyone know someone from DELL that can give me an idea of how long I'll have to wait. My P1.4 really can't show me everything FS9 can do and its REALLY frustrating :(RegardsMark

The Tips and Tricks forum is beginning to take on the same characteristics as the general FSxxxx forum. Questions and discussions seem out of place unless the offered tip can be shown to need changes. Otherwise there is little to differentiate it from the general discussions and thus value is lost.Dick KLBE

Hi,Just wondering if the flight dynamics engine in FS2004 is inferior to the engine in FS2K2, or if it is in fact superior? I've been reading many threads about people's concerns with the FDE in FS2K4, but I have a feeling that the FDE is simply a little different, and requires some new understanding on how it works. If you know for certain whether FS2K4 is in fact better at simulating flight than FS2K2, please send an appropriate post to the General Discussion Forum, as I am getting tired of conspiracy theories etc.Having flown a few real aircraft myself, I am of the opinion that if it "feels" right, and handling characteristics are correct, then it must be good. If it …

Has this entity disappeared. Can not get to the Website. Can not use your link to WWW.lagoonline.com that was on your News Page. What is up? I do have several different software addons produced by them and have tried to navigate to the Lago website only to get a Que that the website does not exist.Gone under? Does anyone understand how objects are used by FSSE to put the objects into Flight Sim. To bad they didn't follow up on FSSE could have been a money maker for them. If others are as disatisfied with Lago as I am then I can see why they are gone.JayMarlin

...the improvements to GA flying. Yes, there were excellent write ups of the new GA and historical aircraft, and the improved AI and ATC options, but nothing mentioned about the new AI and ATC options for GA flying at uncontrolled airports. I'm personally more of a GA flyer, and was disappointed that little to nothing was mentioned in the AVSIM review (or any other on-line reviews I've seen so far, for that matter) about the many improvements in GA flight that FS2004 is supposed to have implemented. For example, AI traffic is now supposed to be able to fly into and out of uncontrolled airports. Seeing as this is an entirely new feature, I'm surprised apparently nobody on …

...I'm pretty bummed that I have to wait until next MONDAY to get my FS2004, ordered from Avsim - apparently shipping time from whereever Avsim/VMax is to California is a full week. Hrrrrm. I'm reading all of these posts hither and thither about people that already have it, and at a discounted price at that... I paid Full Zoot (A.K.A. Suggested List Price) to support my favorite flight sim site, but I have to say that I'm feeling like I'm getting punished for this.Once again UPS proves that they will get it there absolutely the next week or month, even if you want it tomorrow. My suggestion is that Avsim consider shipping faithful pre-orders like this via USPS Priority Ma…

HiI've been meaning to post this awhile ago but just couldn't remember. I just wanted to comment on the AVSIM store carrier, UPS, last year around the holiday season when I ordered my CH Pedals with 2nd day delivery and I recieved my package the 2nd week! I really have never had any success with UPS, especially when I order here from the AVSIM store, which I have stopped, because of this issue, I just can't rely on UPS anymore and this is why I don't purchase from your store, which I love to do because I know I'll be helping out the community etc.. If I could I'd suggest that you guys switch to FedEX as your carrier, they are pretty much on time 90% of the time, compared …
