Using the GTN750 with the Turbo Bonanza I flew into KPDT in Oregon. The following mix btwn the available METAR reports and the live weather engine occurred (in order) during this flight. These are all reports on winds, as I was attempting to set up for a proper approach/runway choice. Preflight METAR: 130 degrees - 5 KTs I planned for the RNAV approach into RWY 11 Midway point enroute METAR (through GTN750): 330 degrees - 12 KTs/gusting 19 Changed approach to RNAV RWY 29 Checked ATIS at KPDT: 244 degrees - 13 KTs All other METAR checks remain same: 330 degrees - 12 KTs/gusting 19 I maintain RWY 29 approach Next …

My UHD TCL TV is connected to my PC via HDMI. Screen resolution is 3840x2160. I have an i9 9900k, a 2080Ti and 32gbs of memory. Yet when I go to the settings in MSFS my highest option 1920x1080. All other graphics settings are on ultra. Thanks in advance!

Unable to start MSFS - in the middle of sim boot-up I get a "We couldn't sign you in to Xbox Live" notice, then everything stops. I checked the status of the Xbox system online - it states that all services are working.

Flying today in a 172 from New Bedford, Mass., over Martha's Vineyard, to land at Nantucket at 1500 ft. I was startled to have an airliner pass just below me about 500 feet and in front of me about 1500 feet. No warning from ATC. Anyone getting warnings from ATC about other aircraft being too close to yours?

I didn't do anything different, but all of a sudden MSFS crashes when it starts to load. Sometimes it gets as far as allowing me to put in my plane choice, but soon after that the sim crashes to the desktop. This really has never happened to me before with this sim. All updates are current, and something changed...but I really don't know where to start. Could use some advice, thanks. Stan

  9. Anyone see the FlyingIron Spitfire on the Microsoft store is 'v1.0.4' yet what's officially released on FI's website is 'v1.0.2'? The Microsoft store version has a graphic issue around the edges of the forward window in the cockpit and the guns on the wings are missing. The flight model seems to be updated but the visual model is off.

Asobo is recruiting !! I found this on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/asobo-studio_the-sky-is-calling-et-nos-offres-de-job-activity-6808763971458494464-eKCC I don't understand why they are looking for programmers 9 months after the product release, I thought the sim was finished when it was released. Maybe I was too naive 🙂 Eric

  11. I recently purchased the ORBX Landmark Scenery for Cape Town, South Africa https://orbxdirect.com/product/landmarks-capetown-msfs I live and work in Cape Town and thoroughly enjoy the scenery and the details that it adds to the Mother City and how it has enhanced the experience of flying in the area. What I do however find strange is that ORBX have included a yet to be constructed building in the Cape Town CBD. This is the Zero 2 One building on the corner of Strand and Adderley Streets. After completion it will become the highest building in Cape Town but commencement of construction have been delayed a number of times and lately due to the impact of Covid-19. …

Hi guys 🙂 I am pretty happy at the moment with my MSFS. A long time now no CTD ( and i realy fly often and a lot ). I am a very satisfied about my performance what was not so good after the last Update and therefor i did some small settings changes ( Lod to 100 and some with AI stuff ) and now i like it mutch, real smooth also near the ground and at big Airports - makes me a bit scared for the next update this could be killed again..🤔 But so far realy love it..😍 cheers 😉

Chock said I have a lot of time in the A2A Spitfire and Cub flying in FSX and I thought I knew how to takeoff in a taildragger. None of the standard MSFS taildraggers cause me any problems with a smooth and stable takeoff. BUT - the Tomahawk has me stumped and discouraged. 3 units UP elevator trim and 2.5 units Right aileron trim. CG is at 26.93% MAC No flaps Vr is supposed to be 105 to 110 MPH I have no problems maneuvering on the ground. But the takeoff roll is killing me! I accelerate slowly until I see MAP = 30" while feeding in just a touch or R aileron and the plane tracks dead straight Tail wheel seems to come off the g…

  16. Most Aussies will have realised by now the Sunshine Coast International Airport at Maroochydore is ridiculously out of date with the old now closed runway still in game and the new runway completely missing. Shunt Scenery have released their YBSU Sunshine coast addon and are currently throwing in for free their paid premium YCDR Caloundra (this is an upgrade to their freeware YCDR). https://www.shuntscenery.com/product-page/ybsu-sunshine-coast-airport There is a slight FPS hit and occasional micro-stutter but nothing too outrageous given the detail of the airports. The following 15 minute video is probably ONLY of interest to Aussies (and Queenslanders…

I though one of the changes that was made with MSFS was to the ATC, not bouncing you around as much as in previous versions, is that not correct? In another window, I'm making a flight from KDCA to KLGA, with flight following, and I don't think I've stayed on the same frequency for more than a minute at a time.

Well, I've had one of those happy/sad moments this week. I happened to notice that LM had released P3D 5.2 this week, and I've been thinking for a while now about all the aircraft I miss from P3D and how I'd try and get round to setting up a clean system to use for my old hangar, so I went and did so with 5.2. Absolutely clean install - I renamed my old 5.1 system folders so that I had everything if I did decide to bring anything over, and because I wanted to keep all the gauges, sounds, effects etc for the aircraft - but the 5.2 system went in absolutely clean. I then re-installed Orbx global stuff, also completely fresh, and a couple of True Earth areas, and then tried …

  19. All, how to we petition Aeroplane Heaven to release their Spitfire? Apparently the mob got to them for daring to release another Spitfire in direct competition with FlyingIron's version. Showing how mis-informed these people are Aeroplane Heaven's Spit is a totally different version that FliyingIron's. AH needs to take a page from Just Flight is more directly releasing the same aircraft over and over. All that's different is the engine, the cockpits are basically the same for going on three versions of the Arrow and no one is saying nothing. I actually like the Turbo version so I'm not in the cancel crowd (nor would I ever be). As long as the models are good who car…

I just remembered the abundance of flight training options a user had in FSX where you could read up and take flight lessons with Rod Machado. You could even get your “virtual certificates” and take simulated checkrides with an FAA examiner! Its probably too late for big feature requests but I thought it would be cool if Microsoft partnered up with Rod or maybe even King Schools again to have a flight training side of the simulator for individuals who would like to further their knowledge on flight and sharpen flying skills! I feel like this would be beneficial for the hobby and turn more “casuals” into simmers or maybe even pilots! what are your thoughts? …

  23. Hi all, So when msfs was first released, like many I purchased it and was in awe with my first few tries, but given the issues that became apparent after a few uses, that feeling quickly went away and I haven’t used the sim since probably a month after it was released. I decided I would give flight simulation a break for 2 reasons, first, MSFS just didn’t seem at the time in its base offering what I was looking for in a sim (awaiting on mods and add-ons) and second, while at the same time the sim left a sour taste in my mouth, ill admit it ruined my enjoyment using p3d because I was seeing what msfs can truly be visual wise(No arguments please, this is my pers…

  25. I haven't played in a few months, so I think I fell behind a couple of updates. I went recently went to launch FS2020, and it says I have 77 GB of updates to download, which feels like redownloading the game from scratch. Thing is, I think I may actually have to do this (uninstall and reinstall from scratch), because the update is stuck in an eternal loop of redownloading the same file over and over again, never progressing. Anyone else run into this problem? Did you have to uninstall and reinstall from scratch, or is there another solution? I must confess that I find this very frustrating. These updates are HUGE, and my internet is not fast. It literally takes DAYS …
