Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

So is there such a thing as a truly IFR equipped float plane? Since there is like no ILS over the water, are there modern alternatives that apply to float planes for landing in IFR conditions?

Getting around (winter comming) to start learning and using msfs2020. I was still on FS2004. New computer now has MSFS2020 In FS2004 I had my ch yoke and my ch throttle quadrant plugged in Bothe have throttle mix props. I could use either one Now in MSFS2020 I see it selects ch throttle quadrant. On you you move control seem to work and then o back to idle anyway to have them both on? ny way to tel msfs2020 not to recognize the throttle quandrant when I want to use the yoke?

Around 3 weeks ago I started to get 'friend requests' EVERY time I start MSFS even before I select a departure airport. And it's always from the same 'user ' - FREEHANDLYRIC. I there a setting which can prevent this annoying popup? I have NOT changed any settings yet this started to happen a few weeks ago.

Hi, so the plane (when on the ground) has a tendency to go "into the wind". This means: During takeoff -> Opposite rudder This means during landing -> Opposite rudder But my problem is that after touchdown the plane violently jerks into the wind and i end up 1-3m next to the centerline before i can correct it. Basically my path looks like this: --_______---------- I already try to hold the rudder and use the ailerons to counter but the jerk on touchdown is just to violent...i probably would need to touch down with full rudder but then the plane is very hard to keep stable during the final approach... I just booted up the sim and got a 21mb update. Version number appears the same. No new upgrade notes.

I'm used to scenery, both landscape and objects, morphing, taking shape and filling themselves in as I approach but have never fully understood why or what jargon describes the problem. An example was yesterday when I flew to Compton Abbas for which I have some custom scenery. I spotted hardly any evidence of an airfield as I overflew it but then as I turned and came in to land I saw all the signs and runway markings popping up/taking shape. After landing static aircraft then popped into view, not always complete, with wheels getting added as I got closer. I had been using msfs 2020 since its launch. Every now and then used to have issues and that too after sim updates. After sim update X patch through store, I had issue of downloading other updates and experienced CTD. Now, I reinstalled MSFS 2020 including all from content manager, and I tried to download this essential package I was informed that sim will be reverting to launch screen. When I invoked OK button, sim took me to launch screen and then to check for updates, the essential package is not downloading and the screen stays foggy and hangs on. Can anyone suggest the resolution?

Great sim but from day one issues engaging and disengaging autopilot , either through controllers or through keyboard , cannot switch AP on at will , stays on or come on without selection , even went to extend of buying replacement logitech joysick to replace my thrustmaster one , same issues , have tried and reviewed many options but nothing solves issue , even you tube no real help , really need to address this as I am becoming very concerned , beliive me I have tried everything , help!!!!!!

As you may or may not know, when you save a flight, it saves the weather conditions as well. So when you load a saved flight, it also loads the saved weather conditions and time and you cannot change them anymore. So, if you save a flight with real weather enabled for instance, you may not be able to fly when you load that flight if the weather conditions are too extreme at that time. This is not a problem if the flight you saved was located at an airport since you can start a new flight instead of loading a saved flight. I just landed the Fenix in Toronto, and when I passed about 200 feet the video froze for about 1-2 seconds, and even the sound was erratic. It has happened to me on about 10% of approaches, I wonder if this is a sever problem because my FPS is fine.

Hey guys …any of you getting some freeze when in full screen mode and then hit the win key to say look on a website then minimise the page and get back into the sim. The sim is frozen?? I then hit control alt delete , hit cancel from the list and the sim is working fine again. Is there a work around to this? thanks mike

Ever since SU10 I've been having problems with the g1000 NXi. Mainly with VNAV and any RNAV approach that is supposed to have VNAV support. The issues continued today. Flying into Manila (RPLL) in the Philippines I had loaded the ILS Rwy 06 as the approach, but not a single altitude constraint loaded. I was also unable to set up VNAV with a TOD point - so, the problems continued. After completing the flight (the coupled ILS was no issue). I'm posting this here on the off chance someone might benefit from knowing this can happen as it's a first for me--I posted on the PMDG forum already. I'm flying for SWA in A Pilot's Life, so have done several flights w/ the livery which was updated recently as the original one was causing CTD from several airports and the update, which was a notif from the Operations Center, solved this which was great. I have been using MSFS 2020 ever since its launch. Every now and then I used to encounter issues in the SIM that too after few sim updates. After Sim update X patch through store, I could start the sim up till settings screen, thereafter it crashed while in update download.
