Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I just want to increase the hype 👀 P/S: Before I hear the the nonsense of "SDK is not complete", this is a completely overhauled autopilot system (still missing the custom flightplan though).

Almost to the point you can barely see, too bright. I change settings, lower reflections, bloom to medium, change my monitors settings, but still...when sitting in the cockpit the view outside of the window is as if the sun was right there. Having seen photogrammetry in all shapes and forms within the sim, from spectacular (Japan Update), to mediocre (some North American Cities), I do sometimes prefer the AI generated scenery, which looks better up close and generates at a further distance it seems. It does look a bit too clean up close and does not blend with the surroundings as well, but I find photogrammetry, aside its frequent rendering issues, too dark sometimes, like there is a permanent shadow on it. Even photogrammetry does not always blend well, as the patch of scenery with photogrammetry may have a different Color than the surroundings (often darker). Hello I purchased FS2020 on DVD because although I have a 38Mbps internet connect I thought the DVD install might be quicker and I wanted the printed manual too. Possibly this was correct since I managed to install it from DVD in about 3 hours. I then went to the MS Store and registered the product and attempted to download the remaining software, presumably the game loader. This appears to be only about 1GB in total. However this small download failed with MS telling me I needed to have 127GB free on my hard drive, but I only had 80GB left available. Is there a way to continue the segment after arrival to the gate without having to exit to main menu that I’m not potentially aware of?

I did my first flight in MSFS in a couple of weeks and as always am blown away by the scenery. The sense of immersion is that good. I can say that after 40 years of flying in the real world (now retired) both fixed and rotary wing. The things that makes me park the sim is the lack of decent aircraft a situation hopefully to change soon with the arrival of the CRJ....and hopefully soon after others. I am grateful for the work of those talented people who have modified the CJ4 and TBM to greatly improve them. The next thing is to get the weather nailed. I'd love to see the PMDG DC6, the Toliss air busses from XP11, the Milvis KA350..... plus an accurate add-on weather…

I just wanted to say that this plane is absolutley bloody fantastic!! Ive been flying the TBM since day 1 but now I have turned my attention to the CJ4 and Im proper getting into it, I have a lot to learn about this plane but wow, the working title team have made a fantastic job, thank you guys, it really is MEGA! Back in the old days, there was a limitation if you tried to go north or south, but they were removed for FSX. I'm wondering if the situation is back for MSS. I tried to go to CYLT today, and the map showed me as getting to a certain point and not being able to go further. The old limit was a lot further north. I ended up somewhere over Greenland instead of where I was trying to be, eventhough the GPS said I was right there.

When taking off with A320 plane goes straight up and program crashes. Anyone had this problem and how to fix it.

I tried asking this in the MS forum, but didn't get a useful reply, so I thought I'd try here. For everyone who has physical or virtual detents set up, how do you handle them in FS? I have physical detents on my Virpil CM3 throttle set at 4% for idle/off and 72% for AB. In DCS , it is easy to sort this, so that planes without finger lifts and afterburners throttle range can just be set to 4-72%. In FS that doesn’t seem to be possible. What I don’t want is to be permanently going over detents just to get full travel in planes in FS, I just want to tell MS that the 0-100% virtual travel is 4-72% in physical travel. I bought FSX2020 through Steam and now have a new computer. What surprised me was the long download. I did not have that with the old computer. But now a completely different problem. The game starts, but I have only two aircraft. The flight school is completely gray, I can not select anything. It is as if content is missing. If I select an airfield on the world map, the game crashes when loading. The folder has 86 GB...there is something missing. When I check files, the message comes that everything is ok. Any idea why all of the cockpits in the default FS2020 aircrafts are all blurry? Probably, by now, when many are reporting on the forums the CTDs that happen anywhere and at anytime, most will know that a ticket should be raised to Zendesk. The fluff we have to read by persons saying do this and do that, does not mean it will work for another. It will probably cause more headaches! I contacted Zendesk and thought it would be added to a long list of others' who have seen an increase of CTDs. Within hours I actually had a person contact me requesting that I undertake a few things including sending a couple of files: mymsinfo.txt and DxDiag.txt. Yesterday I upgraded the RAM (32GB) and i noticed that Flight Simulator was using almost all of that. Looking at the processes, I noticed that Flight Simulator is double, with a copy. https://ibb.co/fnt3K9n I am sure that i'm running it once. I'm not sure if it is normal. Opinions?
