Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Good news, There will be a replay tool available in January 2021, it is called Flight Control Replay. I am not involved in the development, nor am I sponsored. I am just participating in the closed beta an I got the permission to create a video for the community and use it in my streams. I am not Stephen Spielberg, so don´t expect too much in terms of cinematics in my preview video. However, the tool is actually really great! Initially, when flying, I would typically have the airfields labels turned on, so I could see exactly where they were. But it made the flying almost pointless, with the only challenge being the actual landing. So I turned off the labels, and then just referred to the VFR map. But, again, this still seems like a hell of a cheat, just following the magenta line until a visual of the airstrip is obtained. And referring to air charts, or Ordnance Survey maps instead is out of the question as I fly in VR. So, I decided to not use any visual reference aids at all. I am experiencing two problems with some (not all) new add-on airports (ones not in the default MSFS). First, while the airport buildings do show up, often the runways and taxiways do not -- there is only grass where the runways should be. Strange! Secondly, these airports do not appear on the MSFS world map. even though they do appear on Little Nav Map. One example where both problems appear is the add-on Meigs, though there are others. Any ideas on dealing with either or both of these issues would be appreciated.

Could this be the CRJ about to launch? or am i jumping the gun. seems strange to be doing web maintenance during working hours.

Is there any way to read over the EULA for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 before making a purchase decision?

I am trying to reinstall the filght simulator however when I get to the screen that shows the opening scenery I'm not able to get any further such as installing the program and there is a circle on the bottom right that keeps rotating. Anyone else experience this problem. I have reinstalled several times with no problems in the past.

Is there anyway to speed up the loading process of this sim? I know mine takes over a minute to reach the Welcome selection page.

So finally after 6 months my Bravo is being shipped (Avworld Canada). I have a bit of experience using controls in P3D and setting them up via FSUIPC. I find FSUIPC to be a bit un-user friendly and has quite a steep learning curve, however, it is extremely powerful. I wanted to know if I am better off using the default MSFS UI to set up all of my controls or should I run everything through FSUPIC? I currently have the HoneyComb Alpha, Bravo and TPR Rudder Pedals. I'm also pretty much only flying thee CJ4 mod and the Mooney and I want to have ALL of the controls/buttons bound my my controllers so I barely need to use the mouse to minipulate buttons etc in the VC. …

The Bleriot XI (Gnome version for sanity ) flying out of the new LFKL Brindas (located near Lyon France) addon replete with pastoral scenes, dairy cows and a hot air balloon. Bit of a novelty download. Apparently the shortest registered airstrip in the EU. Very basic airport but for $US5.00 cannot complain, the cows are a nice touch.

2 updates since it came out shows that they are trying to improve the quality and performance of this little aircrafts.

This will be useful for those who are working on MSFS sceneries. I think I finally mastered multi-room parallax texture properly. Here's the test video with a simple cube test building. Emission works too. What's funny is that rooms are randomized somehow by the sim. They are showing in a different order than I have them in my background texture. Same for emission rooms. But that's OK, I think it's meant to remove a pattern look from large buildings, especially at night. See night look in the second half of the video. Hi everyone So I've been flying this awesome plane now for a few days but I don't think the anti ice is working correctly, I have it to on in the fmc and also the anti ice switched to on in the fligjtdeck but still it ices up and I end up having to land the plane with icing still on the windshield and it takes about 30 mins for it to melt and this is in live weather by the way. In the TBM after putting on the anti ice it would clear pretty much in a few seconds but not in the CJ4.. I don't get it?? I fly 100% live weather every flight....anyone advise me here... thanks. Okay, this should not be difficult. I've been computing, flight simming and accessing forums of all kinds for over 40 years (I'm 70 years old) but... I can't figure out the Microsoft MSFS forum. I can sign into Microsoft's MSFS forum. I can navigate all of the categories, read all the messages etc. What I can no longer do is post a new topic. If I move my cursor to the NEW TOPIC button I get the GhostBuster's logo (circle with a slash through it). I'm signed in, I can check all of my personal information. Everything looks correct. Been subscribed to Navigraph since August, but haven't tried the beta for MSFS yet as I know it originally had some issues like causing CTD's or double runways in some cases etc. Just wondering how it's doing now as I'm thinking of installing the beta to try it out.

I have been trying to get custom views mapped to my numpad number array vs the top row number set with no luck. This is where you do left-ctrl/left-alt and then a number to store the view and then left-alt number to set the view. I can map the views to the top row of numbers on my keyboard, so I know that this is working but I cannot map the views to the numpad array. Is this expected behavior? I have tried with NumLock set and NumLock not set and it makes no difference. Is there some configuration setting I need to check to accept the numpad values? Any suggestions on making this work would be great. Thanks -david-

For who did not know, but I think it is great! For the first time now flying in the Carenado Mooney without the annoying icing effects! You can assign a hotkey to TOGGLE WINDSHIELD ICE and then the icing effects will disappear also on any other aircraft like Carenado Mooney or 172. If you also change the icing effects to Visual only under assistance options you will have a FAKE ANTI ICE SYSTEM 😉 https://www.flightsimulator.blog/2021/02/09/disable-windshield-icing-effect/

Freeware or Payware scenery mods which have updated the default scenery at airports are amazing, but, is there a way that the default gate numbers can be changed to actual real world gate numbers? It is very annoying when wanting to start at a certain gate to find the numbers dont match, or after landing to be told you need to go to a certain gate which isnt on the chart or the airport
