PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster

Good morning, I am doing a flight and I think I have followed the procedures outlined in the Tutorial to include using the AFE. However, when I attempt to engage the autopilot, the switch wont turn on. Was this an issue on my end or is there I step that I might have missed that would not allow me to engage the autopilot?

Turning on the instrument power using the three switches with the red bar turns on the noisy whine. Is that normal? And the red indicator light is always on, indicating that there is no power to the instruments. Turning the AFE on or off did not affect this.

I was getting the activation prompt and even though I pasted and typed the code the DC 6 was not activating, even though it would load. The reason it was not activating is that no proper internet connection was available. Still, I assumed the plane was activated. Some really funky things were going om, notably a guzzling fuel consumption and dying engines half way to the runway. The tanks were being emptied! I have activated it now and the fuel consumption is back to normal so please, make sure it is properly activated otherwise you will be disappointed.

My first flight followed the tutorial and I used AFE quite a lot. It was fine but AFE is not really my thing. I really want to learn to fly this thing. Second flight, I followed the normal procedures. There were a few things in there that didn't correspond to the diagrams starting on page 25, however. Inverter switches—all. three “ON.” None of them have an "on" position, so I assumed it to mean the option that wasn't "off" or "standby" - right? hello, Reality XP has released a new GTN 750/650 and it works very well with the DC-6 out of the box (as a 2D pop up) , i was wondering if you guys (PMDG) could integrate this into DC-6 3D cockpit or if you could help the users do it themselves ? . kind regards, jaffer

Hi, When I'm reaching FL150 and hit autopilot altitude hold, all windows (AFE, Load Manager , etc.) are closing by themselves and cannot be opened again. Regards

Dear PMDG Team, many thanks for the DC-6! I was really waiting for her ... (but thats valid for all of your other products, too!) As long time A2A User it was not difficult to get her up and running from cold and dark without any instructions ;) I'm on holidays now till mid September, so: bad timimng. But will create a LINDA module for her afterwards. Enjoy flying!

1) I can invoke FSUIPC and see the X and Y axis for my Yoke active... and its assigned to Elv and Aileron. But it has no effect on the aircraft I managed to assign four throttle to the aircrafts 4 throttles Saitek Rudder is working fine. Hmmmmmmmm

I have lost my oil temperature indication in engine #2. I have about 13 gallons of oil left in the engine and my oil pressure is in the green. Is this caused by low oil or something else? I looked in the manual for this problem but was unable to find it. Thanks for your help!

As most in the FlightSim world, not living under a rock know, the PMDG DC-6 Beta for P3D & FSX is well under way. I have lived in Florida for the past three decades, and am used to hot, and not so very hot. Therefore, when I am not flying in the high FLs across Europe, I like spending time in the Orbx world, mostly in the Pacific North West and Alaska. Hello, I recently installed your DC-6 to my simulator all works fine but every time i turn on the GPS (particularly at night) and my ship is on the ground at a airfield the taxi and runway lights will shine throught the cockpit and into the fuselage until the unit is turned off. :[ also the flap warning horn will not sound for all four throttles and will only sound when the inverters are off, is this normal? Please Help!! I have reinstalled numerous times and i really love this plane!!!

Im starting to get the hang of flying the dc6 in XP, but I have a few questions. 1. What is the proper way of loading fuel in this airplane, especially when not using full tanks? What tanks do you fill first? I couldn't seem to find a clear answer in the POH, aside from never having more in the outboard tanks than the inboards. 2. Engine parameters dont match the charts at all. I know its an old airplane, and the engines have been refitted several times etc, but the numbers are not just off by a little bit, they are not even close! Hello guys. two issues 1- on the pmdg site i sent a pw reset 4x today and never got a reply 2- i am on mac. xp 11. dc6 beta owner. i went to reinstall a fresh download but the installer keeps failing- * im on my iphone now otherwise id upload screenshots - reason- in xp 11for me the plane loads and works but the rudder lock red lever in cockpit doesnt move , and the stairs etc remain attached to the plane. it seems a plugin isn't working please help. i always prefer vendor support vs forum but i cant get my pw. thanks

I though I would share a short flight I routinely make from Corpus Christi to Houston Hobby Texas, today instead of the Chancellor we're taking the Cloudmaster DC-6B, shown here on the West FBO ramp with all the ramp manager items selected: I elected to load 7200 lbs of fuel, much more than needed for the short trip, and we have 17 pax and bags for a gross weight of just under 74,000 lbs. Winds are light out of the North today so departing runway 36 to catch V20 to Houston: Normal procedure is for gear and flaps up and nose down to accelerate at about 75 ft AGL until 140-160 kts for the climb. Im thinking about buying the dc6 but want to be able to use it with xp11. I know that austin made some significant changes to the xp11 flight model and engine model to fix some inaccuracies from xp10. I know ixeg is going to have to do some significant work to their 737 to get it to work properly with xp11 since they spent so much time getting around the default xp10 flight model. Im wondering how accurately the dc6 is working in xp11? Will it need a flight model/ engine model rework for xp11, and if so is anything in the works? Hello! Today I opened the PMDG Operation Center since a while and it installed an update. Now there are entrys for the DC-6 for FSX versions and P3D... Have not read something about this the last time, maybe I missed some news? Is there something coming for FSX and P3D or is this just an placeholder? Thanks!

While studying the hydraulic system I started wondering how I can simulate hydraulic failures that allow me to practice the emergency checklist in order to isolate hydraulic leaks. This then led me to the on question on how to simulate failures in general. Besides the realism options I did not find any particular reference to failures. Two items however look interesting: Engine damage: does it only include damage based on bad engine treatment or also random failures of various components? CB failures: what kind of failure rate do they have and what will the actual failure be? Will they just pop out or will they indeed simulate a short from which on can or cann…
