Hi, firstly thanks for not making us wait too long for the Mac version (yay!) and the plane is an absolute beauty! Glad to be finally buying and flying a PMDG product. Just a quick note, I had a crash to desktop on my first run which the x-plane log told me was due to the 32 bit version of the plugin in the aircraft's plugin folder. As I'm running 64bit, I've removed the "32" folders from the plugins folders for both versions and now so far, everything is great. I share this in case others come across the same issue... Also, the installer didn't give me a choice of where to install and actually placed the PMDG folder into a clean X-Plane demo I keep on my desktop.…

The DC-6B has a fuel capacity of 5512 gallons of 100LL, or 33,127.12 lbs. The current PMDG DC-6B can carry about 4051 gallons. This plane is supposed to be intercontinental?

Hello, I'm on the ground on LFBD Airport in France. I switch both the NAV 1 and NAV 2 on the VOR frequency of SAU ( 116.8 MHz ) I'm in range of the SAU VOR. ----- On the Captain's Flight Instruments Panel : I select the direct radial TO inbound the SAU VOR on the Garmin VOR/LOC/GS Indicator : radial 112° TO The needle of the VOR Indicator 1 & 2 and the direct radial TO on the Garmin VOR/LOC/GS Indicator are coherent and needle centered : 112° for the both (all is OK) -------------------------------------- On the First Officer's Panel Instruments, this is not the case : The needle of the VOR Indicator 1 & 2 indicate 112° (that's OK) The direct ra…

Hi folks, flying the J4100, 737NGX and 777 I often follow real timetables. In the advent of the DC-6 I'd like to collect in this thread former DC-6 routings and timetables. Google doesn't find a lot, e.g. http://airwaysnews.com/html/timetable-and-route-maps/european-airlines-timetables-route-maps-and-history http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/264543/1955-klm-routing/ Who can provide more? ==================== (Here part of the content of the second link with Constellation, DC-6, DC-3. Huh, 8 stop-overs from AMS to TYO...) KLM’s Routing in 1955 Northern Summer season service is the following: AMSTERDAM – ASIA – SYDNEY **KL821 …

I took the plunge and bought the DC-6 after the first update as it addressed my worries about the initial release. Overall I'm very pleased with the sim, apart from one thing. The reflections in the instrument glass seems excessive. I've never sat in a DC-6, but I've spent a lot of time on classic airliner flight decks and usually the instruments have non reflective glass. As a result you look straight through the glass and don't notice it. You might see reflections in the glass of instruments off to one side, but looking directly at gauges in front of you there is no reflection. Photos online of DC-6 flightdecks show almost no reflections in the instrument glass. …

I can't operate non of these radios, they seem to be "fake". The manuals look over the van instruments, but I could not find any sections on the radios themselves, and the users' videos on youtube are little informative. If there are good tutorial videos (including checklists) please suggest.

The Prop Pitch Selector and Prop Rev Lights work normal when clicking on the red handle with my mouse. This is hard to operate on landing and control the aircraft. I have the rev thrust key assigned to operate setup in Xplane. The Prop Rev Lights for all engs illuminate when I operate the assigned key, but the red Prop Pitch Sel does not move and all throttles are at idle. Dave Hannula

The crew size moddeling is too big. Pilot could hardly put his head with arm and shoulder outside the sliding window. See what did Mr. Henning at the very first PMDG DC-6 annoucement as a comparison. Is it possible to correct the crew size in any further update or can you give the possibility to remove the crew like it is on NGX? Ben.Bouilliez

All of a sudden my AFE has gone silent. All of the sounds of switches, engines, etc. all work. Yet the speaking responses of the AFE do not. I can play the WAV files with Quicktime no problem. I have restarted and even re-installed the DC-6. All I can think of is that I did an Abort earlier and since then he is speechless. How do I get it back? Hello, How to Cross feed Fuel Tanks? I keep running out of Fuel in Main Tank 1 and Main Tank 4. I've tried all Cross-feed levers' positions, and also Fuel Booster pumps. Nothing has worked . Many thanks, Dainius Psitulskis

Hi, possibly I make some mistakes, please help: After using AFE for T/O, climb and cruise for a while sometimes I need to gain full manual control over the aircraft for example when I travel through alpine valleys in Switzerland to make a landing at LSZS Rwy 03 (5600 ft) coming from south via Julier Pass . So I need to slow down the aircraft to about 120-130 knots in 9000 ft and manually setting flaps to 20 or 30 to get around the steep curves.. But no movement of flaps and later on gear for landing is possible. The levers move but no reaction ! What I'm doing wrong ? When I wake up the AFE with the "In Range" workflow and set him to sleep again after f…

Apologies, I should have made clear that this thread was a request rather than an answer, perhaps by including a question mark in the title. I can't find how to add it now. Anyway, here's my post: Anyone got a nice set of cameras set up for the DC6 that they'd like to share? I've setup a few views but I'm not the best at it. Thanks.

Hi, at first many thanks for this great landmark aircraft which teach you what a demanding job it was to manage for example a 10 hour long distance flight. As a member of the Swiss SCFA association (http://www.superconstellation.org/) we have the oportunity to make travels through Europe with a Lockheed L 1049 Superconstellation (HB-RSC). So some procedures we are familiar e.g. engine management which you can hear very well as passenger. This addon now finally enabled me after a couple of attempts to conquer the little bit strange X-PLANE as a long term FSX/P3D simmer. It was worth it to do so. Now some questions and suggestions to be maybe considered: 1…

Hi, I was wondering why the AFE sets the power settings of the plane to 26" MAP and 2200 RPM. I couldn't find a recommendation in the POH. Using this settings it is kind of hard to lose altitude and / or speed in level flight. The 26" MAP seems to be a little bit high for my taste, is it okay to reduce this? What is the minimum manifold pressure? Can I reduce the thrust to idle? What is the reasoning behind this high manifold pressure setting? Any answer would be appreciated Best regards, Benjamin Isbarn

It seems I can command pretty much everything by keyboard except the engines. Yes, I know, get a throttle. But I kind of like the flexibility of the keyboard too. I know I can't just throttle back to flight idle like a jet but can't I adjust power when I need it? Is the AFE locking the keyboard out? Can I slap him so he stops? I tried yelling at him when we were about to fly into the ground but to no avail. I had to order a run of the checklist to get climb power.

These are just the initial problems as I haven't gotten past them. On my system, the plane only loads one livery, the default, no matter which livery I choose. More important, as soon as I load scenario 1, all four engines fail, smoking, and the plane rocks back on its tail. The log output for the event is: [33m2016/06/29 06:46:45 [1] Un-muting new cockpit sounds[37m [31m2016/06/29 06:46:56 [2] Uh oh, cannot load sound 'PMDGDC6_ENGSHUTDOWN2' because alGenSources says there's a problem: Unknown error.[37m [31m2016/06/29 06:46:56 [2] Uh oh, cannot load sound 'PMDGDC6_ENGSHUTDOWN4' because alGenSources says there's a problem: Unknown error.[37m [31m2016/06/29 06:47:23 […
