	Twice in succession while attempting to finish a flight from KLGA to EGLL in the DC-6, the flight has frozen after about four hours into each flight. Yesterday, my internet connection dropped during the first attempt. I thought that was the problem but today the flight froze at about the same place with no other indications of problems. I wonder if the saved state of the previous flight may have corrupted todays flight. I'm using MSFS2020. Any ideas?

I've just had to download all the liveries all over again, what's the implication of that considering I now have the them in 2 places?

<p>
	Hello,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	finally, a DC-6 version is ready now.
</p>

<p>
	This was really hard work due to no SDK and a complete different coding style as other PMDG addons.
</p>

<p>
	Many functions are already covered with v1.0. Only Doors are not tested with cargo version. (Haven't flown a cargo version now, hope there are no big differences at all)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Available as always in the LINDA forum:

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Below is a list of the current functions ...

	Funny thing is that if using the AFE (Artificial Flight Engineer) for take off and cruise and even landing I cannot put the flaps down at any speed, even if I disengage the AFE. Seems like the flaps are locked. If I do not use the AFE and fly the whole flight manually I can use flaps most anytime.

<p>
	After following the two tutorials, I decided to try a flight on my own. I configured the plane as cold and dark and followed the normal procedures in the POH to power it up. I had selected realistic start up for engines, but I could not get them started. I know I have missed a thing or two, but I can't figure it out. With realistic start off, I have no problem getting them to start.
</p>

<p>
	Before start, I have the main fuel selectors set to on, throttle about 1/4 inch open and mixtures off. I crank the starter, wait 12 seconds and then turn the magnetos to both and the boost pump to low. According to the POH, the engine should now start, and I should the mixture to rich after that. I also tried the primer without that working. To make sure I did not miss any step, I also let the AFE do the before start procedures. (I did notice that my flight engineer leaves the mixture at auto rich and the magnetos set to both. I'm quite sure the mixture should be off until the engine fires up, or...?)
</p>

<p>
	I have not seen anyone else reporting any problem, so I know this is an error on my part. I'm hoping someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong here.

<p>
	As I listed years ago, the PMDG DC-6 is far from perfect.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://dev.avsim.com/forums/topic/516911-pmdg-dc-6-current-state-seems-a-bit-underwhelming/" rel="">https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/516911-pmdg-dc-6-current-state-seems-a-bit-underwhelming/</a>
</p>

<p>
	I'm back into FSX and see PMDG still didn't address much. <span style="font-size:9px;">(the see-through engine area isn't even fixed?!! pathetic)</span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So I'm trying to find work-arounds for their prerogatives:
</p>

<ol><li>
		throttle increase/decrease using game controller buttons
	</li>
	<li>
		Propeller Low/Propeller High using keyboard keys
	</li>
	<li>
		Mixture control using keyboard keys
	</li>
	<li>
		Shift+E then # door activation using keyboard keys
	</li>
	<li>
		map appropriate lights to default keyboard keys
	</li>
</ol><p>

</p>

<p>
	Will the payed version of FSUIPC be able solve everything on my list?
</p>

<p>
	From what I've read LINDA 'only' does controller buttons, not keyboard keys, correct?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'm not familiar with FSUIPC limitations so any help or redirects are appreciated.
</p>

<p>
	Thank you.
</p>

<p>
	Posting here because, many moons ago, this was my reference forum for PMDG, and still is, although it's been a long time since I last posted in here.
</p>

<p>
	The main purpose of this thread is a public acknowledgement for the satisfaction / pleasure / joy I am getting from this MFS add-on.
</p>

<p>
	I have been very conservative regrading adding stuff to my "Community" folder, and in a recent fresh install of SU5 + HFs I even avoided installing regional updates.
</p>

<p>
	The PMDG dc-6 was a first buy because I had never bought it for any of the other platforms. I confess I was a bit reluctant because we all know that although MFS looks like a very promising platform, it is not free from quirks, limitations, bugs, that can cause difficulties to developers looking for detailed modelling of their addons, but I have to say the dc-6 was a true surprise on the VERY POSITIVE side !
</p>

<p>
	I haven't had much time to seat in front of the PC and be able to enjoy the many details of this excellent module, but the flights I have completed brought me a feeling of fulfilment that makes it already my goto aircraft whenever I get some time to play MFS.
</p>

<p>
	Yet another compliment goes to Robert for the excellent series of tutorial videos !
</p>

<p>
	Looking forward to continue to see PMDG bring more of their aircraft to MFS !
</p>

<p>
	Morning all,
</p>

<p>
	Updated MSFS and the latest updates for the DC-6, when flying using the VE, even with all realistic failures , engine starts etc. turned off, I was getting engine 2 over revving and not in sync with the other engines and the blue sync light stays on even if i switched it to lower revs. The engines throttle was not in sync with the other engines even though the VE was controlling the throttles. Tried uninstalling the DC-6 and reinstalling but didn't make any difference.
</p>

<p>
	Could it be the superchargers, I used them as per the instructions and the VE to set cruise. Also I was getting oil pressure and carb temp warnings on the EFB.
</p>

<p>
	Not used MSFS that much, I use the CH yoke and have removed the Mixture axis as I understand this may cause issues.
</p>

<p>
	Also I was wondering if the DC-6 for P3D works in V5 as I might be temped to buy it, but if there are issues with it in V5 I might leave until PMDG actual update it, which hopefully they will.
</p>

<p>
	Could it be a few update glitches or am I doing something wrong
</p>

	I am considering picking up the PMDG DC-6.  How does this compare with A2A's Connie.  I realize both planes are exceptionally well modeled.  I have the Connie and like it.  How does PMDG's compare with performance.  How does its performance compare with the PMDG NGXu which I have as well.  I am using VR for my system so would like some feedback on this

<p>
	This really isn't a big issue for me, but I thought I would include it for the sake of completeness.
</p>

<p>
	In testing a 'competitor' propliner **coughcough** some users discovered that the superchargers are not terribly accurate. Specifically, their output (MAP increase) has no relation to engine RPM. The aircraft flies as though it is equipped with turbos equipped with automatic waste gate control.
</p>

<p>
	Unfortunately, it appears the PMDG DC-6A/B suffers from the same limitation. In our opinion, this is due to the base Microsoft code, and how it handles forced induction.
</p>

<p>
	At the critical altitude... in low blower.... I pulled the propeller synchronizer from 2400 to 1500 RPM and noticed no drop in MAP. In fact, doing this caused the BMEP to greatly increase. The aircraft behaves as though the supercharger compressors are spinning at their maximum RPM at all times, regardless of crankshaft RPM.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks,
</p>

<p>
	Dear PMDG team,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	First of all, CONGRATULATIONS! The DC-6 is by far the best Classic Airliner available for P3D. I'm absolutely in love for this plane! Tha sounds, the cockpit textures, the flight model, and the systems modelling... Everything is so accurately well done that I sometimes can almost feel the scent of "old plane" filling my office... It's my default plane from now on!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I would like to know if it's possible to assign a joystick axis or button in order to open/close the carburetor air levers. I found it quite difficult to work these levers from the pilot's seat, specially during the high workload phases of the flight.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks for the attention
</p>

	I wonder if someone could help me. I am running the DC6 on msfs and have the problem finding how to unlock the gust lock. I looked through all the doc but there is very little about gust lock. I would very much appreciate your help.

	So i wanted to know if there was a way to put the RXP GTN in the VC. I added the 2d panel but i wasnt able to have the GTN 650 VC because i couldn't select it in the Realism Options. I never bought the Flight1 GTN, but i was wondering if there was a way to bypass this and add the RXP GTN in the VC anyway? I've tried editing the f1_gtn650 panel.cfg but to no avail the DC-6 is still using the GNS VC because i it still in GNS 430 mode in realism options.

<p>
	I'm using FSX-SE.  I notice that the PMDG DC-6B aircraft.cfg file contains two definitions for fuel capacity. The 3322 gallon capacity is active, the 5512 gallon capacity is commented out. I think many actual DC-6s/C-118s did hold 5512 gallons of fuel and I've seen discussions about the PMDG version of the DC-6 expanding to 10 tanks which would then allow the increases fuel capacity.<br /><br />
	Is it possible to activate the 5512 gallon capacity in the PMDG DC-6 and if so, how? I replaced the 3322 gallon capacity with 5512 in my C-118. The fuel gauges showed the increase. The load manager also showed the increase but when I tweaked a fuel tank window in the load manager, the fuel capacity reverted to 3322. Is there a way around this limitation? Has anyone tried expanding the fuel capacity successfully?
</p>

<p>
	Anybody know if PMDG will update the DC-6 to take advantage of the increased fuel capacity?
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance,
</p>

<p>
	Good morning everyone,
</p>

<p>
	I'm having some problem with the option menu in the dc6
</p>

<p>
	 I cannot switch between the standard Bendix radios(no Gps) and the Gps options,  when I click on a different radio option the aircraft is reloaded but with the same radio stack(no change occurred).  I tried to reinstall it but I still have the same problem. Did anyone have the same problem?

	I have various switch panels with Leo Bodnar USB interfaces &amp; i am trying to configure the DC6 to operate via these switch panels using SPAD next but am unable to find any commands. So far the only commands I have found which are related to the DC6 are LVAR but they have no descriptive meaning E.G. "DC6_002.obj" and there are loads of these commands with different obj numbers so without some kind of info list I do not know what each command operates in the plane (The 737 &amp; 747 are so much easier to config

<p>
	Hello!
</p>

<p>
	Since I use now a Saitek FIP with a nice VOR gauge I wondered if it is possible to mod the DC6 in a way that I can set the heading via the VOR gauge heading bug instead of chasing the heading with the standard DC6 autopilot?
</p>

<p>
	I know, it is not historic and accurate... but it would be nice to have this mod if possible...
</p>

<p>
	Thank you

	Can anyone confirm that the DC-6 has PBR graphics applied to the latest downloads?

<p>
	I know the shop site says P3d4.4+, but no mention of PBR being added.
