Hi folks, checking the POH I was looking for information on realistic cruise speeds for long distance flights. On my historic KLM601 flight Glasgow to Gander I experienced ground speed of an average 235kts, of course with some (changing) head winds. 1. I am not sure on how to interpret the material in the POH, 2. eg. in chapter 4.4, graphs 89 etc. 3. Wiki states 507km/h = 274kts, far away from my experienced IAS and GS. 4. Good day Everyone, I seem to be encountering a rather strange issue. Upon loading into the default LIRF (Rome) with the DC6 Olympic Airways, the cockpit with all panels black is shown for a few seconds before the sim CTD. I currently only have ORBX Vector, Global and Europe_LC installed on a fresh P3D version When loading into the default scenario at Eglin AFB and only changing the aircraft to the DC6, everything seems to start fine. In addition, when I load into LIRF with any other default aircraft, everything loads fine as well. Thus it must be the combination of the location and aircraft causing the crash. Hi, Is there a way to turn off the green status line message in P3D V4 just for the DC6? It's useful during a procedure, but when it just says maintaining it's not overly useful and it blocks messages from other addons like AS and GSX. Also, I was watching a YT vid of someone flying the DC6 in xplane (frooglesim most likely) and he seemed to be able to select approach procedures on the GPS. I'll need to go back and find the right part of the right video, but whenever I try that in P3D I seem to just get a blank page. I am wondering if I can do a DC-6 overnight flight without actively monitoring the systems. Well, simply said, the captain wants to go to bed during the cruise phase. Yesterday I found out that I can pick up the GTN 650 as well as the 750 for P3DV4 for a bargain as I already had the 750 for V3. And so I did. The 650 now allows me to do longer flights without having to tune radios and set courses every half an hour (since the PMDG GPS gave me constant crashes I simply ignored its existence). The 650 is awesome. But there is still an obstacle I need to overcome. The fuel tanks. At some point, the main tanks run dry and someone has to switch to the alternate tanks. I hav…

Yesterday I did a flight with the Everts Air Cargo DC-6 N747CE in it's natural habitat,..... Alaska! The route was a typical Everts Air route, flightno VTS35 from PANC to PAED to load military goods for the Long Range Radar Stations like PACZ. Everts does a lot of flights for the armed forces. The DC-6 is the perfect plane for the short gravel stripes at these LRRS. The PMDG DC-6 is not an exeption on that, great fun! One lovely landing at PACZ which can only be approached and land on RWY02 because of the hills in the surroundings. This type of flying on FSX is very hard. Is the DC6 in FSX and prepared counting the operating time per repaint? I flew with the fresh installed UAL repaint and it didnt show the times I flew yesterday, with the KLM repaint.... Or is there a bug regarding not saved times? (i have seen somewhere in this forum a topic about this, but it is not clear if bug or not) Thank you!

So, I've downloaded the paint kit for the DC-6, FSX:SE version. Used it to paint both A and B models. My A model livery turned out perfectly fine, but the fuselage on my B model shows as shining black when I load it in the simulator. I followed the instructions to the letter, as I would think the success of the A model would show. I noticed that when I paste the fuse sections for the B model, the windows are all slightly off from the template. Is there something I'm missing, or is this an issue anyone else has had? Thank you.

Hello! I did my firts flight now with the GTN-650 and was wondering how i can set up the NAV1 for ILS. So the GTN-650 is instead the NAV1 Radio and the GTN can´t set a Nav1 Frequency. How can i do an ILS Approach with GTN-650?

Dear Friends, I installed the DC6 on P3Dv4. At first, all perfect, but (I noticed it after the last update) on the LOAD MANAGER page everything is the same as it is taught in the introduction manual, but the SAVE FUEL & LOADOUT SETTINGS warning does not appear. I can not say if it was due to the last update or it was something I played. It can be fixed? Should I uninstall and reinstall the aircraft again? Any solution? Thank you

Odd issue today. My left radio stack does not appear to be functioning. When I turn it on it lights up but the frequency displays are still black. Any ideas what's going on?

Hello, All: I searched this forum and was not able to find any information on the DC-6 paint kit. Currently PMDG only has the X-Plane version with X-Plane install instructions: I'm looking for instructions to publish liveries for P3D/FSX. I am assuming we can use the Operations Center to package and install custom paints but I'd like to make sure. I've already started my own paints and just want to make sure I install them correctly and that I am using the correct files. If anyone knows where the instructions are for the other flight sim platforms I would appreciate it very much. Thanks!

How can i switch the VOR / Glidscope Indicator source from NAV1 to NAV2? There is nothing about it in the manual. Alexander

There is the possibility of installing an alternative autopilot on the DC-6 (it can be from Cessna, Boeing, etc.), just to facilitate some basic operations like altitude hold, HDG mode, etc. No need to use the game's hot keys.

Hi guys! It has happened twice to me that if i save a flight with the engines in green, when i reload the flight they reload in yellow. If then i save the flight, close the sim, reopen the sim and reload the flight they now load in orange. Is this happening to more people or is just me?

This is a odd one when iam at ftx airport yscb after starting engine 3 it wont allow me to select any engine (start selector switch) always goes back to engine Number 3, at any other airport its fine after running the afe checks i always hear him say start engines but not at yscb. Wonder anyone else who has ftx yscb has the same issue

The latest update lists the following point: "Open windows/forward right door now admit exterior sounds to cockpit, fade in/out with aperture" So, when i am opening the cockpit window, the engines sound should increase? I have the newest update, but the volume does not change. (P3d v4) Does it work in your cockpit? Alexander

have tried google and searching here with zero luck finally caved and got the dc6 for Xplane last night. installed no problem, plane loads in the game and bam enter the activation id pops up, no problem I have that bad boy right here next to me, but no matter what I do it will not activate to save my bloody life. it will say activation unsuccessful due to wrong id or internet connection. my connection is good and I have gone over the id like a forensics investigator to make sure it was correct and it seems to be flawless. tried looking in the operations center to see if there was a way to enter it in there, but no Xplane option seems to be in there, just my 737 for p…
