PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster

As I’m watching in replay the engines keep quitting and restarting? Any ideas, I have plenty of fuel.

I was wondering when OR IF the DC-6 will be made compatible with XP11. Care to shed some light?

Pilots, Before I spend the money. Will the newly released Flight 1 GTN 430 work with the Cloudmaster? By work, I mean fully integrated in the virtual cockpit panel, etc. I'd prefer not to have to work off a pop up. I presently have the GTN 650 in the aircraft but would prefer to use something a little more "dated". Thanks! Stephen Luebbert

Hey, on 3 occasions now (out of 8 flights, 4 of them between 2 and 4 hours without any problem) I had a CTD. The logfile within the PMDG folder only has logged the startup, but nothing more. There is also no windows crash report. P3D just quit without any prompts or warnings. One time it was on taxi out with the AFE finished with the after start items, 2 times at or near the top of descend with the AFE just finished the descend checklist. System is P3DV4. Since P3D until now only had CTD's with the DC-6, I think it must be related to it- however, as nothing has been logged, I can't provide any further informations.. Did anyone else have this? As …

Hi. Just bought the DC-6 to recreate United Airlines flight 629. Only to find out that it only comes with the PMDG livery and those available to download from PMDG are only for X Plane. I have seen a few liveries in this forum but none of United Airlines. Does anybody know if there is a 1950's livery of UAL for the FSX version anywhere? I have searched all over the internet. Really strange that this popular airline is not represented.

Hi, I'm having a problem with the DC-6. Whenever I try to launch a flight I get a fatal error in P3D V3.4. I can launch any other aircraft without problems. I checked the forum and could not find anything on my problem. I am running FSX all updates Gold edition. After about 30 to 45 mins. My screen fades to black but FSX never errors out. This is the first PMDG plane so I am not sure what I did wrong. I have set FSX up as the docs said and changed my FSX.cfg file per the docs as well. Thanks for any info. Eddie

These are DC-6's that flew well into the late 90's carrying passengers, cargo but mainly meat (the "meat haulers"), working for obscure and at times one-airplane airlines. Some of them crashed (one when the pilot decided to abort a take-off, on a 5000 ft runway, when one engine failed at V1) and some, can still be seen languishing in the harsh environment of the high Andes mountains.

I've searched around for a fix for this, but only turned up a fix for X-Plane users. I'm running FSX and all other sounds work (switches, engines, ect.) but the AFE seems to have lost his voice. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Brendan Baker

I just noticed an issue the the digital displays for the transponder and radio stack where larger sets of numbers are displayed over the readouts. It shows up day or night, regardless of what repaint I use. Also, you can't see it in the screenshot but radio frequency portions of the GPS screen seem to be oversized and don't fit properly within their respective sections. Screenshot attached.

Since the last Xplane 11 update the DC-6 loads with the pilots visible inside the cockpit, the flight engineer tab is gone and none of the switches are functional. Has anyone else had this issue and found a workaround? I am aware PMDG does not support Xplane 11. I just thought I would give it a shot and see if the community has had this issue and found a fix. Gents, What is not modelled please.... Is it possible for PMDG to let us know what is is NOT modelled in this Sim? It is by far the most in-depth acft so far for XPlane and has raised the bar significantly. My aim is to operate this acft without the aid of the AFE. But it seems a little pointless to go through the (excellent) included checklist if a number of items are not actually modelled. I refer to your Introduction doc.... Well its been over 6 months since xplane 11 was released and we have heard only the slightest murmor of if/when an update might occur. It took only weeks to get recoded 64bit 747's, 737's and 777's yet its been over 6 months to get no news on the xp11 update for the 6. So Pmdg do you have any news or information as to when or if its being updated? Flying her it in P3D just highlights the deficincies of P3D's flight modelling and the experience is SO much better in xplane that i can live with the graphical anomalies, overly reflective instruments, lack of PBR etc in preference to the P3D aero model. I can switch the white cockpit flood light on and off with the Shift-L FSX shortcut, but I can't find a corresponding light switch. There is a switch labelled "Cockpit flood light white", but it seems to do nothing. Any ideas how to switch this light from the virtual cockpit? Hello! I recently installed the newest update for the DC-6 and read the Changelog. I dont want to rant, I just wondered why there is still no fix for the absence of a touch down sound? I am no developer or programmer, but is this such a big task? Thank you very much!

Hello to all: I was, unfortunately, unable to convince the excellent painters of liveries for PMDG airplanes, to paint one for a Lloyd Aereo Boliviano DC-6, that used to fly between the many high altitude airports in Bolivia and South America in the late 60's and early 70's. So, what's a guy to do? Obviously, ask for help from his good friends Google and Youtube for tutorials on painting liveries! Is the DC-6 supposed to remember the fluid levels from flight to flight? I know it will if you continually save your scenario after each flight but there I have problems doing that sometimes. Since there's an interface to top off your fluids I always assumed that it would remember your levels since it would be pretty difficult to deplete all of your oil in one flight without breaking something. Also it would be amazing if you give us the ability to select a startup panel state <wink wink>

So I was just zooming around the cockpit from the captains view and noticed that the FO instrument textures goes all crazy when you zoom in on them at a certain level. Looks kind of like what an old TV set would display when nothing is broadcasting. This screenshot was taken in a fresh, vanilla P3Dv3 installation, latest nvidia drivers.
