  2. Hello PDMG! I'm loving this product beyond of what I could've imagined! well done!!! Quick question: I don't use an axis for throttle and I have my controller buttons assigned via P3D's own control settings to the increase/decrease (F3/F2). It works in all of the default aircraft (including your own 744/777), but not in the 6. Am I doing something wrong? Should I open a ticket? Just so you know: the default assignment via numeric keypad (9 and 3) for controlling throttle are not working either. Thanks!!! cheers -E

  4. Hello to all: For those of you, who have had gray/white hair for as long as I have, here are two DC-6B's that used to connect Miami with South America in the late 50's, before they were replaced by their respective DC-7C's. I remember having to put on a shirt and tie, just to go to the airport to pick up somebody!! Happy New Year to all!! Roberto

Hello I am having trouble with the DC6 not tracking the GPS flight plan. I am using FSCommander to make up the flight plan, and then importing it to the PMDG- GPS. It starts to track for the first turn or so then takes off from the plan after 5 mins or so. Whats am I doing wrong, just love this aircraft but not having luck on the GPS. Thank Wayne Bignell

Spent about 50 hours in the last couple of weeks flying this beautiful bird. I am suffering with some autopilot problems. This mostly occurs in turbulence (or should I say it is more accentuated). When I run the final checks (just before establishing) I get a huge pitch up sometimes up to 30 degrees. It seems to be worse when the aircraft is in a turn. I will do more checking, but it seems to be around the time the gear is dropped. At the time the aircraft is in altitude hold mode. Also, the Approach mode doesn't seem to work. It doesn't intercept the glide at all. Sometimes it does pitch down, but nowhere near enough to follow the glide. I don't min…

Hi there. Are you able to give us any information on the likelihood of an update for the DC6 for X-plane v11? It still hasn’t been broken by 11.30r1 but there are a few things that need work. It still flies beautifully but a few knobs and buttons don’t work. And it has to be loaded, plugin re-enabled, then moved to another location for the sounds to work. Plus some other minor issues. Regards, Craig.

Hi all, After a spell away from flying the DC6 I returned to it the other day and noticed something I hadn't noticed when the aircraft was first released for FSX. Whilst in flight, either with or without the AFE helping I noticed the fuel flow gauges on the panel weren't reading anything, for all four engines, just stuck at zero. Before I started writing this post I had a look on the web and found pictures other folks had posted of the DC6 panel, which also showed the same zero reading, although they weren't pictures about this issue. Can anyone help as to whether I am missing something or they don't work in FSX, which I don't imagine is the case at all.........…

It took me a while and it's not complete, but for those who want to use their VRinsight or Saitek panels in combination with Spad.next, I've created screenshots of the different DC6 panels on which all useable buttons, switches etc have there variable (LVar) in yellow numbers. The syntax is "DC6_###_OBJ(LVAR) for almost all the assignments you want to make. Just unzip this file (contents= 10 jpg's): https://www.dropbox.com/s/txgaqwc142kajr2/LVAR_DC-6.rar?dl=0 Have fun, Peter

  12. Are there any tricks to re-engaging the autopilot during flight if fo some reason, it becomes disengaged? I can move the servo lever but the autopilot switch seems inop. Could this is because the AC might not be in level and straight flight? Thanks, Jim Driskell

  14. Yesterday I flew Lisbon-Dakar, a good old classic route that KLM used to fly with the DC-6, 1500 miles, well within the range. I had trouble getting to the cruise speed I was expecting according to the manual. As a result, the trip took 8 hours instead of 6, I used a lot more fuel and I was running on fumes landing at Dakar. I have noticed this issue before, but last night was the first time I really logged what was happening. Here's the details: I flew most of the trip using the 1100 hp table on page 291. Cruising at 14,000 feet, 2190 RPM and 142 BMEP. The table says I should be getting 189 DIAS and 240 TAS even at the heaviest load with these settings, but I w…

  15. Howdy, I have noticed the CDI's GS is not active during a LPV approach using the Flight 1 GTN. The GS is not flagged, and the CDI mode is set to GPS. I've tried this on several approaches with no luck. I can get the GS to work on an ILS approach. However, the autopilot will not "follow" the GS on approach mode. I am using P3D V4, DC-6, Flight 1 GTN650, Windows 10.

Hi Guys, I'm looking for a shot of a DC6 from mid fuselage to the wingtip for a personal project. But high resolution. I can't find anything anywhere like it. Would any of you DC6'ers be kind enough to send me a screenshot in high resolution 2K+ like the attachment I have? I only need the right or left half of the aircraft looking straight down the nose. Thanks

Hi, is it possible that this beauty doesn't accept the separate commands for the couple of throttles in SUIPC? I mean, using the TM Hotas Warthog, as I'm used to do with four-propeller planes, I set the left command for Throttle 1&2, and the right one for Throttle 3&4. It didn't work, so in the end I set both the commands for the single throttle. Not so tragic, since the plane rotates well on the ground, but just for my personal knowledge. Thanks for any help & regards, Fulvio (P3D v4.4 and the last FSUIPC payware version)

Folks WIP of an Alitalia livery. 80% done, which means I have 80% of the time to go... Learning a new paint kit and PS at the same time, plus only my second livery, first with bare metal to contend with... A lot still to do and a lot to learn. Hopefully done by Xmas... The variation on this one won't take too long. Mike

Admit it, you thought this was an airborne photo, or a Wenonah advert, didn't you? Where else but in Orbx's PAKT can you stand by the taxiway, and watch this old girl belch and cough up the slope? Pair the DC-6 with Orbx and you're in for Nirvana... flight planing at below 10,000 you really get a chance to LOOK at all the scenery you have... who'd have thunk it? Luverley... Ok... here's what you were probably expecting... C

I've noticed that there is quite a large lag between the input and what is reflected in the VC and what actually happens. For instance, if I turn my steering tiller to max (using my joystick mapped to the tiller in FSUIPC), it takes about 4-5 seconds before the actual tiller in the Virtual Cockpit has turned to match my input, and it takes equally long for the actual aircraft to start turning. The same is noticeable with the other axis (eg. if I push right forward on the yoke, it takes a while for the yoke in the VC to catch up with the input). Thanks Neil

Hello guys! How are you? I need a little help with my purchase. I am willing to buy the DC-6 Cloudmaster, however, I have a few doubt/question. So it's not really a question, I want this, however I am not sure where this plane actually flying in real life? I mean, is it something from the past or it's still used by airlines? What I am planning to buy really is the DC-6 CM and the 737. I have already own 747 and the 747-800 extension. Regerding the 777, I am not sure. What kind of differences there are between the 747 and 777? Afaik, it's smaller, but it's a long plane. Please help 🙂 Back to the topic. Do you guys still often use DC-6? I am sure it's worth …

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but here is a playlist of videos I shot of Everts Air Cargo start and run procedures. I'm an A&P for them and they are training us to get our run/taxi card on the fleet. Hope this will be helpful to someone! Also hoping the DC-6 is being updated for X-plane 11 cause that is my sim of choice and really want to fly the planes I work on. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuxFKKayoB8E7QqlF7zuujFtEYwZq479H Joshua Loar
