hello folks, small issue which I'm struggling to resolve. I can connect no problem and P2ATC can hear me and vice versa but the aircraft is not showing on the map. Any ideas?.

I've done this several times now and it's worked well. I validate (GREEN) then press FILE and get the error Altitude Restriction Violation The Minimum Altitude at BEGEN is 5000 feet. You need to increase your cruise altitude or remove the procedure that contains this waypoint. BEGEN is part of the ILS approach to EDDM RW08R. 3. Looked through the commands, and searched as I could through this forum. I took off from Miami and the SID took me straight into some heavy weather. I could not find a command to temporarily change my course to avoid the weather, so I kept getting annoying messages to get me back on track. I printed out all the commands using the grammar option and didn't see anything but I may have missed the syntax. How do I do a temporary course change? Thanks!

  4. Started by Sidney Schwartz,

I just got an X-Plane add-on that simulates having a GA charter business, so I'm doing more VFR flying. I'm familiar with the use of ATC in VFR but am not sure how to set up P2A to do what I want... 1. Fly VFR from DEP to DES airports (no class B or C) without flight following. 2. Be able to communicate as required with grnd and twr, and with local traffic at untowered airports. Announce pattern dep. and pattern position on landing. Is this possible? If so, how? What are my options?

Another small suggestion, P2A doesn't accept the freeroute airspace in Europe. Flight from EDDL - LEMH should regarding the rules in FL330 (Southbound) but P2A correct the FL always to 340. A very nice feature would be to request a direct to with a right click on the waypoint in the list on the right side. 🙂 Cheers Frank

Hi. I understand Pilot2ATC locks to one computer, and that's fine. However, are there any limitations beyond that ; suppose I have XPlane and FSX on the same machine, can I switch between the two ? Or is it locked to one simulator ?

  7. Started by artox67,

Hi, I would kindly suggest a night mode because during a night flight with P2A on a second monitor beside the main one It's really bright and I would avoid turning down the monitor brightness. Best Artox

  8. Would it be possible for p2atc to retrieve a flightplan from simbrief ? Thanks

Hello, I'm having a problem in a flight, during cruise phase, in which I request a change from FL370 to FL390 and receive absolutely no answer, denying or aproving. Searching the corresponding .log file I found the following lines, showing that the program understood the request but some kind of exception was thrown in. Thanks for any light on the subject. Could you add a call to Ground: <Ground> <SB435> is holding short Rwy <> - as it is now if Ground doesn't hand me over to Tower I have to call: <Ground> <SB435> is ready for take off Rwy <>... which doesn't sound nice operationally. Thanks.

  14. I was on an IFR flight from KSBN to KORD. I filed the plan to the active runway 09L via the arrival ESSPO3.ESSPO and approach ILS09L.DOOGY. The ESSPO arrival had published altitudes at 10,000' so I had to set my cruise to that altitude. After peddling my heart out in the 172, I got to 10k about then minutes from the transition ESSPO. The controller told me to "Expect the ESSPO Arrival with the ESSPO Transition for the ILS 09L Approach to KORD." Cool! That's exactly as I expected. Then, to my surprise, the controller came back to say "Descend via the ESSPO Arrival to 4,000 feet." What?? There is no 4,000' altitude anywhere in the ESSPO3 Arrival (the first on…

  15. Started by Jengle,

I have Navigraph set to update Pilot2ATC, however fairly often Pilot2ATC autoplan uses old data. For example I'm currently landing at EGGW. Pilot2ATC has ILS approach RW08 with the LUT transition. However the current Navagraph information has RW07! How do I verify navigraph updates to Pilot2ATC? I no longer get the warning messages that Pilot2ATC plans (exported to X-Plane 11 format) are using the wrong nav data version, but about 1 in 4 plans have incorrect data. Thanks!

  16. Started by Jengle,

I've installed the X-ATC-Chatter Controllers folders for each of the regions into my install directory of Pilot2ATC_2018_x64 (C:\Pilot2ATC_2018_x64\Sounds\ATC_Chatter\Controllers). All region's chatter files are merged together. I think I hear ATC chatter, but the volume is so low I can barely hear it. All of the rest of the ATC commands in Pilot2ATC are have very good sound quality/volume. For ATC Chatter Options (Sounds tab in the Config screens): Sound Source: Controller Folders Root Folder: Blank Default Region: Europe (currently flying in Europe mostly - though it makes no difference. Pause between file playback checked; Minimu pause time …

  17. Hi Dave, First of all, your program is great and I really enjoy it. Thank you for all the hard work. I have the following problem. When I start P2A, everything is fine. The sounds from the airplane, the ATC communication, the chatter volume are all in good balance. Also the microphone works well and I can easily communicate with ATC. Then suddenly, after a few minutes, the volume for ATC and chatter drops to a rather low level. This is although in Windows volume mixer and Windows sound settings everything (output and input (i.e. mic)) looks the same as before. Also, now, my microphone input is almost never understood by ATC, mostly ignored. When I hit …

  18. Started by Jengle,

Newbie question here. I've downloaded some simplistic Pilot2ATC phrase lists, and watch several videos and purchased a RL ATC guide. If I Validate and File a flight plan (flight plan panel) do I need to Request ATC to Open a flight plan? Seems like filing the flight plan in the flight plan panel then going to the Clearance -> 'Ready to Copy IFR Clearance works to start? Anyone recommend a more detailed listing of Pilot2ATC phrases in a typical IFR (and VFR) listing? Thanks! Used Pilot2ATC for a week, and took the plunge and purchased the product after trying a couple of live ATC tools. Looks like a great product with good support.

  19. Started by JPR,

Hello Dave 🙂 I changed my computer (more powerful + Windows 10 Professional) and I reinstalled the latest full version of Pilot2ATC (v2.6.1.2). Everything works fine except the popup window for the stand by frequency (COM 1 or COM 2): this popup window doesn't appear if I click on the STBY COM frequency. In the Windows 10 taskbar, I can see that there is a window associated with Pilot2ATC (so the STBY COM popup window), but this thumbnail shows that there is no text or value in this thumbnail window (see attached screenshots). I can close this ghost popup window only from the Windows taskbar. Usually I don't use this popup window to change COM frequencies (I d…

Hello Dave 🙂 I'm changing my computer to a more powerful one. I have Pilot2ATC on my old computer (Pilot2ATC purchased in January 2018) I have installed Pilot2ATC on my new computer, but my license can't work. How do I transfer my license to my new computer ? Note: Pilot2ATC will no longer be used on my old computer.

  21. My home airport is RPLL(Ninoy Aquino International Airport) in the Philippines Upon airborne 5nm away from the airport, ATC should hand me off to Departure(119.90) but this does not happen. What I expect to happen is "Contact departure on 119.90" and co-pilot replies and automatically switches to departure and makes an initial call. I have the use the co-pilot options checked(responds to radios and changes frequencies) Take note that this only happens at this specific airport. In all other airports I do not encounter this problem, ATC hands me off to departure. My workaround for this is I manually tune to Departure(119.90) when I am 5nm away from …

  22. Started by flytriman,

Hi Dave, My Chatter volume is way to loud and if I go to the Windows Mixer Volume and turn it down (I have it at 4 to get it reasonable) then my ATC communications are to soft (with all of their volumes set to 100%). I also tried using the Volume controls on the P2A COM Frequency pop-up window but they seem to have no affect. I have all my chatter and ATC communications coming through my headset, with all other P3D v4.5 sounds playing through my SoundBlaster speakers. Also wondering if there was a way to have the P2ATC ATIS also play through my headset...it now comes through the system speakers. Thanks for the help. Garry

  23. Feature request: I love the feature of co-pilot helping me with radio response. However, I would like to start transitioning where I will start responding to some of the radio calls and eventually all. It will be great if I can toggle "co-pilot radio response" through a key bind so I can more easily toggle this during flight (without needing to alt-tab and open the config option).

  24. Hi, sry if this has been answered befor but I could find an answer to this specific problem. I recently got back to P2A and thought it was time to update the ARTCC data. So I got fsAerodata, followed the steps with bgl2xml and got it updated in P2A. Then I did a flight from LOWW to EDDF. As far as I know after departure I should have got handed over to Vienna then Rhein Radar and in the end Langen Radar for the approach. But what I got was Vienna, Prague, Bremen Radar and then Langen Radar. From what I can see, the German Airspace data is a real mess compared to all the countrys around it but I do fly a lot there so it is a little bit of an immersion breaker. …
