Hi: I'm Mason Bolton. I'm a new user to P2A and I really love it - but more for the information it offers all in one place - as opposed to the ATC. I regard the ATC as a nice "freebie." Why? Because the environment is not immersive. It COULD be with only a few simple changes. Suppose for example when a controller went off to find your flight plan, the controller offered... "Please Stand By..." ...and after a short (random) delay, they came back to clear you. OR... With a simple change to the program that added a random delay before response to each voice (character) in the "Voices" tab, the tower would suddenly seem to be full o…

Hello, Just thought I'd introduce my self to this forum , and yes Cat really is my last name. I have been playing flight sims on and off for many years however I stopped after fsx just cause I really was disappointment in the graphics and I didnt find it all that enjoyable or realistic. I recently have gotten MSFS 2020 and am really enjoying it . I think its the flight simulator that fsx should have been and the one many of us have been waiting for for years. My favorite plane so far is the Cessna Caravan. I like naps . Like my profile says I am from Southern California and I feel fortunate that for the most part MSFS spent some time on making it look good and …

Greetings all, Although I've been a member of AVSIM since 2002, I've been away for over a decade. I still can't believe it's been that long. So, I thought I'd start here and say hello as I'm sure a lot has changed, not just the forum software. I was thinking about all my old hardware the other day that used analog joystick ports, the PS/2 keyboard connector, and serial ports to interface with FU2, FU3, FS9 and FS X, and boy did I feel outdated. It's a good time to be back in the simming world, though, with FS2020 especially for bush flying. The virtual world is so much more conducive to flying low and slow, now. Since it's been so long, I'm not sure how man…

Warm greetings everyone from Germany! As work is to a minimum right now and flights assigned to me are sparse I felt like making the best out of it and do what I love doing the most. I'm new to this forum so warm virtual hugs/greetings to you guys! Currently I'm simming using MS2020. How about you? 🙂 Best regards

Hello Everyone! 🙂 I am new to avsim and this is my first question over here... In the FSX default Airbus a321 VIRTUAL COCKPIT(and Project Airbus a320 as well), outside scenery graphics are very poor, e.g., Runway textures and markings are hardly visible. I am attaching a screenshot also. But when I switch to the 2-D Cockpit, everything is ok and perfectly visible, and again becomes worse back in the 3d VC. If this is a 'Low setting' issue, then I must tell you, that in Boeing 737 VC outside scenery is charm. There is no such loss of Runway textures and Taxiway lines' quality. I hope I made my point, screenshots will definitely clear my point. …

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a blessed day as you read this. My name is Steve and I'm a good ole Florida boy that moved back to KTPA from KBWI as fast as I could many moons ago. I'm looking forward to learning from all of the experts here on the forums and hopefully participate in a few community fly events. The community that Tom Allensworth built here is incredible and I'm happy to finally go from a lurker to a member, you might even catch me respond to a topic one day if I don't feel so vastly unknowledgeable compared to others here! See ya in the skies, or over on my Youtube Channel!

I'm hoping to soon start work on my local airport and eventually my home town in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. I've been waiting for some decent Howto videos on the topic, and they are slowly starting to appear on YouTube, but I know I'll have questions once I dive in. I've done plenty of scenery and mod work in the past, so I understand the basics, just not the specifics when it comes to MSFS 2020. What specific forum should I use to post these questions?

Hello fellow members. Been having sign-up errors with MSFS forum so was looking around for an alternate and ran into you guys. This looks like a great forum with lots of information so glad to join up. I've been a fs sim'r for years and recently took the plunge on fs 2020. After spending couple days setting things up and tweaking my PC for max performance I have managed some take-off and landings. Just recently however I been getting these very odd gray and green mesh balls. Doesn't matter what airport. Some are very large and interferes with visual. I've tried supper low detail and super high - nothing changes. Anyone else have similar issue? Sorry if pos…

Hello all, Been a member since 2014 but never posted before now we have a new flight sim that looks on course to becoming the best ever once the bugs are sorted out of course thought it was time to get more involved. Even though I am only running MSFS on a budget build it has been running really well even more so now update 2 has come out minus a couple of CTD's. I've been flight simming since FS95 actually back then the computer I had was only used for FS95 and EF2000 even though it was suppose to be used for other things when my parents brought it for me I don't know about you, but I have always found that the MS Flight sim series is probably …

Just downloaded and started exploring MS FS 2020. I think that I've had a play with almost every version of the MS sim since #2 I used to fly quite a bit IRL before time, money and life got in the way. I've flown a few different things in my time but my favourite I think was the Super Decathlon which I enjoyed getting upside down as much as possible. A few years ago two friends and myself flew a Cessna 172 RG around Australia, that was fun. I was pleased to see the new sim has a couple of aerobatic planes in there including a Cessna 150 Aerobat, the very first plane I ever did some aeros in. One day I may recreate our trip around Oz in the 172 in the sim.…

Hi there ik want to introduce myself to this forum as Sepp796 My name is Sebastiaan and i fly around in flightsims since fs 5.0. Never online and never real active on forums, but with some user experience of wideview and Fsuipc Got hooked and stuck on fs9, scraping together some left overs on scraps and monitors and some uprade in graphics cards. And the struggle continues! Lol. To build some homemade cockpit as cheap as positie for me. i fly projecting with a beamer 2.20 cm widescreen made out of cardboard, and a couple of screens for the instuments. But for msfs it goes slightly different. I has 3d cockpit and it looks real nice but, concearning…

What are these little dots under our user name? I'm guessing it's some sort of "rank", but what is it based on - number of posts, years of membership, number of likes received, something else? Also, does an increase in "rank" give an increase in privileges? I notice some posts get "up-voted", but I don't have that option myself. I'm guessing this is a privilege that's unlocked later on. I'm not complaining, just curious. Thanks!

Hi Everyone. I started in 1979 when I purchased a Home-built airplane . It was a Davis DA-2A SN #51 registration N72RJ. I flew it for 10 years between 1979-1989 and put about 2150 Hours on it before selling it to a chap from the UK at EAA here in Oshkosh, WI.. It is still flying under the registration G-BPFLG in the UK. I used an Apple II for flight plans and the first FS. I am almost 68 now so decided to get into sim again after seeing MSFS 2020. It is because of this group that I am on the way to getting the hardware for my build. I already have ordered the Honeycomb Bravo throttle and am on preorder for the Fulcrum yoke. Edward

Hi all, Jack here, from Northeast Florida. I've had my PPL for a while, but just getting back into things after an 8-year break, and also just got done building out a home cockpit setup and box for fs2020. I'm really looking forward to using my home setup as a training/practice tool, and wondering about some details of using sims to that end. I'll start poking around the site here looking for maybe some FAQs and existing discussion on topics of interest (currently trying to figure out how to best utilize ATC and GPS stuff in FS2020), but thought I'd pop in here and say hi first.

Hi all, Havnt played flight simulator since a teenager, joined the army and have just left after 12 years, looking to get back into it with FS2020 now I have more time on my hands! I don’t have a great budget and was looking towards gumtree etc for a gaming pc, Ive came across someone selling one for £700. I would appreciate your thoughts on wether or not this would be ok and would type of settings I’d be able to expect to play with if possible! Hello everybody. I'm one of the million+ who bought the new Flight Simulator. I've been flight simming on and off since the late 80s (Sublogic FS 2.0 on a Commodore 64). Very pleased with the new version and slowly relearning to fly using it and FSX Steam (dusted it off after a few years). Used to be a member of this site at one time too and finally found my way back in. Been lurking in the MSFS 2020 forum and found a lot of useful info so far. Looking forward to contributing in the future.

Finally i landet here, but i dont know how it works :D in real life i have a piloting licence for paramotoring and paragliding, since 2007 :) in the MSFS i like to cruise around with the Extra 300 and the Savage Cup, hopefully they will implement some gliders or Paragliding in the future! ;) Right at the moment i´m flying with the keyboard :D it´s ok, but not precise. I can fly with it! I have a microphone and heaphones :D but never used in a Sim just to produce music i music by the way :) don´t know if it is allowed to implement links here. Cheers RIKAAR Ambnt

Hi everyone. I'm now a week in to MSFS 2020 and have had great fun hooning a Cessna round the sky but I've signed up here as I want to start getting into the more technical aspects such as autopilot, navigation and eventually to fly jets!!. I fly radio controlled model aircraft and the basic handling is identical but who new about the amount of trimming required!! With a model, you take of on its maiden, climb to a safe height, trim for straight and level and that's it, you never touch the trims again!! I've been watching some great tutorial YouTube videos (Squirrel) and I'm gaining confidence and knowledge as I go. Ian

Hey All, After several years of inactivity, I am preparing too return to flight swimming. When I saw the release of MSFS 2020 I knew I had to get back in to it. I haven't upgraded my system yet as I am currently using PC's and MacBooks for work. My plan is to run it at High End to Ultra settings and my budget is $2000-$3500. Are there prebuilt rigs out there or should I go custom. I've seen a few videos and have also looked into Origin PCs. Any suggestions and recommendations would be great. CDR Shark
