Good day! I'm Nick, a 27 years old virtual, and hopefully soon actual pilot from Germany. I fell in love with flying in the FS:X days and have always had a passion for aviation since. I'm proud to say that I'm also currently working towards my PPL in real life. Being able to fly in both the virtual and real world has been an incredible experience and I'm looking forward to discussing and learning more about aviation with fellow members on this forum. Thanks for having me!

Hello, since it actually belongs to the good tone of this fine website and forums I hereby declare myself. 😉 My real name is Stephan, I got somewhat old lately, about 47ish this year and I live currently in Stuttgart/Germany. I consider myself a pure "hobby sim pilot" although MSFS 2020 is sucking me deeper and deeper into it every day, especially since I got my first VR Headset (PICO 4) and did something I never thought I would actually do: buying a yoke (Turtle Beach VelocityOne). This combined with my pc rig (11700k, 32GB, RTX3090) results in an experience now that is very hard to resist for me (and I know that this is just a kind of an "advanced basic set", …

Hello, I've just joined so here's my first post. I have a PPL but unfotunately it's lapsed, for now at least. I'm a volunteer director of the Daedalus Aviation & Heritage Group. My home airfield, Solent Airport, was added to MS Flight Sim last month. It's been an active airfield since 1917 and was the busiest airfield in the UK on June 6th 1944. You can find out more about the DA&HG at https://www.daedalusaviation.org/ I have a personal blog in which I write about aviation, including flight sims: So, that's all from me for now 🙂

Hello everyone, My name is Yasha, I am the head of IT of French national Air & Space Museum. I was there many years ago as I am a big fan of aviation simulation. I registered back as we plan to create a room for school student to be able to fly together and learn the basic of it. It is an internal project as you guess, we don't have that much ressource to waste. Hope to talk to all of you soon !

This was a message intended for Steve Dre but unfortunately I wasn't able to reach him. Please feel free to help if you can. ----- @Steve Dra Hi Steve, I'm Mo. I recently downloaded the CS 767-300ER for MSFS 2020. I need a FedEx livery for this aircraft. Of course since CS did not release a freighter version for MSFS, the available liveries are all for passenger carrying airlines. The thing is, I don't care if it is not the freighter as long as it has the FedEx branding. So I was wondering if you can create a custom FedEx livery for me? I'm looking for something simple, white plane, FedEx logo on both side towards the front on the plane, tail …

Hello, I recently bought my brother-in-law's oldish gaming computer and got the bug again. So I bought MSFS 2020 and a couple of days later FSX-SE for a couple of bucks, as I have a couple of old books on how to learn flying on FSX, which I loved back in the day and would like to learn again using them. I'd like to try the free FlightGear too and maybe buy X-Plane 12 one day. Question is: those who use more than one simulator, don't you get confused? I already have problems remembering where are the flaps and trim on my controller in FS2020 vs. FSX. Do you set identical controls in all your simulators? Or should I focus on one simulator at a time (…

Hello! Another returning simmer here - I started in the 8-bit days and went up through the various MS offerings as well as others like Falcon 4.0. Last active in FSX/P3D and now crawling up the MSFS learning curve after several years off. Generally a penchant for flying anything muddy with big tundras, but recent developments in MSFS are encouraging me to try glass & glamour!

Hi Everyone, I hope all is well! I had been flying flight sims since the early 90's. I stopped in about 2018 when my gaming PC just became too old and life got in the way. I am back! I got a new PC and have been flying in DCS World but really miss the beauty of a great looking sim (DCS world is fine for shooting things and don't get me wrong it looks ok). I have a new PC, it seems very good so far. - INTEL CORE PROCESSOR I9-13900K 8P/16 + 16E 3.00GH - GSKILL 32GB DDR5-5600MHZ RIPJAWS S5 MEMORY - ASUS PRIME Z790-P WIFI D5 DDR5 ATX W/ WI-FI 2.5GBT LA N 4 PCIE X16 1 PCIE X1 3 M.2 4 SATA LGA1700 CEC - NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4090 24GB GDDR6X VIDEO …

Good evening everyone, I'm a longtime virtual pilot, since the days of the Commodore Amiga. Over the years the most popular simulators have been Falcon 3/4, EF2000, Flight Simulator. Today I fly with DCS World and MS Flight Simulator. I live in Italy and I greet all the passionate friends of the forum.

I tried reinstalling FSX in my Win7(64 bit) system. And got the error 1722 and 1603. I searched the internet for answers and got one fix from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/928080/error-1722-when-reinstalling-flight-simulator-x?spid=11941 and then followed the procedures but when I get to the part where I type "resetsldl -All" and press Enter I get yet another error, which says "error-HRESULT80070005". Anybody know a solution for this problem? I am thinking of reinstalling my OS, but i want to try any other solution before that. So any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I got this working about a year ago but left it alone for a while. I do have a valid license and I can see where it is in my directory structure. I reinstalled the software. However, when I start up X Plane 11, I get a window that is fairly static and the bottom says "RXP INVALID LICENSE CONTACT VENTOR". The window does not respond to anything. So, I am wondering how to re-setup my system. Thank You Tom Cipollone

Call me Windy, I soloed in the early 1960s commercial and multi-CFI-I ATP AGI-I. I was a flight engineer in 727s in the late 1960s when family emergencies sent me home to New England. I did flight instructions with the pre-flight and post-flight instructions out of the boot of my car with the flights in people's own or club aircraft. I continued with that while doing the part135 ME single pilot autopilot until I lost my 2ed class medical in 82, and other than providing free safety pilot and brush up flights for old friends (they could not log it as I had not even a 3rd class). I stopped flying entirely in 85, even as safety in light aircraft. Other healt…

Hello everyone, I have been reading you for a long time and always with great interest. I used fsx for over 10 years, then in April 2022 my pc broke and unfortunately I haven't flown for months. Today I finally signed up to buy the new pc that arrives before Christmas, so I can finally go back to flying but on msfs 2020, and hopefully this time on asvim online, hoping I can figure out how to do it... Happy Holidays!! Stefano from Italy

Hello everyone I'm new here. After years of using Boeing(NGX) I've decided to switch for Airbus. My favorite one is FSL A320X. As for now it's not available for MSFS 2020. Anything looming about, please ?

Hey avsim community, I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving weekend. I will try to keep this as short as possible. I also know that this might not be the ideal spot for this thread, but I am trying to cover a wider array of topics here after having read through various other threads. Long story short, I am currently in the process of making a comeback to flight simulation. I got into flight simulation around 2012, and for about five years I would say I was very involved, flying pretty much every day on IVAO on a virtual airline, constantly looking for mods, updates and software to make my FSX more immersive, until, well, life happened. In the process of moving from Ger…

Hi all, Tyler here (aka Gizmo in sim) have dabbled with previous flight sims but have been flying pretty regularly in 2020 for about a year. I like to run Skypark missions, and do some VA flying. Mostly lately I have been exploring corners of the world in various bush planes. I saw a group of AV sim folks on littlenavmap and that's how I got here.

Does MSFS delete old files and clean up after updating? I have a 250GB drive dedicated to MSFS only and it is getting uncomfortably full. When I bought it I thought that 250GB would be ample capacity, but it now looks like I may have to scrap it and install a bigger drive. Currently it is reporting 68GB free and recent updates appear to be filling it more rapidly.
