Hi all, I've been using Flight Sims on and off for several years, started with FS98. Recently I really got into this hobby again and I want to hone my skills. Joined VATSIM a few weeks ago and I'm preparing for my first flight. Recently I'm learning the Cessna 172 with Garmin G1000 and the Cirrus SF50 (stock planes) in XPlane 12 and MSFS. I'm loving it so far, thought I might start a little bit smaller and really try to understand what I'm doing (controls, procedures etc.) before I get myself into VATSIM. Hi all, I am trying to figure out a way to bind the headset cursor (the one that follows head movement in VR - also called a laser mouse, from what I've read) to a button on the stick or to a mouse click. Is there a way to do this? Do I need an add-on? I'm using an HTC VIVE Headset and running P3D V4, if that makes a difference. I've been looking for an answer for a while, no no avail. Hoping someone in the AVSIM community has more knowledge on the subject.

Hi everyone, I started flying in February of this year. I'm 45 years old and began this new journey with flight simulation, after more than 20 years in the sim racing world. I fell in love with aviation and started with some basic PPL courses (virtual), flying only VFR. Now I've thrown myself into IFR with the goal of flying airliners. I also am interested in learning more about aviation. I am a long time PC enthusiast and sim gamer. I recently had an itch to play Elite Dangerous which I bought years ago but hated keyboard/mouse controls for so never played. I decided to pick up a cheap HOTAS setup to play it. I bought myself the Saitek X-52 Pro which I know has its issues but VKB are having shipping delays currently so I figured I'd grab the Saitek and upgrade later. Anyway I figured since I'd have a HOTAS I'd also give Microsoft Flight Simulator a go, you know, just to fly over my house and see the photogrammetry at work... Hi. My name is Mike and I'm a temporarily retired expat in Thailand. I have some time on my hands recently and figured I would engage in some bucket listery and do some real sim flying. My budget is a combination of "as cheap as possible" and " best bang for my buck." HOTAS and rudder pedals were a must. Bought those off FB marketplace today. Very slim selection of rudder pedals so the "bang/buck" quotient was filled by a quality pair of racing pedals. Hello everyone, I Have not used flight sim for years and years, i cant believe how its changed. bought a brand new pc and monitor and it's just unreal. i have autism and find it hard for things to sink in my brain and understand them sometimes. iv'e bought the euro fighter, osprey, f 35. and the gripen .and a couple of other commercial jets. The graphics are all running on ultra and its mind blowing !! i do have a issue with a aircraft i purchased and can't install it and i will try and find the right place to find the answer from the pro's !! regards Mark.

Hi, all! I'm back after a 20 year hiatus with a new $1,099 Costco PC and MSFS 2020. My new Thrustmaster HOTAS should be delivered any day now. Having fun now practicing landings with my old MS Sidewinder stick to help me graduate to more challenging flying. Where can I find specifics of the various aircraft, such as power settings for climb, cruise and descent?

Just came across this site and decided to join up. Downloaded some new planes for Microsoft Flight Sim from the library here. I'm a little new as a flight enthusiast (gamer) & finding my bearings one day at a time. I've got a logitech t.16000 hotas setup as well as Saitek Pro Flight Yoke with throttle and peddles, Saitek x52, and well VR is in part what got me more into flight sims and my current headset is an Oculus Quest 3. Picked up MSFS on release and invested in some gear (Yoko yoke, new computer), but alas, life got busy and kinda forgot about it. Fast forward to today, and I saw my yoke and flight sim gear collecting dust in the basement. Hi all. Thanks for letting me in. Been flight simming since FS98 and have picked up all of the MS products since, along with X-Plane 10 and 11. Now that the kids have moved on, the house has been re-arranged(!) and we're finally slowing down a bit in life, I've started concentrating on my flying again. Mostly fly the GA flavor but have been known to hop in a Leer and / or helicopter once in a while. I just prefer the slow and steady, sit back and enjoy the scenery type of flying. Hey all. So I just wanted to say hi. I have been into msgs since the beginning but always just casually. I’m retired now and went with a RealSimGear Modular G1000 setup with all the frills. I’m in the process of assembling everything this week. I’m excited to jump back into it. I am a Private Pilot, with Instrument Airplane rating. I got that back in 1990 Due to health issues, I’m grounded though. i’m hoping this helps with the sadness of that reality. See you in the skys.
