Well, they froze my account since my last post....15 years ago, but I am now back. Geez, I remember when AVSIM started. back in the days for AOL's Flight Sim Resource Center, The VA News Flash with Gary Kulash....and all the CRAZY Virtual Airlines. And yes, my own Air Fresno is back kicking 27 years after its own start. This new (to me anyway) MSFS 2020, amazing stuff, eh? "I can see my house from here"....that's the first thing I did. But the people seem different to me. Back then we did a lot for each other, I must have painted dozens of planes for free for other VA's. It cost me to have my own done for Air Fresno's revival, just don't have the painting chops anymore. B…

I don’t usually write posts like this, but I wanted to share something that genuinely impressed me. A few weeks ago, I was debating whether to invest in the new WINWING MCDU. Like many of us, I’ve grown skeptical over the years—great-looking renders, long wait times, sometimes unclear communication. But I took the plunge. And that’s when things got interesting. After placing my order, I had a couple of questions about compatibility and shipping. Out of curiosity, I messaged their Instagram account (@winwing_sim)—not really expecting much. To my surprise, I got a reply within minutes, and not just a canned message. A real human being answered my que…

Just a quick hello to say that I have loved all things flight related since a child. Did many hundreds of hours in the air with Paragliding in SA, UK, Spain and Portugal. I am 50 years young now so keeping it to the simulation in MSFS 2020 flying helicopters. Hope everyone is as excited as I am to stay airborne. Cheers Winston

Hello everyone, I'm looking for support and possibly paid consulting to help me set up and configure my external Logitech panels (Radio Panel, Multi Panel, and Switch Panel) with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, using SPAD.neXt. My current setup includes: Logitech Flight Yoke System Radio Panel Multi Panel Switch Panel SPAD.neXt (latest version) Aircraft: primarily flying the Cessna 172 (G1000 and Steam Gauge versions) Although I’ve attempted to configure SPAD.neXt several times, I haven’t been successful so far. I would really appreciate help with: Setting up…

My first sim was FS98 and then later on FS2000. Since then, never really had a home sim until 2021. Mainly due to the lack of a suitable PC as I was never into gaming - that, despite being a software developer 🙂. I mainly fly Airliners - the Fenix 320 family, iFly 737 Max 8, PMDG 738NG and 777-300ER. Recently got the Avro RJ Professional, which is supposed to fill the Boeing void in MSFS2024. And it's more fun than I thought it would be. Just rebuilt my PC and I'm hesitant redownloading MSFS2020 with more than 300GB. Been a lot on AVSIM, but it's just now I finally managed to actually create an account 🙂.

My son and I built a beast of a computer recently and have MSFS 2000. Before I upgrade to 2024, I have a few basic (lol) questions. The MSFS tutorials are a joke; why spend so much money on flight avionics and not have better tutorials? oh well. My old Janes flight manuals (came with the sim) were over 100 pages thick. With the Cessna 152 (which we want to master before jumping into digital), we can easily fly from New Haven to JFK. What we don't like is it has a glide path which is kinda cheating. How can I turn this off, and if I do, how can we get vectors from the control tower to line us up on the correct runway? Also looking for navig…

Hello everyone, New to the forum, let me introduce myself. I retired from aviation as a technical controller for the French airline UTA, which unfortunately no longer exists, then Air France. I'm joining the forum looking for help with simulation and, if possible, to contribute my knowledge. Good luck to all. Thanks to Avsim for everything. You'll have to excuse my English, thank you. D. Hi All, It's been almost ten years since I was involved with the Flight Sim community - and I have the urge to get back into it 😀 Now in Spain, my previous experience was with FS2000, FS9 and FSX while living in Singapore - but even after just a couple of days at it, my brain is remembering things which I thought had been long forgotten, although it wasn't a great surprise that I could still do a successful circuit in the default C-172 😀 Most of my simming has been done in and around my native Scotland, and I still have most of the files necessary to make that a viable continutation even with my present computer - which wasn't selected as being suitable for simm…

Hey everyone, I’m new here and excited to join the discussion! I’ve been deeply involved in aviation and mechanical design for years, and I’m currently developing a high-fidelity Bell 407 replica pedal set for flight simulators. My focus is on making them as realistic as possible. One thing I’m trying to confirm is the actual pedal travel distance in a real Bell 407. Based on my CAD work, I’m seeing about 6 inches of total movement, but I’ve come across sources suggesting up to 12 inches, which doesn’t seem to match my design. Does anyone have first-hand experience with Bell 407 pedals? Or better yet, any drawings or measurements that could clarify this? …

Howdy folks! Been flight simming for close about 20 years now. Huge fan of MSFS. I spend most of my time flying Airbus. However in the past I've spent many many countless hours flying general aviation. Maybe one day I'll go back to that but for now I appreciate the complexity of flying airliners and trying to emulate SOPs.

Unlike so many on here going through the discussions, I'm not a pilot never was. And probably never will be. I'll definitely be one in my next life😉. I'm definitely a guy obsessed with anything Aviation related. Work in that industry for years and requested a transfer to where I'm currently. I'm an Addict to MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020 loving every moment spending on those two games. So, Thank you for the privilege to be party of this Forum. Christy Kröhne

new to flight sim and xplane. wanted to practice IFR, and bought software from Reality XP. Although the company points you to Avsim for support, there does not seem to be any actual support here or on their website. Has anyone had any luck getting support for the RXP products, and how? Their does not seem to be any presence there.

Howdy, fellow plane sim folks!!! I just recently decided that I wanted to get into the hobby of flight simming being that I'm mildly disabled (Cerebral Palsy & Hydrocephalus; Arthritis; T2 Diabetes; ) and I'm not able to get out and play music for a living like I did for nearly twenty years with a local band by the name of "Irons In The Fire" and I got to realize a major dream while I was in the band when we were asked to open two shows for the legendary Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives in Hiawassee, GA on July 17, 2008. I've been a big fan/enthusiast of helicopters (Bell 222 A/B) and jets (any of them) since I was a little kid and actually want…

I am a member of the aviation museum at Ashburton NZ where we have a project to build a fully operational, modernised, version of the famous Link Trainer, we do have original Link Trainers but these are not operating and we want something that visitors can experience without incurring wear and tear on 80 year old exhibits. Our new machine is similar size and appearance to the originals but it is all electromechanical, servos, steppers etc. The internal display is a VDU. We have movement in heading (360 degrees), pitch and roll.

Hello, quick intro. Been simming since 2020 (during covid!). British but based in Munich, Germany. Currently utilising my sons XBOX game pass account to try MSFS 2024 standard, not sure yet if to full transfer to it. I thinks its lacks Airport scenary but I'm sure that will come as 3rd party developers get up to speed. Fly mainly on VATSIM using the FENIX 320 between EGCC and EDDM my to home airports, bit sad really and I know I need to try a bit of variety! All the best, mikedeltahotel.

Hi Guys, I've been a purely amateur AVsimmer in the past (1995-2005). I used a SpaceOrb 360 6DOF controller and was very happy playing Digital Image Design's F22 Air Dominance Fighter, Looking Glass's Flight Unlimited 3 and Razorworks' Apache vs Havoc and Comanche vs Hokum. Unfortunately the SpaceOrb 360 was a serial device so it hasn't been supported since about Windows XP time. Fast forward to 2024 and I stumbled across some guy on the internet who also loved the SpaceOrb, couldn't bear to part with it when he threw out old computer stuff (just like me!), and eventually got a team together to make some hardware converting the serial input to a USB output wit…

Hello, I'm a noob here, messed around with FSX back in the day, but didn't play any flight sims for a long time, I thought MSFS 2024 release will be a great time to change this 🤞
