Hi Everyone. Just a newbie to flight sims having seen the coming launch of MS 2020 i really want to learn to fly and navigate properly. Hi everyone, Recently purchased hardware to finally get to start my long time dream of playing Flight Simulator. While I am fascinated with aviation in general, unfortunately, I do not know how to fly planes. Would you have recommendations for me as to how to learn to fly, and all the other necessary basics to try to make Flight Sim as real as possible? Are there people who give flying lessons online? Any YouTube vloggers to follow? Looking forward to learning more about this hobby through you guys.

Hi group, I just pulled the trigger on FS2020. Looking forward to it, especially once VR comes out. (I have an HP Reverb G2 pre-ordered). I mostly fly DCS and IL-2 BoX with my Rift S. But I'm willing to dust off my TrackIR to fly FS2020. Looks gorgeous... I'll be chatting on the forums soon. -TIA, -Jav

Hi fellow pilots, My name is Carsten, I'm a DIY'er at heart and I like to build things. I've been away from flight sims the past eight or nine years. My last sim was X-plane 10 on a 2009 iMac and at the time my wife and our daughter where still in our old apartment. I used to have a Saitek Yoke and I built a small cockpit from wood to put on my desk around the yoke. In 2010 we had a boy and spare time was limited so I didn't use the cockpit much after that. I can't remember if I sold the yoke or it broke but I ended up ditching the cockpit altogether. Anyway fast forward to today. We now have a house which is from 1974 so it needs some attention, our children ar…

Hi all, I'm coming back to simming after about 14 years off ! I've just bought a Cessna 340 forward fuselage to use as my new sim. I used to own a fully converted Beechcraft Queenair that had a full panel of Simkits instruments and my own modified elite avionics stack as well as all the original controls interfaced and a Projector for the external view. Then I had a Fokker F27 and an AV8B, but somehow I lost interest. Now I'm playing catch up on all the changes in tech etc in all those years. Dean

Hi. I have tried to make a signature and what my equipment are. In edit profile I have tried both Profile Field and About Me, but can't it visible on my forum writings. Many of the older members here have information in the bottom of the writings about which simulator an computer they are using. Stuff like that. Regards Paal Ronningen

New member here from the UK, good to meat you all. I've been involved in flight sims ever since they've been available in any home format (Yep, I'm getting on a bit!). But for some reason I've not been involved in this Forum. Weird. I was involved in scenery design and A/C repaints for FS2004 and FSX, so am pretty ok with under the hud stuff. I rebuilt the PC about 6 months ago and have continued to re-install all my usual FSX addons. Hope to be on regularly. Rick.

Hi I’m new to gaming and would like to purchase a pc or laptop. I’m finding it very confusing and hard to find what I’m looking for and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I was looking at a desktop with the gtx 1080 graphics card but noticed they are very expensive. Does anyone know of any laptops or desktops with a good graphics card for someone starting out on a budget. Or any good equivalents, That would be able to play flight sim 2020 or xplane 11. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm new here, and I'm new to flight simulators. I've had my eye on flight sims for years but never taken the plunge. I've pre-ordered Flight Simulator 2020 and can't wait to start my journey. Obviously I'll be starting off with no experience, so it's good to see the new version caters to beginners. I'll of course be looking out here for plenty of tips.

So I bought a tri pacer today, installed it. And took it for a test flight in locked view. I wanted to see it in the cockpit but it won’t let me. If I hover the mouse in the right spot it will tell me what instrument I’m blindly hovering a cursor over. Does anyone have an idea to what causes it? My pc isn’t the best, but I guess I shouldn’t expect high quality gameplay with a slow dell laptop.

Hey Guys, i'm currently facing a problem with my Digital Design Scenery such as Salzburg LOWS and now Leipzig-Halle EDDP. I noticed this first on LOWS but since I didn't fly much around there, I kept it in the Background. But now as I recently bought Digital Design Leipzig-Halle I wanna get rid of this issue. I got the problem that I don't have Lights on neither Taxiway nor Runways, which is weird because PAPI lights, Hangar lights and other lights appear to be okay tho. But there is no centerline or boundary lightning. Reinstalling didn't help so I think something got blocked in the files but I don't know much about it so I wanted to point …

Hello everyone, I am new here so I thought about posting here instead of another section, please move the thread if you reckon it's in the wrong place. I have a PC that runs 24/7 as my home automation server, CCTV and other stuff. But, this is also what I use for X-Plane 11. My current setup is: Intel i5 7600K, 32GB RAM, GTX 1060 6TB, main SSD drive + HDD general storage. My question is, should I decide to spend something on a newer graphics card, would it be worth it? I am talking about a couple of hundred pounds (let's say around $250 I guess) on top of the resale value of the GTX 1060 (another £100 maybe). Would it be worth it or is it just wasted money …

I am am a former USAF/retired airline pilot and Adjunct Professor at a local college in Ohio. I am trying to developing a college level class, teaching students that have a multi engine instrument rating, advanced IFR procedures. I am looking for advice on what PC sim might be best. I am looking for something that will have more complex SIDs, STARs, and approaches. It would be nice to have a working FMC that can be used to do flight plan loading/modifications/changes. Glass cockpit Boeing or AIrbus would be fine. I've never used a sim that is PC/MAC based before and don't know if anything out there will suite my needs.Anyone out there with real world flying experien…

12 years in fact. Cannot believe how fast the time passes. Flight simulation was my key inspiration to start my real flying career back in 2006. I was still active for the first few years of flying small corporate single and twin piston aircraft (SR22 and BE58 Baron), but then flying became hectic and very time consuming so my flight sim time was over. I started with Propilot99, amazing and super smooth graphics at the time. I remember flying their Citation aircraft there a lot. Then came many editions of MSFS up to the final version then, the FSX. At one stage I even built the custom computer for the sim exclusively with proper water cooling system runni…

Hi all I'm a new member and have some basic questions about the Google earth flight simulator. Please be kind! As you know, the displayed speed decreases as altitude increases. Isn't this the opposite of what happens in real flying? Next question. When I'm doing a really long flight using my laptop I often lose my internet connection if I leave the laptop idle for a period. This stops google earth from updating mid flight and I'm left with the blury imagery. Is there a way to correct this mid flight? Thank you and much obliged.
