Hi, I'm Ham. I've been flying since MSFS's creation on and off and i'm with Delta Virtual. It's great to be here, I've acquired many aircraft from the library over the years, thanks for that. Other than to say hello, i am seeking help with a FSX display issue and i'm really not sure where to go in the forum. I do not think it's a hardware issue. But i finally (reluctantly) moved into a Windows 10 environment, and the only problem i'm having is when i hit W and change the view, if i try to open the GPS it opens for 1 second and then it disappears along with the gauges. A very good evening to all from FL390 inbound to LDDU. I have recently returned to flight simulation on P3D (+addons) since having a few years out and very happy to be back. I've brushed up on my 737 knowledge which thankfully hasn't faded too much, and currently training myself on 787 operations and on my 3rd flight of the day as i'm writing. I'm looking forward to meeting new people, taking part in conversations and developing my skills and knowledge of flying! Happy flying!

Another newby here just checking in. Got the bug to set up a real VR sim, and found this very helpful and informative forum. It's been since waaaay back when I played Warbirds over a dial up connection that I have played with any sims, and the difference from then to now is astounding! My goal is to set up a VR heli sim to use as a tool to self teach myself everything I can about helicopter flight. Anything I can learn with a sim may save a buck or two when it's time to train for real. So with that in mind I'm pretty set on using a wide FOV HMD, probably a Pimax 5k+. I'll have to get a dedicated PC built for this too, so lots to research and learn about all this stuf…

using W1603 pro my GTN750 was functionning perfectly, getting Build19013.vb_release 191025-1609 the same GTN standalone and into the aircraft stutters and not functionning normaly. I have the GTN 750 and using with TBM 900 Hot Start on X-Plane. I cannot get it to work on the 900 but it works fine with the stock Cessna 182. I have tried just about every setting. to get it to communicate with the autopilot and the MFD. it sees it but wont follow. help

My Autopilot doesn't couple on the initial approach to the ILS runway. I always have to do a missed approach procedure. Would appreciate any information.. Thanks

Just wanted to say hello to everyone as a new member to the site. I'm getting back into Flight Sim after about 15 years and am loving XPlane11. I am hoping to get to know people here and pluck up the courage to make my first flight on VATSIM soon. Looking forward to meeting people 🙂

Greetings all. I love to fly but financially, time and life changes have prevented that but I still want to enjoy flying. I have a good PC system intel 9900 with 1080Ti and struggling between doing VR vs building my own cessna panel with touch screen for gauges and some physical input (throttles and radios. I feel like VR is cheaper and more immersive yet the actual sensation of physical input will help me with getting my IFR in the future. Using Xplane but eyeing MSFS 2020.

I'm a long-time lurker to these forums, and have loved flight sim since I was a child in the 80's. I've tapered off somewhat in my adult years, but have started using FSX and X-Plane 11 again in recent years. I'm really excited for Microsoft's new entry and will buy that as soon as it's available. I'll be perusing the hardware forums, as I'll be in need of a new flight stick of some sort, as my nearly 20 year old Saitek 3D Force has nearly had it, and it's time for an upgrade. It served me well, but it's time to move on. At any rate, it's good to be here, and look forward to continuing to learn from the more experienced sim pilots.

Hi all, after a couple of posts on the forum i thought it would be nice introducing myself and say hi. As the title says I'm not only into flight-simming but my main focus ist still on virtual racecar-simming...even at the age of 54 I love online-racing using iRacing and AC. I've already had contact irl to a well-known member of this board and got great help from the community. I found a significant problem with FSX that should be easily fixed. I’m at the runway(ready for takeoff), throttle is 0%, slider is all the way back. I move the slider about 1/8th inch forward and the throttle jumps up to 30% and the slider can’t bring the throttle back to 0%. I believe this is the case for all FSX default aircraft - F/A-18, Cessna C172SP, DC-3, Learjet 45. I can’t control airspeed to land. Has anyone heard of or noticed this problem? 🤔 My Extreme 3D Pro slider zeros the throttle for P3D (F-22 Raptor and F35A Lightning II).

I haven't had a simulator on my computer for awhile, but I've done a lot of traveling and finding some cool areas to fly around. I've been playing Elite: Dangerous pretty extensively, and joined a lawful PvP group, and decided to reinstall a couple simulators, and I'm sucked back in. I've been using Prepar3D and X-Plane 11. I have a couple nice HOTASes so now I have some more immersive methods on controlling my airplanes. Lately, my favorite areas to fly in the sims are my local airports and Asia (since I was in the Marines and I was stationed in Asia, and have done a lot of traveling for leisure in the area).

Hi all, I've always wanted to get into sim flying but I've never been able to proceed beyond the basic tutorials in XPlane and FSX. I finish those, but then I don't know what to do next! How do I learn how to fly properly (sim flying, I mean, not real flying)? I have a good computer (Ryzen 2700x, 32GB RAM, GTX 1070) and a basic Thrustmaster Joystick so I have the technical side sorted. Hello, finally joined as a member. I have been lurking on these forums for years but have finally decided to get involved! I have been flightsimming for around 10 years beginning with FSX and now mostly with P3D v4 and I do dabble with Xplane. I love flying heavy metal long haul and spending hours studying complex aircraft :). I am a software developer by trade and a massive geek!
