I am an experienced simmer, FSX Deluxe, but never needed to get a new computer until my present one, built in 2011, crashed. It had an Intel Core 2 processor and 8 RAM, but ran everything pretty well except with weather an a PMDG 777. I will now have to reload everything (GXS, JFK, LHR, Weather, PMDG aircraft etc). What is the best, but not the absolute greatest, specs for a new machine? I was looking at Alienware since I only use my PC for FSX (I use Macs for work and home). Is an Alienware Alpha machine with an Intel I5 any good?? Otherwise, any recommendations to keep the frame rates decent? Thanks so much !!!

I have been an avid simmer since 1995 at least.. all within the Microsoft world from FS95' FS98', FS2000', FS2002, FS2004, FSX Acceleration... Alot of time and $ invested. I am looking at the new sims out there, P3d, Xplane 11, Ifly, etc... I simply don't know which direction to take moving forward. I cannot make up my mind and was hoping in the forum I could get some help and suggestions from fellow simmers that have taken the plunge one way or the other. I am a new member as of 3/18/2018. I haven't used MS Flight Sim since 2000 when I had started off with FS98 and thereafter started to use FS2000 for a very short time. I had used FSNavigator which to me was awesome Add-on and was easily accessible while in flight by pressing if not mistaken my F9 key It's been 16 years since I've used Flight Sim and just started getting myself involved again. I currently have FSX for PC. I was trying to find the FSNavigator again and found FSCommander 10 which comes with FSUIPC4 I went to try and use it however it doesn't appear that FSCommander 10 is integrating like FSNavigator used to. Hi guys. I bought prepar3d v3 when it released. And now im flying v4 hoever i always noticed. That the default scenery terminals and buildings on the airports. Are gone. Its just a runway with some taxiways now. I had this also in v3. Is this normal. I would like to have the terminals back. Im planning to do some flights on small airports where there are no scenery payware packages for. I already installed some packages to make the runways taxiways and buildings(if they would be there) look a lot nicer. But i cant just deal with the fact that its just a ugly bare airport. Does someome have a fix for this. I came from fsx and yeah. Obvioisly it all works there. …

I use XPLANE 11 V4. I purchased gtn750 9/16/2017. All was good, it installed and functioned well after I updated it about a month ago. I was excited and bought gtn650, downloaded, installed and now NOTHING works. Anybody have the version before the POPOUT window of the GTN750 I could download. That version worked awesome. Hello, after much thought trying to decide between the RXP GTN and the F1 GTN, I decided to go with the F1. Sadly I have come to find out that the frame rate has halved in the PC-12 (I haven't tried the other planes yet). Generally I will have the frame rate locked at 30 and, especially in the PC-12 it would stay at 30 or in the upper 20s. Once I added the GTN to the plane I am lucky to get 15 fps. Very disappointing and I am hoping at least someone has a solution. I should probably mention I am running P3D v3 academic. Thank you, Zach Burns

Hello, I am soon most likely going to purchase a GTN 750 for my Carenado PC-12 and a few other planes and I just wanted to get some opinions on which to get and such. Out of the two that I know of, one being the Flight 1 GTN 750 and the other being the RXP GTN 750, I am leaning more toward the RXP GTN 750 as I believe someone said it is based off a new version of the Garmin Trainer and it is quite a bit cheaper. With that being said, I was wondering if the RXP GTN would work and actually be able to be put into the PC-12's VC as the PC-12 will most likely be the main plane that I fly and use the GTN with. I already spent a lot of money on flight simulation, most recently P3D. As I'm trying to get everything installed and tuned properly, I find myself getting very agitated with Prepar3d. It seems that when a new update comes out, I must constantly wait for compatibility updates to various amounts of software that I have purchased. So my question is if this happens in X-Plane. This is starting to get so frustrating that I am ready to abandon P3D altogether if I don't have to constantly go thru this. Hello everybody. I need help with a problem that i have with FSX and IVAO This is, when i connect to IVAO all seems to be Ok, but i can't see others traffics, isnt the problem with black or white textures, is that i cant see them in "Right click, Traffic section", and i can't see the traffic section too, so, i tried disabling aircraft shadows (I saw that in other forum), but i didnt work, Sorry if a word is bad, im spanish :/ That's all, hope someone help me, and good day!

HI Guys, FSX Steam user. great site and thanks to everyone for spreading their knowledge so freely. My question is: If you are flying between to cities and you are using the fmc and following the registered flight plan with lnav, how far from your destination do you go "manual" and start taking instruction from the ATC regarding the landing pattern?. I mean it's ok to just fly in to an airport without atc but you are more than likely going to take out another plane on the runway. if one requires realism then i'm sure there has to be a correct procedure. Greetings - Pilot Wannabe here. I am taking private pilot lessons and using X-Plane to supplement by learning in the Cessna 172. I would like to optimize my simulator training experience, if possible, by resolving the following issues: 1. When I switch from the cockpit view looking forward to a view out the window, and then back to the cockpit, the view is further back that where it was when I turned away. This requires me to use the mouse to move the view forward in order to see the instruments at the same distance as was the case before looking away.
