Hello all! My name is Jon, and I am new to here, but not to flight simming. I have flown sims since the early 90's (fs2.1(which I still have!)), when my flight schooling did not pan out. I am currently flying fs9, and am involved with two virtual airlines; Max Freight, and Froggie Air. I live in Kansas, enjoy vintage aircraft, and am searching for a Douglas DC-4E for my hanger. Hello, I'm an ancient newbie just a little desperate for advice. I have been using FSX with Windows 10, 64 bit for a while a now hope to up grade my 24" monitor to an AOC 32" Q3277 model, but I'm quite unsure about other hardware upgrade requirements which may be essential to a good performance from my pc with the new monitor. I expect to upgrade my current GTX 285 to GTX 1070 but I don't know whether my eight year old CPU i7 920 overclocked to 3.8, will be a suitable combination to this new graphics card. Also, should I upgrade the 6 gb ram currently installed, and will the current motherboard, Gigabyte GA-EX58 still be suitable for any new hard…

Hi there, just joining your forum. I participate in 2 other online forums, a third forum will not hurt. I currently hold a PPL that I acquired some 51 years ago. In that flying has gotten so expensive these past years and due to some health issues I have had, the extent of my flying has been limited to Microsoft Flight Sim(s)! With the additional skills and information these flight sims their and respective forums can provide, I have truly enjoyed being able to continue my interest with the various aviation communities. I look forward to learning from the members of this community and I hope to be able to share with you any information that I can be of help on! Thanks for…

Hello, A bit late with the introduction here. Although I've been a registered user for quite a while now, I never posted before. I did solve a lot of problems with my old FSX/XP10 installations in the past, thanks to posts others made on the forums here. So let me start by extending my gratitude for that. I am Hans, 27 years of age, coming from the Netherlands. My flightsim enthusiasm got sparked at a young age by a combat helicopter sim my father brought with him (team apache). More recently it got triggered again by DCS blackshark and after that DCS A10-C. I didn't get into airliners until a number of years ago. Which also brought my attention to the…

Hello all, I a new member just getting on the forum. I am apart of 2 VA's (upsvac.com and aavirtual.net) with a couple others in my past. I currently am a staggering 16 years old (I know, crazy). In the real world I have only flown on a few Southwest flights but I have been bitten by the aviation bug and love everything about. With that I'd like to say this community is one of the more relaxed I have seen and I can't wait to participate in it. I enjoy being apart of these simming communities and look forward to this one. Hopefully I can spread some knowledge while gaining a lot on the way. So for now, post on! Best regards, Clayton Yosten - VID 1311511

The autopilot gets close to destination airport then starts giving the wrong headings. I set two way points indicating the runway. Do I need to set anything other than alt, vs, ias,and heading . Also the tower at times keeps repeating the runway to go to. I tried reinstalling the drivers and software with no success. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Hi everybody, I'd like to introduce myself this way and say hello to you guys ot there :). Long story short, I startet my first virtual flying experience on an AMIGA 500 back in the late eighties and in my twenties I worked as an aircraft mechanic on airforce machines and also on GA planes like Cessna, Piper, Mooney etc. I'm in my early fourties now and after years of "flying" MSFS from version 98 on I again switched lanes and now X-Plane (10, now 11) supported with some addons (planes, scenery, realism tools...) provides the fun. Don't regret it. This year I found out about "On The Glideslope", got thrilled and now I plan to build something similar. Fot t…

Hi All New to flight simming I have installed FSX steam edition, just having a click on things and looking around and what it involves. Looks like a hobby that might be having very late nights. I have downloaded one aircraft the alabeo DA40 FSX/P3D and the install was okay no issues. Silly question sorry I am not very good with computers, I work in the health industry. I ran the installer and installed several folders to the desktop....Alabeo DA40, Sound, Gauges, Font, Effects. The Alabeo goes in the sim objects Airplanes I'm assuming. Where am I putting the other folders/files? Look forward to reading the posts here.

Hi! Tres Pierson. This is the first time I have ever posted on the AVSIM forum but the truth is I've been lurking around for years, downloading free airplanes and other stuff out of your library but I.ve never posted anything. Actually, I am a very experienced simmer, I go back to FS4. Before that, in the 80s, I was a real-world private pilot, accumulated the best part of 500 hours but then I lost my medical when I contracted chronic progressive Multiple Sclerosis. After a few years interim I took up flight simulator and I've been flying a computer and a wheelchair ever since. Oh yes, I am a very experienced simmer. That doesn't mean I am a particularly smart si…

I am just beginning with FSX Gold and having problems with getting pitch sensitivity to settle down. Have tried various sensitivity settings for CH yoke. All is Ok on climb out and landings. But in cruise, stabilator and trim become extremely sensitive with lots of extreme porpoising with minor control inputs. Aircraft is Carenado Archer II, which otherwise behaves mostly like the stable PA28-180s that I have flown.

Hello, all. As suggested by the management, this is a first post to introduce myself. I'm working on a setup using X-plane 11 and Air Manager. X-plane 11 is superb but so far Air Manager seems very wiggy indeed. Because I am poor I am building all my own flight controls using Bodnar interfaces. My objectives are: first a C172 instrument trainer, then a turboprop twin designed in Plane Maker around the kind of cockpit I can actually construct. My main design concern is usually ergonomics, and I am interested in historical (pre-GPS) radio-navigation. I obtained a PPL twenty years ago but was almost immediately grounded owing to a medical problem which has since le…

Hi, I wanted to introduce myself, I live in France and have been flying 20 years ago when I was younger. Now that I have retired, I have a A320 cockpit home and make a great use of it. I'm here to find some information when I encounter dififculties in the sim, and discuss also the new things which always come out every day. Although I don't post too much, I read a lot of the discussions here and very interested in what I can read. Regards, Christian

Hi all, I am new to this site. There was a time around 2004 when I was heavily into flight simulation and then due to real life things changed. Now I would like to get back into it. Unlike before, now there are many options available. The flight simulator I was looking into and planning to get is Virtual Flight Simulator 3D, the elite package there is usually over $200 and is on sale right now for $127. It looks like it is the most complete package with the most aircraft and airports (etc) without having to pay extra for add-ons. Then again I see a lot of bad reviews mixed in with the good ones, and the website seems a bit shady to me so I am concerned with thro…

Hi all. I'm a new guy. I know how to fly planes, but don't yet understand how to do so in FSX. I'd like to get familiar with the 737 NG, so installed FSX/SE, the Los Angeles scenery pack available through Steam, and also installed PMDG's 737NGX 800/900 Base Package. As I try to figure this out, any chance somebody could confirm that the person who posted this YouTube video was also using EZDOK, and the ability to easily look around the cockpit as shown in this video (starting at time 2:40) is not part of the software I've purchased? Many thanks!

Hello everyone, I purchased PMDG 747 Queen of the Sky II yesterday but I am having problem installing it. When I install it and try to run, it does not ask me to put in the registration key. I am not sure when do I put that. After my aircraft opens up, the aircraft looks frozen with the gear up and the engine is stopped. Am I doing something wrong? Need help on this, thank you.
