PMDG 777

  1. Started by nyydave,

Hey everyone, I'm having a strange problem in about 75% of my landings where the 777 hits the runway and immediately goes full throttle. I feel like I have to have the aircraft set up correctly, speed at VREF+5 with A/T, autoland configured, speed breaks armed, auto breaks at 3. My physical throttle stays idle since before TOD. After a second on the ground I right click disarm A/P and give it a second right click to silence the alarm. By this point the 777 is usually throttle up and I fight it and click frantically to shut off any auto controls but it's like they're overriding me? Let me know what I did silly... David Chapman

I have the paint kit for my virtual airline PMDG 737NGX. I would like to 'copy' the paint to my PMDG 777.... Is that possible? Or do I have to paint the 777 from scratch? Many thanks! Mark

  3. I have followed the tutorial to the letter and on the legs page, they do not show up. What am I doing wrong?

  4. I saved my flight just prior to TO following the tutorial in the PMDG manual. I also SAVED my Panel State via the FMC so that everything would be where it was upon reloading the flight. No in my saved panel states I only have the LH/SH and C&D panel states. Why did the "DEFAULT" disappear? I was careful not to save over any of the other panel states... I also noticed that when you SAVE a flight within the FSX main menu the 777 Panel State at the time of the save is completely saved automatically and added to the FMC Panels LOAD section. Am I in deep poo without the "DEFAULT" Panel State now...? Thanks

  5. Folks, I'm curious what others consider essential add-ons for using the 777? Things like scenery, airports, flight planners, WX, etc... what's everyone using for the most immersive experience? Cheers, Busdriver (Bill) KPHL

I'm unable to get the GSX Pushback menu to show at FSDT KFLL with the PMDG parked at the Gate.... The GSX menu with Ctrl-F12 only pops up with a menu of options to open various Hangar doors around the airport. I'm guessing I need to get the AC in a specific configuration to possibly get the menu to show but can't figure out how/why...? It's been some years since I've flown any Heavies in FSX (LDS 767) and am getting used to the complicated departure check list when at the gate. So far Engines off and parking breaks set have not helped... Is there somewhere I can get a tutorial on this with GSX pushback feature? Thanks!

Just thought I'd chime in on how I have fixed (hopefully for good) those pesky 8 minute freezes with the sound still playing. -Updated my Realtek HD sound driver to the latest available. -DIsabled all other sound devices thru device manager. After I did that,I completed -for the first time - a 10 hour flight without a single freeze in the PMDG 777. Don't know if it works for everyone, but it worked wonders for me. I am running ASN, FSinn, FSUIPC (never had autosave enabled), Opus for DHM. (sorry if this has been posted earlier - shoot me down if you want )

Hello everyone! Will PMDG come out with a boxed version of the 777? Thanks!

  9. Started by markjj,

Hi, I have a question concerning the windshear alert in the PMDG 777. I know that the sound and alert exists in the aircraft, but from reading NGX forums I have read that it doesn't actually work since FSX's weather engine is obsolete and cannot accurately simulate windshear. Anyways, now with advanced weather engines like ASN that simulate microbursts, I was wondering if it was possible to get a windshear alert (from the 777, not the ASN alert) in the PMDG 777 while flying through those conditions. Thanks

  10. Hey guys! The PMDG 777 is a fantastic plane to fly! A whole load of great work definitely shows in the systems quality and graphics! I have one problem with the paintkit though. The alpha channel that comes with the paintkit PSDs for the windows on the fuselage of the 777 does not show the black cutouts for where the windows are. So when the paint is exported into flight sim, the windows are covered in the paint and are not transparent to see inside the cabin. I am certainly not an expert when it comes to working with Photoshop, but I do know a lot. So I am unsure as to why the alpha channels for the windows are not already prepared. Any help is appreciat…

i had to reinstall fsx, but now, for the first time i have sound issue. All the sliders are set correctly, and sound card up to date. The sound is perfect in all views except the spot views, the volume level is extremely low, almost silent, is this a PMDG 777 bug?; i have only installed their addon MD11 737 and 777. or is this something else that someone can help me with.BTW all aircraft are effected the same. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello Guys, I need some help here, i'm planning a flight from brisbane (YBBN) to Seychelles (FSIA), the trip can't be done with ETOPS 180, only with 207, and my question is about the ring diameters i should put on the FIX page. Another question: The CI (64 by PFPX default) seems not logical to this flight. So i can't adjust the CI, only the MACH, for example MACH 0.86 which CI corresponds ? Thanks

  15. Started by KriVa,

Before bombarding the guys at PMDG Support with this question, I wanted to make sure I'm not dreaming. A while ago, I decided to play around with the SBF Multiplier. I had it set on 100,200,256,512 and 1024 for a while. By now, I reverted back to 1x, but the airplane seems to spit out a LOT more errors than I would expect for a modern airliner. I do know stuff breaks all the time, but getting multiple fire loop failures etc. on a 6 hour trip, seems a little far-fetched. Does anybody else have this experience, or is it just me?

I would like to ask if it is possible for PMDG to upgrade lights so that they will actually light up surrounding objects ? ( same as Aerosoft did for their AirbusX )

  17. Started by Nyxx,

First thing first. This is not my find. If you like using external views this is not for you. If you sit in the VC and never leave it like me 99% of the time....read on. What this does is losers the external model. You do it like this, Simply browse to the aircraft's main folder within C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes, and go into the Model directory. In the Model directory, open up Model.cfg and place '//' (two forward slashes) in front of the line that begins with 'normal=' It works for every aircraft but am only flying the PMDG 777 ATM so e.g my new 777F looks like this [models] //nor…

I've recently installed PFPX to do long range route planning for my PMDG T7 (previously used Vatsim for route legs and FSX's real (???) world weather. After apparent successful exports from PFPX, ie- to Microsoft FSX .pln, to PMDG Simulations .rt2, to PMDG Simulations B777 .rte and to PMDG Simulations Wind Uplink .wx, I've started-up FSX, loaded the T7, the route and then checked the winds at each route point - they are not even close to the PFPX route point winds ! In trying to figure this problem out, it appears FSX weather is interfering with PFPX downloads. I've tried ignoring the FSX weather selection, tried the User Input and tried FSX Real World Weather ; all …

Can anyone help please, I have just upgraded my PC to a 64 bit windows 7 operating system- GeForce GTX 770 Graphics to accommodate the new 777 from PMDG this is a fantastic new addition to my hanger, however after downloading this beautiful aircraft and a few add on liveries the FSX kept crashing every time I fired up the flight sim. I was forced to remove the 777 package to enable the FSX to function, I have now reinstalled the 777 again without the add on liveries and all is ok, except I now have no auto pilot function, and no PFD just a black empty screen, is anyone out there able to give any advise please? P.S I have upgraded my video drivers.

Hi Everyone, What s the correct procedure to make RNAV approach with the 777? Imean LNAV AND VNAV Are engaged all disco in leg page deleted of course select a RNAV approach in DEP/APR page. But what i am askig is this aside VNAV and LNAV should i press Apr too or it is not needed? I rememebr in the 737NGX Landing on RWY 9 In Phuket I pressed SAPR and i had GP showed insted of GS and the plane started to descend like following a Glide. So i would like to know hw to fly a RNAV approach with the 777 thanks to everyone

  22. Started by Michael Moe,

Hi, When doing a RNAV Approach using LNAV/VNAV i believe you have to set MDA (or DH baro i guess ) in the MCP for VNAV to continue the approach/descend , but i had actually set 1700´ in the MCP for LESOR when the aircraft still continued descending to Masor to the MDA in A/P VNAV/LNAV mode. The FMC was correct setup for the approach with INTC 093 active so is it a ticket or my bad? http://www.bostonvirtualatc.com/charts/TNCM/IAP/RNAV.pdf This was from a saved flight The originally flight i did not noticed this because i had the MDA altitude set in the MCP PPS! Whats the different between MDA(H) and DH(H) anyway? Michael

Hey guys, First and foremost: The PMDG paint kit definitely sets the gold standard of exactly what a paint kit should be. Well done, gentlemen. It is an absolute joy when I get a request to paint a PMDG plane, because I know I won't be fighting with a garbage kit, where I'm pixel-counting to try to line up straight lines (or god forbid curved ones). On to my problem: In the process of making a Deltaflot livery, I was trying to put a whack of shine on the bottom part that's supposed to be metal. The way I thought to do this (and if there's a better way, by all means chime in... I am not a master of photoshop in any way, shape or form) was to add a bunch of dar…

Hello Everyone, So, I've just noticed something peculiar on my PFD in regards to the speed band. I'm wondering if this looks peculiar. I checked out the FCOM v2 10.10.7 and was wondering it its my VNAV speed band. I just don't remember seeing that solid yellow line. Perhaps I just never noticed it before but something doesn't seem right to me. I also took a look in 10.30.1 and can't seem to find the answer. Any thoughts about this? I'm sure it's something that I'm doing incorrectly. Thanks for the help. Chris K. Hmmm....I think it's a set up issue. I'm at cruise right now and took a look at the FMC VNAV page. My cruise alt is 380, plane wants to ste…
