	So when I open P3D v5 I get a debug message that says its unable to create its work files. Please make sure that you are running Prepar3D as admin.

</p>

<p>
	So I know what I did. I set the 777 as the default aircraft on startup. My problem is how do I get back in to change it back? When I run as admin it just closes itself after about a minute. My apologies for being a noob.

	I’m running into a recurring and very frustrating issue with the 777-200ER in MSFS 2024.
</p>

<p>
	On my latest flight into KMSP (about 3.5 hours long), I had to go around. While zoomed in on the FMC, I pressed a button and the entire simulator instantly froze. The screen locked solid — no movement or input possible — but audio kept playing in the background. The only option was to kill the sim, which after that much flying feels like a complete waste of time.
</p>

<p>
	This isn’t the first time it has happened. Although the most recent case was at KMSP, I’ve had similar freezes on other flights too, usually during approach or other high workload moments when interacting with the FMC.
</p>

<p>
	For reference, I’m running an Nvidia RTX 4080 with an AMD AM5 Ryzen 9 7900X3D, latest Windows and GPU drivers, MSFS up to date, and the aircraft fully patched via Ops Center. No third-party scenery at KMSP and otherwise smooth performance throughout. I was also running BeyondATC, GSX, SimToolKit, and linking to a Virtual Airline recorder via FSUIPC7 — all of which normally work fine for me without issues.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be tied to certain FMC inputs during approach/go-around? It’s incredibly frustrating and I’d really appreciate advice on whether this is a known bug or something I should log via a support ticket.

	Hello Captains,
</p>

<p>
	I wanted to share something valuable with the PMDG 777 community. As you may know, the Airline2Sim PMDG Boeing 777 Cadet Training Course with Captain Myron has been unavailable since the A2S website was taken offline.
</p>

<p>
	I purchased the original course before it disappeared, and I have now uploaded the full training series to YouTube for educational use — mainly to help those who never got the chance to access it.
</p>

<p>
	     What’s included:<br />
	• Meet the Instructor &amp; Cadet Training Philosophy  <br />
	• Simulator &amp; PMDG Setup (control realism &amp; panel states)  <br />
	• Dispatch, Flight Planning &amp; Weather (Real Airline Procedures)  <br />
	• Walkaround Inspection (full 777 airline SOP)  <br />
	• Flight Deck Tour (Part 1–3)  <br />
	• Complete Training Flight (Part 1–4): Taxi, Takeoff, Climb, Cruise  <br />
	• FMC, VNAV/LNAV, PERF INIT, failures, systems (coming soon)
</p>

<p>
	   Full Playlist (Episodes 1–9 uploaded):

<p>In the year or so that I’ve owned the NGX, with hundreds of hours on it, I never crashed it. I might have had some scary go-arounds, and some spine-compressing landings, but the safety systems always prevented major disasters. Yesterday, I’m ashamed to admit, I crashed the 777. The incident unfolded in almost the exact same way as the Asiana 214 disaster –I was on short final for a visual approach, AT switches were both armed, AT on, yet the plane continued to lose airspeed on approach, to the point that it stalled right before the runway. In a panic, I finally noticed airspeed dropping, but it was too late to get the engines spooled up again and the plane hit the water at speeds freakishly similar to the Asiana flight.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>According to my research, some pilots believe the Asiana disaster might have been caused by the behavior of the FLCH mode, what some pilots apparently refer to as the “flight level change trap”. </p>
<p><a href="http://www.aviationweek.com/Article.aspx?id=/article-xml/AW_07_22_2013_p25-597816.xml" rel="external">http://www.aviationweek.com/Article.aspx?id=/article-xml/AW_07_22_2013_p25-597816.xml</a><span style="font-size:14px;"> My incident is described almost word for word in this article. I was in FLCH mode when I crashed, and had selected 0 feet in the altitude window. The plane began to idle at 500ft or so, and with gear extended and flaps coming down, it diminished very quickly. Nothing I could do would make the AT ‘wake up’. Disengaging AP (which I thought would disengage FLCH) didn’t do anything to wake up the throttles. Despite the fact that AT was on, the plane continue to idle at 118kts at 400 feet, dropping quickly. The flight envelope protection systems never kicked on either. It’s as though FLCH completely disables flight envelope protection. I am not one to believe strongly in automated systems (see avatar) and don’t particularly think a pilot should rely on them to save the plane, yet I am a bit frustrated that flight envelope protection didn’t activate. To be honest, the 777’s systems can seem spooky sometimes. I am still having issues trying to understand how all these fly-by-wire systems interact and where the line between manual and automatic is truly drawn.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p>I read that airlines are working on the FLCH trap in training now, and I really wish I could get some of that training too. Has anyone ran across this FLCH issue or have an idea of what Boeing’s goal was with the FLCH mode from a theoretical standpoint? And what could I have done differently? Should FLCH never be used during approaches?</p>

	As title says, is there any chance to save a flight and resume in FS2024? I know the possibility to use FSipanel to take a snapshot and reload a flight but sincerely buy this program only for this purpose is exagerated for me even if almost mandatory.
</p>

<p>
	I think that an aircraft like this should have a built-in feature to save\resume flight, it's minimum, long haul flight or CTD. A321 Neo by FSLabs has this great feature.
</p>

<p>
	Have you found any work around or know that if is there a roadmap to implement this feature?

	In the 777, on the ACP, what does pushing the mic/int switch on the yoke, or the acp for that matter, do?. Does it serve as just a quick way to communicate on the FLT interphone? Also, when used while in the air, does it automatically key the cabin interphone instead? (CAB on acp). Is this any different to using the handphone or the center mcdu for the interphone?

	Hi
</p>

<p>
	I have finally taken the plunge and installed MSFS 2024, having used FSX since then and got used to it, I am finding it difficult to indeed get used to MSFS 2024.
</p>

<p>
	I am using add-ons like PMDG 777 and find it really annoying you cannot have the 2D pop-out like the FMC, having asked PMDG they say that it is no longer been a feature since MSFS 2020.
</p>

<p>
	I miss many aspects about FSX and find MSFS 2024 a bit overwhelming, therefore do you think MSFS 2024 will eventually allow the 2D pop-outs like the CDU etc?
</p>

<p>
	I also use the CH Yoke, however again I cannot find ways of setting the way you look around the Flight Deck using the CH Yoke like I could in FSX, FS2024 seems more fidgety.
</p>

<p>
	I also wonder if you are using Active Sky weather generator using historical weather, and you request the METARS and ATIS from the PMDG 777 ACARS, does it read live or historical weather at that time.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks

	Hi,
</p>

<p>
	I still own an old machine, which I will change by mid next year to run MSFS2024. Until then, however, I would love to enjoy some flightsimming.
</p>

<p>
	So I bought the 737NG quite some time ago and love the level of simulation. Now I want to go bigger and get my hands on a 777. However, I cant download it from the site. Is it possible to get a key from someone that isnt using it anymore? I mean, I would pay for it, but it just isnt there on PMDGs site.

	Last night I set up to shoot the ILS 27 approach at KMEM, in a Fedex 777F.
</p>

<p>
	Now, we know that Rwy 27 at KMEM does not have a CAT III / Autoland capable ILS (right?)
</p>

<p>
	I ran down the approach, captured the Localizer, then the G/S.  I fully expected to have to take over at some point, possibly at the decision height or before.  However, it seemed like the aircraft followed on down, Minimums....50, throttles begin dropping...30-20 flare...10...nice soft landing, right on the centerline, right on the TD point.   Being paranoid, I did pull back on the yoke for a flare, but I could swear the airplane did the flare, not me.  Was this me doing that flare?  Or was this a case of the airplane following the Loc/GS all the way down?  Does it flare anyway?  Was this a ground-lift-effect?  Thanks for any insight.

<p>
	Hey guys!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So yesterday I was doing a VATSIM flight QATARI68H from JFK to Doha. Over the Atlantic, the wind suddenly started changing directions. This caused my aircraft (77W) to drop airspeed while gain as well. Sometimes, it lost like about 10 knots and AP had to counteract by increasing thrust. But once, the wind change caused the aircraft to suddenly increase by 10 knots causing overspeed. Not only that, it also gained like 500 ft. To help drop the flight level and speed, I deployed speed brakes mid-air while cruising.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Is that how they do it in real life?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>Hi all,</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I loaded to the fmc a route to KIAD and noticed there is an almost 180 deg turn just 10nm before landing. I'd like to add a custom waypoint so to somehow "round" the path to the runway. In the PMDG 737 FMC I'd add a FIX/BRG/DIST waypoint like MOSBY/290/10, but I do not find a way to go with the 777 FMC.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Just opened the FIX page, added the FIX as per the FMC screen fields - MOSBY at LSK 1L, 290/10 at LSK 2L - and it looks there are no errors, but then I do not find ways to copy the fix, paste it into the legs page and include it into the active route I'm flying right now</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Can someone advise on how to do ?</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Thanks a lot in advance</p>

<p>So I have been having an issue with the 777 bouncing on touchdown. Video example:</p>
<p> </p>
<p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLD7pxmjeEU?t=10m55s" rel="external">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLD7pxmjeEU?t=10m55s</a></p>
<p> </p>
<p>Happens at: 11:09, 11:12, 11:23</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Irrespective of how smooth my touchdown is, I will be gently lowering the nose on rollout and the whole plane will bounce, sometimes a foot or two into the air, sometimes more than once. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so this was really bothering me. Fix below:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Go into your aircraft.cfg, look under [contact_points]. Find this line:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>static_cg_height=13.060</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Now change it to this:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>static_cg_height=13.660</p>
<p> </p>
<p>You can undo it at any time. Hopefully this will help someone. </p>

<p>Hello:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>My 777 (both -200 &amp; -300) are up-to-date w/ latest service packs.  However, when I try to open the FRWD &amp; AFT cargo doors via the FS Actions in the FMC, I am not able to do so. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The option to open them is available, but when I push the LSK to open, nothing happens.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>PS - Not too sure how to "sign" my post but I'll gladly supply whatever information I need to receive support.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Thank you,</p>
<p> </p>

<p>
	Is it possible to change the default purple cabin light color for PMDG 777? I've looked online and through the files and have seen nothing that can change it.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks!
