PMDG 777

  1. Once in a while on a flight where I guessed what the payload was and got it wrong, I will go to the fmc and change the payload and fuel, while in the air flying. I noticed that later on in the flight, sometimes a few hours in, the game will freeze and I'd have to ctrl alt del. Does anyone else get this freeze in the middle of a flight, and did you also happen to change fuel or payload after taking off? This is for sure the cause of it. FSX just froze about 15 minutes after I changed the fuel and payload while at cruise altitude. I changed the payload then went into the pref page and adjusted numbers there. Then a few minutes later, bam, fsx frozen.

  4. Folks, I'm curious what others consider essential add-ons for using the 777? Things like scenery, airports, flight planners, WX, etc... what's everyone using for the most immersive experience? Cheers, Busdriver (Bill) KPHL

Hey, probably a silly question, but you guys in here know about everything, so I'll ask. I had to do a Go around over KJFK in my new 777 (first trip over the pond). I've never had to do Go arounds before, and I understood nothing. I just pressed TO/GA, and the plane proceeded. I just waited it out, curious as to what would happen, but the plane just kept on climbing and climbing against FL200, the annunciators just showing TO/GA TO/GA. The boeing procedures wasn't much help, and I ended up ending the flight. Anyone know a good detailed tutorial for TO/GA in either the 777 or the NGX, preferably text and not preferably video? And especially how you return to the airport.…

I see a low fuel temp in dash display. How can I fix it? With the upcoming winter schedule, I would like to know the procedure to fix this issue. fly lower? change fuel type? I remember this issue similar to the MD11s. The only thing I can do in the MD11 is to cheat the fuel type in the FMC. Any help appreciated.

  10. I have the Saitek Flight Yoke Pro with 2 Throttle Quadrants. The configuration I want to use is from left to right - Elevator Trim, Spoiler, Throttle Engine 1, Throttle Engine 2, blank, Flaps. Configuring the Flaps was by far the easiest in FSUIPC4, then the Spoilers were fairly easy. The problems began with the Throttles which I will not get into it since I did figure it out. I am having trouble configuring the Elevator Trim Lever in FSUIPC4. It is very touchy and doesn't make sense (no, my pots are not dirty), one should be able to move the lever up to increase trim and lever down to decrease trim and the middle of the travel should put it in neutral. If only that w…

Hi Everyone, So I finally bought the PMDG 777 but I'm having a few problems. Every time I load the aircraft, I get a warning telling me that the product was unable to create its work files and to make sure that I'm running FSX as administrator (which I am). Also, when I load the aircraft, I get horrible VC views. In fact, the only clear displays are the PFD, ND, and FMS. I'm not sure if this is because I'm using Windows 8 or if there's another reason for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  17. Hey guys, First of all, I do not know whether this issue has already been adressed or not (at least I have not found anything in the bug thread). So please do not rail against me if I am too stupid to find it ;-) For some reason, my 777 FMC occsionally shows some very strange behaviour. It changes from 'climb mode' to 'des mode' before reaching the T/C. In this case, the aircraft levels off and holds the current altitude. This happend to me on a flight from OMDB to CYYZ again today. But this time, I noticed that there was a T/D displayed about 50nm before my T/C on the screen on the right of the PFD (guess it's the MFD but not sure). Once I passed the wrong T/D, …

  18. Quite a few times I have said that I am so overly carefull with my FSX install. Well two days ago I did things I usually never do, and BOOM CTD! What is worse, after this I kept having graphical glitches in the form of Flashes while in VC. I have also stated befofe that a CTD is really not good because it can cause software corruption. Well, here is the proof of that! I normally close FSX completely after a flight before I start a new one. Time consuming because for me this means shutting down OPUS FSX and TRACKIR as well and rebooting it all again in the correct sequence :-( Good thing I usually only fly one flight per FSX day :-) Anyway, two days…

  19. I posted this in the general FSX forum and no one has even viewed it so I am posting here since I figure people in this forum would be the sort of people that would use airnav.com and be familiar with what I am talking about. When I click on "Download" for any SID, STAR or approach I get an error message that states "Page can not be found" and a bunch of other stuff instead of the SID/STAR/Approach popping up in a new window. This is happening on two different computers and each computer uses a different internet provider. Is anyone else seeing this? On both computers I have tried IE10 and Firefox 26.0. This was all working the last time I looked at somethin…

I installed the aircraft and when I selected the 777 and started the simulation and nothing happens; black screens, inactive VC. There is not a popup to activate whatsoever. I received to code via mail. I can use the OPS center but neither there I can find a window to activate the 777. EDIT: Double topic, can be removed

  22. Started by ajpongress,

Maybe you smart people can figure this out, because I'm stumped. According to the QRH, this message means that the aft lower cargo temp selector knob is in the off position...except when I get this message, it isn't. My knob is in the 12 o'clock position, which means a target temp of 60*F in the AFT/BULK lower cargo hold. I confirmed this on the AIR page on the lower MFD. 60*F set in magenta, and 60*F showing in white beside it for the actual temp. But for whatever reason, I can't get CARGO HEAT BULK to disappear off the EICAS. I've tried rotating the knob to C, W, L, and H, and still the message stays. On the ground, in the air, doesn't matter. I'm flying the…

Alright guys, I know there was a thread on this back in September, and reading through that hasn't helped me. Here's my problem: I have FTX Global, FlyTampa OMDB and Aerosoft Male X addon. When I fly a normal aircraft, I will turn all of the above on, and I'm fine, I don't have any issues. I can complete a long haul flight with no problems, even letting it run at half speed all day. However, when I fly the PMDG 777, within minutes of taking off from Male Int'l (Using the tutorial flight plan until I can comfortably navigate the cockpit and try other routes), machine crashes and says "You have run out of available memory..." I have disabled all of the addon…

  24. Hello folks, I am not very experienced in regard to wide body A/Cs, so I see myself as a kind of beginner in that area. It happend twice over the last two weeks that I "softly" slammed the T7F onto the runway (sim-in-sim mode for sure):  -first occurrence: ROD > 1000ft/m (fsx crash display) -second occurrence "Tailstrike" (nicely displayed on the ECAM) Both happened at flaps full, 148kts approach speed (as recommended by FMC), manual Thrust (with A/T arm switch off). Reason of crash/tailstrike: airspeed too low because of insufficient thrust. Thrust levers set to full power too late by PF (me). I know, that the operating manual underlines "A/T arm switch alw…

Hi guys, I just started using the PMDG 777-200LR/F, and I went through the tutorial and it works fantastic. Absolutely love it. However, now I'm trying my hand at a route of my own. So I'm going from OMDB-VABB, I went to RouteFinder and they gave me the following route: OMDB SID RIKET M428 GOMTA UM428 TARBO M428 MUNGA A777 VAXIM L301 NOBAT L505 BIDIX M638 EXOLU DCT VABB So I'm entering this information into the FMC RTE (VIA/TO) page, and when I get to UM428 - TARBO, I get INVALID ENTRY at UM428, and everything after is invalid also. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way for me to validate these waypoints? Any support is appreciated Thanks, …
